If God exists, why all the suffering and evil in the world?

Hello :-)

I believe in God and am thinking about returning to church, but if God really exists why all the suffering and svil in the world such as the tsunami, poverty, murder and rape?

papillon, how can you say bloss is smary for not understanding your post? Bloss's comment sounds like an honest and open one to me. I am butting in here, (have only read back to your 9.33 post on Sunday) but FWIW, I can't really get my head round your argument either

i have been glad to have the opportunity to debate with both papillon and bloss and they are both essential members of religion spirituality threads who put across very different points of view. All i can say about Bush's foreign policy is that it seems clear to many in Europe that there were other practical factors involved in invading Iraq. For some reason Bush seems popular in his own country, so we can't discuss that. But i'll leave it there.
