Oh no, Dippy, don't cry. Poppet, can you really not share with any of us what has been bugging you for so long? At least I could offer a virtual shoulder to cry on.

Notquitegrownup · 11/06/2009 17:50

Aw, sending you a huge virtual hug and a large cup of hot chocolate, CD, with several marshmallows floating on top. Text/email me too, if you would like to. (And perhaps try to persuade dh to find a job north of London, so that you can be a bit nearer to us all??!)

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 11/06/2009 20:18

MaryBS · 12/06/2009 14:10

Just found this lovely prayer, wanted to share it, its for when you are feeling low and struggle to pray:

God, life seems so bleak and useless right now. I don't have any energy. I have no ambition to do much of anything. I am really feeling down. I feel "down on" myself and "down on" everyone around me. Even as I pray, I don't sense your presence. I am going through the motions, knowing that you are still with me.

I know that I am sacred and precious but they are just words right now. I know that my life has been worthwhile, full of many wonderful people and experiences, much happiness and joy. I feel little of this right now. God, all I can do is affirm the goodness of life and try to hold on until the darkness is replaced by your light and love.

Help me to spot the lies that my depressed emotions are telling me. Life is good. I am good. You are good. Grant me hope. My loved ones love me. Life will be beautiful again. Soon, I will see the beauty around me again. Soon, I will again know vitality and purpose, happiness and love. Until then, give me the strength and hope to survive this day.

Help me to smile and laugh, even if just for a moment. Be my strength and salvation. I ask you to restore me and make me whole. Fill me with the Word and the Spirit that I might be recreated anew. I praise and thank you. Amen.

DutchOma · 12/06/2009 15:59

That is very beautiful Mary, because everyone of us will feel like that at some stage or another.

And thank you to every one on the thread too. It's true I am in ahorrible place tonight, as I expect to be for a very long time.

Thank you x

ZipadiSoozi · 14/06/2009 22:20

Hia BW

Lovely to see you on this thread, prayers for you tonight, glad dd2 can help with lo,

M44 · 14/06/2009 22:36

His grace is sufficient.

That is my prayer at the moment.
ds1 much better although we don't know what he had a reaction to.
dh work situation ongoing.
My lovely m-i-l is suddenly gravely ill in hospital, we don't know yet what exactly is happening.

Despite all this we will keep praying and seeking God's will. We had a brilliant event at church yesterday and 2 full immersion baptisms today-wonderful.

Thank you all for praying-this thread is wonderful and it has helped keep me busy rather than worrying about ds,dh and m-i-l!

I repeat- 'His grace is sufficient.'

DutchOma · 15/06/2009 09:17

Weegiemum, how are you and how is dh? The news this morning seems to come fairly near your patch. Are you all alright? prayers for you in any event.

weegiemum · 15/06/2009 12:37

DO are you talking about the Swineflu death? Yes, there is a lot of it about here and dh has been quite scarily busy at work with it all. We wondered if me and dd1 had it last week but as noone else got it and we are both much much better our own GP thinks it was a different tummy-type bug.

We're ok - very wet today. I'm marking exams like crazy and trying not to think too much about my other issues till it is all finished.

Praying for you while on my lunchbreak, everyone!

DutchOma · 15/06/2009 13:55

Many prayers winging their way to you.

Hello all,

In the middle of a ginormous thunder storm here - lovely!

Work going well, though am very tired, the job is quite interesting and varied which I love...

Hope everybody is ok, lots of prayers for BW at this time and her family too...

Prayer request for poor DD, she currently has - chicken pox, after effects of MMR, teething and a chest infection DP is coping brilliantly with having a poorly baby on his hands

I met our bishop yesterday - bishop of chelmsford. I am afraid I didn't think too much of him as his sermon started with his opinion that those people who do not kneel for prayer or genuflect (make the sign of the cross) during a service cannot be considered as religious as those who do?!?! I was staggered by his attitude [grr] I don't think God minds whether I kneel or not, my being in church is a sign of my faith and my desire to worship... Discuss!

love and prayers to all

Jen - prayers for your dd atm, poor lo, lol at the bishop u met, I always sit, through prayers and most hymms, (only so I dont faint) so I presume I wouldn't pass his test. I understand the respect side of things, but some people cannot 'stand up, sit down & kneel' 90% of our congregation sit to pray.

Off mi soap box!

BOING!
