From where I'm sitting, there seems to be an absence of strawberries, no matter how still I sit and I've spent so much of my life under one net or another whilst others fly. I'm not sure I'm very good at these metaphors.
Have arranged all the things I can help with for the funeral for tomorrow. Have to try to go to a new church this evening and not sure I've got the energy to manage it, but I need to. Shall be praying that I don't shut down completely.

BouncingTurtle · 22/05/2009 08:58

Myjobismum - yes I ended up with a snot covered booby this morning, thanks to ds the snotmonster!
And have you noticed that when you attempt to wipe nose you think you are torturing them by the carryon?

Weegiemum · 22/05/2009 08:59

I'm just off to sit my Spanish Oral exam!
Please pray for me!!

Clockface · 22/05/2009 09:25

BT - yukkkk! Kids, eh?

WM - all the very best for your exam! Knock 'em dead!

Amber - just know how valued you are here. On this prayer thread we know your heart that you are such a genuine person - that matters most of all, keeping the 'rules' is secondary. Try not to worry. Praying for the demands that are on you atm, esp, the funeral for today.

I am off to a children's farm today - beautiful day for it! Dc have an INSET day so we are starting the half term today. Thank you God for lovely days with our dc!

notsofarnow · 22/05/2009 09:37

No answers as of yet or dd. Very frustrating. She didn't sit her exam as she still in hosp.

Will update when i know.

CaptainCaveman · 22/05/2009 09:42

Hello ladies, I haven't posted in quite some time. Delighted to report that, Praise God, the cave move went well and we've been here now for 2 weeks. It's so peaceful here compared to the road we did live on .
I must thank all of you for your continued prayers over the past year - I'm so thrilled that God guided us to this house .

Oliver is now 9.5 months old . He's crawling commando style and is a very smiley baby - making up for not smiling at all until he was 14 weeks old

Dsis has gone through her 4th detox and mum reports she is much more pleasant to live with at the moment. Dneice has settled well into her new school and is thriving with the routine you get with sensible adults caring for you! She has joined a gymnastics club too which she loves. I'm so thankful to God for saving their lives. I pray that dsis can stay off the drink this time.

I'm praying too that Oliver will soon sleep through the night. He has yet to achieve that milestone!! I am so very tired - but then I haven't had an uninterrupted nights sleep in 14 months!!!

Thats a bit me, me, me

Praying for you all using wonderful CDs round up

Swaliswan · 22/05/2009 14:50

Please excuse any typos as DD2 is sprawled on me atm so am typing with left hand only!

All is well in the Swali household and we're still adjusting to life as a family of four. I'm very happy if a little tired.

Please will people pray that we manage to get the flat sorted out for people coming to view it tomorrow? We haven't had any viewings since B was born and it is a tip atm. not sure how we're going to get it close to perfection. Also, please will you pray for some guidanceabout what we are supposed to do WRT renting/buying a house and also careers for DH and I could both be developing a lot over the next few years but not sure exactly how or how we can afford to do the things we would like to. I really hate the feeling of knowing that things are about to change a lot but I don't know how. It's quite scary feeling so out of control.

BouncingTurtle · 22/05/2009 16:38

Prayers for Swalis flat cleaning and viewing!

Prayers too for Naomi, may she feel better soon.

Captaincaveman - glad the move went well, and your dneice is doing ok at schoo. Pray that your dsis can continue on the road to recovery, and prayers for your mum to, may the Lord give her strength as she copes with your dsis's illness.

M44 · 22/05/2009 17:32

Please pray-feeling very vulnerable and distant-not from God but from people. Thank you.

notsofarnow · 22/05/2009 19:14

dd is still on the emergency list awaiting surgery - she was next on the list at 1 p.m

JentlyDoesIt · 22/05/2009 19:20

Hi ladies,

Thank you to DO for posting for me. The news is now out so I can say what's happened.

DP was arrested 2 months ago and charged yesterday for the rape of a woman in 1994 I have now doubt that he did not do it. He has today been bailed from the magistrates court and will be electronically tagged. He has bail conditions to adhere to. This is the link to the news piece...

here

... Please pray hard for us at this time. I will be on the thread when I can to update you all but it looks like the trial will take place in August. It has been all over the local news, radio, papers today... I am exhausted but so pleased to have him home.

Thank you xx

Oh Jently I pray God will be with you and your DH at this difficult time, and that justice will prevail.

NSFN - prayig for your dd too.

BouncingTurtle · 23/05/2009 07:00

I have another prayer request, for an unknown lady.

During the last day of my training, one of my fellow classmates, Bunmi, took a call from some one, helped her with her query and then when she asked "Is there anything else I can help you with?" The lady replied with "Can you tell me I'm not going to die? The hospital said I've only got 6months to live!".
Bunmi just didn't know what to say, she told us she had tears in her eyes when she tried to reassure the caller she would be okay
I just want to offer up some prayers, that God watch over this lady and help her come to terms with her terrible news I know God knows who she is is, even if I don't.

amberlight · 23/05/2009 07:28

Prayers for you all as I read through the messages. May God bring hope and calm. Jently, sending you a very very large cup of virtual tea. I know I don't cope with hugs that well and you might not want one and mumsnet would rather we didn't, but please consider yourself in receipt of a virtual hug all the same. There just aren't the words, are there...Hope you have a quiet place to retreat to, out of the public gaze? And good friends to be there for you.

Prayers of praise that thanks to the lovely team working with me, and the fantastic speakers, yesterday's big disability conference was a success.

Prayers for peace, for my friends A and K who are no longer with us, and for their families and friends as we still come to terms with the sad losses.

CaptainDippy · 23/05/2009 09:05

{{{{{{{{{{{{{jen}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Prayers for all who post and read here.

amberlight · 23/05/2009 19:44

I don't know about incredible. Bloomin' annoying is I think more like it, but thank you

Prayers of praise for a quietish afternoon of gardening and a walk through an ancient and very beautiful village. Very restoring for the soul.

There was so much to think about in the disability conference from the speakers. So many good things, so much that was positive and affirming. And so good to have the conference centre doing all they could to help each one of us. They even coped with the mattress and the big squashy cushion.

DutchOma · 23/05/2009 19:59

"They even coped with the mattress and the big squashy cushion".

That's a very intriguing sentence Amber. Did you bring your own? Or request same?

amberlight · 23/05/2009 20:10

I brought my own and very useful they were, too. In case people are wondering, it's for relaxation purposes when stressed out by having to organise a large and noisy conference. When it gets too much, we could retire to quiet prayer room (singly, I hasten to add) and recline upon said mattress and hug a cushion. It works. Well, it works for some of us. It also alarms the senior team members when they go in for a quick prayer , but hey ho, can't please everyone all the time.

notsofarnow · 23/05/2009 20:37

dd is now appendix free. Just praying this is the end of her problems now - her temp is up and down and her hands and feet are very swollen but they don't know why.

jently praying God's peace into your lives just now.

Think I may try and stay in bed in the morning but bet I won't.
