DutchOma · 26/05/2010 12:13

Amen to that Mary. Hope you have a wonderful time.

PositiveAttitude · 26/05/2010 20:39

Have a relaxing time Mary. Leave all those negative/hurt feelings behind and have a great family time.

CaptainCaveman · 26/05/2010 22:57

I am testament to the living joy of Jesus and your prayers are being answered . I was massively struggling with my research proposal but it is now about 80% done and I'm praying to finish it tomorrow (it goes in on friday so prayers that I finish it much much much appreciated!) God is Good!!!

Prayers much appreciated too for my colleague at work who last week got the wonderful news that her first grandchild was welcomed into the world. Yesterday they have been deeply shocked to learn that their beautiful girl has got downs syndrome. I choose my words carefully, they are not devastated just struggling to comprehend the alteration in the dreams they had for her. Please pray for J and her family as they come to accept their change in fate.

I was going to post something else but I forgot what it was!!

Hermya321 · 27/05/2010 12:05

Hello there!!!

Sorry I haven't been on in a while, praying for you all.

I got my results back from my quad test and I had to laugh when I opened the envelope. The midwife had told me that 1 in 250 was a low result, mine were 1 in 12000. I think God was chuckling when I read that.

Other than that, I have a very very kicky baby. I've heard that they're supposed to sleep 18 to 19 hours a day at this stage. I really don't think thats true for my LO.

I've only got a week and a half to go before my next scan and I get to find out who is actually going to stealing my ice cream in the future.

Gods blessings on you all!!

DutchOma · 27/05/2010 14:51

How lovely to hear from you Hermya. Did you manage to get the pattern for that blanket you wanted me to make?

Hermya321 · 27/05/2010 16:02

Funny you should mention that Dutch I've been waiting for weeks for it to be in at the library and finally got my letter saying it would be there today.

So off I goes into town only to find that the library was closed. Oh well, better luck tomorrow.

DutchOma · 27/05/2010 17:41

Oh that's a shame, never mind. Better luck tomorrow, as you say.

ZipadiSoozi · 27/05/2010 21:51

Feeling an inadequate Mummy tonight can't help ds with his homework, he's only 14 I'm loosing him, he's angry, he swears!!!!! I just feel out of control with him, I ignore him most of the time, he gets away with alot of unacceptable behaviour that I don't know how to handle!

Its not rocket science, I do know but I'm scared of his reactions (trying to protect the twins) DH is as useful as a chocolate teapot!

Prayers of support would be appreciated.

xx
sooz

teaandcakeplease · 27/05/2010 22:59

Sooz - praying, it must be incredibly hard. My dear twin brother had a similar temperament and my parents tried to operate like you too when growing up. Sending ((hugs)) and prayers for wisdom and strength.

DutchOma · 28/05/2010 07:31

Oh Soozi, yes of course I will pray for your ds. What support can you muster, you seem to be incredibly on your own with this.
School, colleague at work, is he in a youth group? Could he be? Have a think about some support both for you and for your ds.

amberlight · 28/05/2010 11:12

Stressy day here - too much to do, ds is doing his exams...eeek

Keeping prayers going for everyone

PositiveAttitude · 29/05/2010 06:59

Sooz - I hope things have calmed down for you and DS. Teenagers certainly know how to hurt us mums and mine have sworn at me and been foul before. My 14 year old DS is also full of anger at times, and my nephews were too. I am reassured that it is far more to do with hormones than bad mums! I am sure you are a lovely mum and DS will realise this when he goes from being a hormonal teenage boy to a loving young man. Hold on in there. (but secretly I say that God gave us 12 years to fall totally in love with our DCs just so that the love doesn't wear too thin when they hit the teenage years!!!)

Yesterday was an incredibly stressful day for me. I just did not know which way to turn:-

DH had a job interview on Wednesday and was finding out whether he got the job, or not. Well, it was a NO. But we are not upset, something better will turn up and that one was just not meant to be.
He also had a telephone interview for another job yesterday morning, which went drastically wrong when he was cut off twice due to bad reception and never finished the conversation! Another no coming from that one, I'm sure.

DD1 had her second driving test. FAILED again. This time she knew she had failed when she had to avoid a crash with a car and ended grounded on a roundabout and the examiner had to get the car pushed off!!! She is already laughing about it, so she's ok!!

DD2 had her AS level PE Coaching exam. Went well.

DD3 got the results of a lower level maths test and took her english test. Passed both, which means she will not be a 16 year old with no qualifications, even though she has not been at school for 2 years, so very smiley face from her

DS - Just in a foul mood!

DD4 - results from Drs not particularly good, more problems with her kidneys, so not very happy.

ME- well, I have found it hard to console one of the family one minute, then jump with joy with another the next. A sense of humour was essential!!

