LovingtheSilverFox · 17/06/2009 23:06

Dear Lord, cup Anna and Finlay in Your hands, hold them tight to your breast and may your love rest upon their families and friends. Guide the medical professionals in theit treatment of these children. In Your Name.

ZipadiSoozi · 17/06/2009 23:15

LTSF - Silver, did God move those mountains for your house situation?

MaryBS · 18/06/2009 08:00

Praying for those children and their families...

I had a bit of an "argh" day yesterday. I had a potentially difficult meeting in the morning, which, thank God, turned out fine. Then I got a call to say DS had been sick, could I collect him from school. Then in the evening, DS who was now fully recovered was charging around "being a cannon ball" (something to do with Ben 10?) and cannoned into DD, knocking her into the wall, hurting her arm. Arm is still hurting this morning, so it looks like I need a visit to the minor injuries clinic! Argh! And of course DS can't go to school for 48 hours, so I'll have to take him too!

M44 · 18/06/2009 08:25

Please continue to pray for my lovely m-i-l. She has already had 8 units of blood and is due to have another 5 units as she is still bleeding. She has an immune condition which means she may not be able to tolerate continuous transfusions. The outlook is pretty poor really although if she does recover it is going to take months of rehab. She was up and about and independant this time last week.....

weegiemum · 18/06/2009 08:35

Just been praying my way through the thread - for you all.

Please keep on praying for me - my head is a bit of a mess today and I have a lot of work still to do before we are off to a wedding at the weekend.

Dh and I did marriage prep with a young couple form Bible College who are getting married on Saturday. A happy prayer - could you remember Marc and Suzanne as they dedicate their lives to one another this Saturday - they're a fabulous young couple with plans to go and work with street children in Columbia.

ilovegrapenuts · 18/06/2009 09:38

Yes, keep praying for a miracle. Heard today (baby Anna is niece of friend's friend) that it has been decided not to turn off the life support yet. The accident happened last Friday. Anna fell off a bed and stopped breathing for several minutes. All her family especially her mum and dad and 2 young brothers need our prayers.

LovingtheSilverFox · 18/06/2009 10:35

I am praying for all these situations.

Zipadi The Lord was moving mountains and then stuck a socking great valley in the way and said "May be you want to live there?" Basically we are moving forward with a house purchase, and yesterday we heard that a house we were very interested in, but lost due to bidding war, has become available again. There are pros and cons to both houses, and we have said that we would lay down certain conditions before putting another offer in. We are waiting to hear today whether they are prepared to agree to our conditions. I feel torn, because this other house we could really put our mark on, but the house that we have been buying is already finished. Also I feel morally tied to the house that is already going through, but would this other house have become free again if He didn't want us to have it???

A bit rambling, but I am very torn.

Hello, this is my first post on MN, have been lurking though. Apologies in advance that this is too long and it might raise sensitive issues for some. I am in something of a crisis and Christmas is making it much worse. I would be so grateful for prayers. To cut a long and complex story short, a couple of years ago I had a miscarriage and the aftermath of this revealed various problems with (longterm) relationship and it ended. The emotional fallout also led me to confront issues of abuse in my childhood by family members (which I had been trying to cope with, put to one side and hide)which happened for many years.
I found it too confusing, undermining and dangerous to have contact with my family, though I haven't been able to find the words to tell them why or to stand up to them, they were just told that I need space to get through some issues (they reacted very angrily). After the breakup I moved into rented accommodation, going from short term job to short term job all over the place (after a redundancy), have found it hard to make friends and to have contact with existing friends, to focus enough at work etc. I have bad insomnia and anxiety problems.
Today the whole Christmas thing hit me when I found out that the friend I was going to spend Christmas Day with (my only close friend) is going to be away (though I am pleased for her as it will do her good) so I will be alone. I have been sobbing for most of the day. It has thrown things into perspective. I feel despondent, lonely and exhausted.
I do have some hopes and dreams: to eventually get past all this sadness, heal and be empowered, to finally tell my family why I have had to break away and how I feel. I hope to be able to have a healthy relationship and a family of my own, a home where I can feel settled, greater job/financial security. I have worked so hard all year (in paid and voluntary work) and now I feel as if there's nothing left to look forward to over Christmas and can't afford a break. In fact over Christmas I need to look for yet another job as my current work will possibly end in May. I had hoped that I would have made more progress by this Christmas. I would be so grateful if we could pray together for healing and an end to this anxiety which is holding me back (even checking email or opening post is terrifying for me, which is causing trouble: I need to get that done over the weekend and am worried what I might find and guilty about not keeping on top of things). It is almost as if I am trapped in an anxiety box and while I know that I need to take action to improve my situation, I have run out of energy. I can't see how things can improve. And now it is almost 4am, insomnia!. Anyway, have a lovely Christmas and apologies for overly long post.
