Scripture to confirm that Jesus Christ is the Only true Son of God.,

Justmerach · 19/01/2026 15:47

Hi, I was following the “Do you believe in God thread” and it seems to have been closed. I read a post and wanted to reply to somebody who said that Jesus is not the Son of God. I just wanted to reply to them that why in Christianity in the scripture that we know that Jesus is the Son of God and explain why in my faith scripture supports that Jesus Christ is Only true Son of God.

Jesus is the Son of God but was also a prophet. He is also the redeemer to come as this post will explain.

Let me first say first in all three faiths we share much of the Old Testament and believe in the same God. I remember this topic right from my university days comparative studies between all three faiths.

I want to share a document about the Messiah prophecies about Jesus Christ to come that are in the Old Testament and commonly used online.

The Messiah prophecies have all be attached can be clicked on saved and enlarged. It comes in five images.

The word Christ and its Hebrew parallel means the anointed one which Christ is. Not added to that document above and to come to your attention-The Rod of Jesse in Isaiah 11 is also a prophecy of Jesus Christ to come. The Rod of Jesse/root of Jesse was the last rod for Jews and culminated with the Lord. Christians on this rod are his followers itself. God’s famous rods started with Aaron which placed which was placed in the arc of Covenant as a reminder and bore flowers as a promise of regeneration for the Jews. Jesus became as Christians our vine and we became him branches in the New Testament (John 15).

A photo of the Rod of Jesse from a church collection willl be attched in the next post.

It is Jesus the redeemer and heir to David who will redeem us all and the Jews to from exile-Jesus is from the offspring and roots of David (Revelation 22: 16). Some Jews believe that the Messiah prophecies are for David to come, but this is inaccurate and it is Jesus who will redeem them. "I will set up thy seed after thee (after King David), which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son (2 Samuel 7 12-13). God in this scripture also called David his servant and said that his Son was to come.

This scripture further points that Jesus Christ will be the one to redeem the Jewish people. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, the Lord our righteousness Jeremiah (23: 1-6). David will return in the new Jerusalem (Hosea 3:4-5).

Jesus is also known as the Prince of Peace and more attributes which do not point to who is to come as being a mere mortal being and this is mentioned in (Isaiah 9:6). “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

God also confirms in the New Testament Jesus as his only Begeotteon beloved Son –“this is my Beloved only son who I am well pleased" (John 3:16 ). Then in Luke Jesus was asked to this question if was the Son of God and Jesus said that yes he is the Son of God (Luke 22:70). He does not lie and the God the Father simply does not lie as well.

The miracles and healing he gave as we all saw in the New Testament that Jesus Christ ministry gave are well known in the New Testament around 40 in number they were as recorded in the Bible and I saw too with my own eyes in church and in my life, the healing that he gave me. I saw a child who could not walk once an after a few times of healing work at church he started to walk again. This was a miracle of Jesus Christ in our era. It is Jesus Christ who primarily who approves the gifts of the Holy Spirit this as he is the head of the church who appoints these gifts and roles of ministry (Ephesians 4:11).

The Church Body which are made of human beings are the members of the church and Jesus is also the head of the Church and we are part of this body (Ephesians 1:22-23). He promised to send believers a comforter after his resurrection Christ as a Christian gave me the spoken comforter which is the Holy Spirit (John 4:11)? The comforter is the Holy Spirit you receive when you are baptised of water and spirit..

The Son of God is an expression which indentified Jesus of Nazareth as the being who has had an eternal relationship to his Father (Psalm 2:7 ) "You are my Son; today I have become your Father." "You are my Son; today I have become your Father." Christ claimed to be the Son of God (Matthew 4:3; 8: 29; 27:54). (Matthew 4:3; 8: 29; 27:54). This too makes clear that Jesus is the Son of God (John 5:18). Also in the New Testament the term the Son of God appears in the New Testament almost 50 times. God also confessed that Jesus was his son at his baptism and at the transfiguration (Matthew 3:16, 17; 17: 5). Jesus also said that he is the Son of God (John 4:15) Revelation (2:18) (John 20:31) (Matthew 4:3) (II Corinthians 1:19) (Luke 8:28), the Jewish Sanhedrin condemned Jesus for blasphemy (Matthew 26: 63-66); (Mark 14 :61).