Lovely weekend planned. Today I am shopping on the mainland with DD3 and DD4, while DH takes DD2 & DS to Twickenham for the Rugby final. DD3 will struggle with the shopping, but we will do it with lots of coffee stops and sitting down between shops. We all need to get outfits for a wedding we are going to in Greece in June.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

prayers continuing for you all.

DO - How are you doing? Praying for you to really feel the peace that passes all understanding.

MrsCadwallader · 29/05/2010 10:50

Prayers for all - esp Sooz (oh, how I dread the teens! we're a way off yet though) and PA - you've so much on you plate I'm not surprised you need a sense of humour.

A quick prayer for my family please. I've just waved my 3 boys off to spend half-term week with their grandparents. DH is driving them over and he will be back again tomorrow or Monday, leaving the boys behind. It's the first time they've been away without us (they are 7, 5 and 3) and are SO excited. Prayers please that they have a safe and happy week being Big Boys on holiday on their own

I'm spending the week in the final push before my exams. They start a week on Monday, and go on for all that week, so for me it's a case of head down, and push on through for the next fortight, when I can emerge into the light again. Prayers for strength, courage and energy for me please. I'm doing ok so far but want to either throw up or cry when I think of the actual exams . I need our Lord's strength and peace like never before!

Hope you all have a good Bank Holiday

MrsCadwallader · 29/05/2010 10:51

DO I'm sorry - I meant to also ask how Morgan is doing?

DutchOma · 29/05/2010 12:28

I have not heard anything for a day or two, not since Thursday when the news was that they had been able to insert a line for antibiotics. There was a bit of good news in that his parents were able to access some accommodation nearby and didn't have to move everytime Morgan moved wards. I hope to have more news after the weekend, I think Kathy will go up again some time over the weekend.

Prayers for energy and peace of mind about the boys being away.
PA I will write to you some time, sorry I haven't done so for a while.

ZipadiSoozi · 29/05/2010 16:42

PositiveAttitude - Wow busy busy busy, a lesson I must learn, 'sense of humour' prayers for all your needs!

TACP - When did your brother grow out of being 'Mr Cockyhead'

Thank you all for your prayers of support! much appreciated, its the homework I can't manage then ds gets grumpy! they do have school homework clubs, but ds won't waste go!

Just an update on dancing teacher that had twins at 27 weeks (Mia died) - but Erin is now home with Mummy & Daddy and is doing well! praise the Lord!!!!!!!

Mary - Prayers for a restful break!!!! xx

CD - Helloooooooo!

SS & CC - continued prayers for you both, hope you are fine and dandy

Prayers for a sunny bank holiday for you all.

sooz
xx

ZipadiSoozi · 29/05/2010 16:46

Mrs Cadwa... - oh bless, hope your ds's enjoy their holiday and that you can focus on your exams!

DO - Sorry not ignoring you, continued prayers for Morgan. xx

DutchOma · 29/05/2010 17:47

Soozi dear, your ds's homework is just that. HIS. His responsibility, not yours. If he doesn't get it finished on time, it should be his worry, not yours. There is help available, it's up to him to take it.
Tell him that from now on, you will no longer help him with his homework, if he grumbles ... tough. You are doing him no favours, sweetheart.

teaandcakeplease · 29/05/2010 18:51

Soozi - (as you asked) My brother still struggles, I confess I think if mum and dad had been a bit firmer but also praising/ affirming he may've turned out a little differently, but having said that he's now met and married a lovely Christian woman and is changing slowly with her and God. My parents are Christian's but they certainly didn't intercede like I do for my DCs. You're a praying woman Soozi and God is walking with you. All will be well x

amberlight · 30/05/2010 08:30

Prayer request from MaryBS. She's on holiday abroad with the family but ds is still sick. Can we please keep the situation in prayer, she asks?

Keeping prayers going for everyone else too

Hermya321 · 31/05/2010 20:45

Can you guys pray for me, I'm so tired at the moment and am starting to get my anxiety back as well. I've spent the last couple of hours worried sick about a non incident on the way home today.

I feel so all over the place at the moment as well. I don't like this.

I'm praying for you all as well.

Prayers for school holidays, ours has started off bad with the neighbours, resulting in ds1 being grounded and his xbox taken off him, so in for a rough week! stuck in the house, trying to keep things sweet with twins!!!! why does ds's behaviour always affect twins, makes me sooooo sad, what did I do in life that was so terrible, why is ds like this! I can't do it anymore!

PositiveAttitude · 31/05/2010 21:58

Prayers for you and DS Sooz. I do know how you feel, dont want to say too much on here, but living with DD1 was like hell for some of her teenage years. If I can be of any help, just to listen, or someone for you to rant at, please contact me at directioneeded at aol dot com.

Prayers for you, DS and DTs.