Jesus also was eighty times called the Son of Man which means God and the Messiah for humans in the New Testament. In Psalm 80 he was also called the Son of Man and was to called the Son of Man throughout Ezekiel to.

Jesus came to life as a mortal divine being through an Immaculate Conception. Angel Gabriel told Jesus' mortal mother to be Mary that she would overpowered by the Holy Spirit and receive a child and that would be God's Son.

This story is found in the Gospels- (Luke 1:26-38)-" And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David". The book of Luke is considered a highly reliable historical source which I know nearly all my life and it is the word of God.

I think in some countries more signs of Christ and the Holy Spirit presence will convince more people that Jesus is the Son of God and that eternal life is near and they will a season at least a while and will stay like young cubs parked with a lion on grass with him.

More history confirming Jesus Christ life is the Dead Sea Scrolls-
The Dead Sea scrolls contain (Isaiah 53) prophecy which is about Jesus Christ life to come. These scrolls were found in caves south of Jericho in the Dead Sea are and contain Biblical evidence the period of time between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament. There are two scrolls Isaiah, one being complete. To our understanding of the period of time between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament times, and to a better understanding of Hebrew and Aramaic.

We have done the 1st resurrection of Christ and are waiting for the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) which will happen in a twinkling of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:51-52) and then will come the 2nd judgement and second coming and judgement and then New Earth/Heaven.

We should be working in the field till he comes-"Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left." (Matthew 24:20).

You say that you both used to have the faith. Did you really believe it in your heart or did your parents just grow up in the faith and you followed?
Did you receive the gift of the comforter (advocate the Holy Spirit ) in John 4. Did you go on to develop your faith and show love to God and recieve the gifts of the Holy Spirit? In Ephensians 4 it is Jesus who appoints these roles in the church and these gifts and he gave me my gifts to.

People have had their faith confirmed through this and seen mysteries. I myself have had numerous ones. I have messages from the minsitry. I also have had healing for a nervous condition in 2024 without asking by taking the Eucharist. I was unwell and I noticed I was healed in the driveway going home. I also had an intervention in the church sitting and the breath and wind enacased me and I felt it with my sensory and I had an intervention for my brain on the spot for something else. They saved my life in 2014 also.

There has been others to. A wonderful was gifted to me by the Holy Spirit to help with one of my conditions to understand it. My minister said the Holy Spirit can do so many wonderful things. One of the sermon was stamped by the Holy Spirit with a picture of anti slavery and I still have the sheet. It was plain paper and they did it themselves.
I have seen miracles t with others and seen water actually being blessed at church not by ministers. Peoples accounts to and the word of God. I know it is a true live faith.

I was a believer yes. And it was not easy to de-program myself.

I done it by saying to myself "no more whataboutisms".

No more " what about this verse, or what about that verse". Face each verse head on, if you like, and read what it says and not what I want it to say.

And it was acts 5 that started me off. Why were the couple killed, while the apostles did not bat an eyelid. These are the folk who heard Jesus, and yet here they are ignoring it all.

Then, as I said, I read Mark with an empty mind. And I went wow. Now I see.

I don’t understand. Are you actually saying that you believe the Holy Spirit stamped a sheet of blank paper with an anti-slavery image? And that you were miraculously healed in church numerous times? Who is the ‘they’ that saved your life in 2014? What do you mean by ‘messages from the ministry’?

Also, I thought you were a Catholic? What you describe sounds more like Pentecostalism or a fringe movement like the Charismatics.

GarlicBound · 07/02/2026 14:13

I also have had healing for a nervous condition

They saved my life

You've mentioned the divine interventions for your health in other posts. I'm very happy that you're feeling better now.

While FULLY respecting your privacy, and stressing that I'm NOT implying anything at all, I'd like to ask whether your miraculous 2014 recovery involved a head injury or a neurological condition? If it's the case, it would help me understand your unique debating style.

It was a question I asked not really for you about baptism and being given the comforter and the gifts by Jesus Christ who appoints these roles.I wondered what had happened for you. It was really meant for the other member as they are so verhement in this that people who have had their faith confirmed through the Holy spirit and had supernatural things happen cannot say that the faith is confirmed to them. As I mentioned before, my minister should weigh in about Acts 5 when I meet them on the 15th.

I was baptised in primary school. I attended a Catholic school and I saw one day with my brother like a mist figure in the living room and ran out. We sprayed mist in the room and ran away. It wasn't connected to Christanity. We both was sensitive and saw it. No idea what it was. It wasn't till 16 that I set about my faith myself and saw a mystery at 17.. My gifts of the Holy Spirit wasn't given to through a traditional Catholic church. Although there are Holy spirit Catholic gifts of the Holy Spirit church's today.

They can be given and some Catholics in traditional church's may not realise them and they can have the fruits of the spirit which is different. You have to develop them. I never asked God for this, but you can ask God for the Holy Spirit (Luke 11) and also pray to Holy Spirit.

No it didn't involve anything to do with my head. I find that some of you have an odd style, guessing I said something when I never wrote it or it had thought about it yet. Some didn't understand why the OT is needed about Jesus being the Son of God and that was for the other Abrahamic faiths. They didn't understand why I mentioned the Holy Spirit as it is Jesus who appoints the gifts today.

Your writing style, particularly your syntax, is just rather difficult to understand. I imagine that is what @GarlicBound is suggesting when she wonders if you had had a head injury or neurological event. I’d wondered myself from your writing whether English was not your first language, or whether you had a learning difference.

ETA By which I mean no disrespect, obviously. I’m used to reading for the content and disregarding syntax and spelling to an extent with dyslexic students, for instance.

The Holy Spirit put something on the sheet on the sermon paper meaning anti slavery. I asked my minister and they said they said that the paper is plain that they use the Holy spirit can do mysterious things including this. The sermon was anti slavery Isaiah 9. I still have it. I took a photo of it. This happened about one month ago.

I had healing without asking for a nervous condition by taking the Eucharist in 2024.I am a follower of Christ and non demoninational. I don't disagree with anything in the Catholic faith, although like some people I like to have a more personal relationship with God and am non demoninational, My parents were Christians but raised us in Catholic schools. Catholics are Christians to. I went to the Holy Spirit gifts church for a few months at 17. I go to anglican and catholic church's today as a non demoninational Christian. Demoninations are not so important as long as they are following Christ's true teaching.

But the Westminster Cathedral prayer groups are completely standard, mainstream Catholic prayer groups who say the rosary, or do silent/contemplative prayer, or have a devotion to a particular saint. With the possible exception of the charismatic group, there won’t be any miraculous healings, unexpected winds, or the Holy Spirit writing (drawing?) something on a piece of paper.

And the other link is to a specifically Nigerian Catholic Church group with strong African cultural influences I’ve often seen in other denominations in the UK, Ireland and the US.

Interesting, I grew up in a time where you did no homework at school. I went to a Catholic school that I played a lot and was myself. I moved to another at 8 and it was work orienated, but I think in learning I may have been behind.
I went to university and was guessing a lot how to do grammar. I was always good at writing my teachers said at secondary school, but grammar etc and some spelling wasn’t the best. I did well at some subjects like RE and Art. My memory was excellent for the scripture at that point. People used to ask me what they was. Like a phone book.

I used to get marks docked of at the first year of undergraduate like 10 but still get a decent mark. The word processor helped and it reduced it. Then a computer helped with word. I write pieces, but debating may be is not strength and it wasn’t my gift either.

I am a quiet person and don’t speak much in the real world. I have been diagnosed with autism which I had since childhood. Now dyslexia or something is not profitable to me now, they didn’t diagnosis this at school and I am done with learning qualifications. I came out with 2:1 and may be could have done higher if not the grammar and did postgraduate study and passed with my grammar. I would be blocking services for young people to enquire by my GP. I probably have something else to called hyperlexia but it isn’t related to writing.

My brother went to a private school and his grammar is great.

It doesn't matter where you go if you find it difficult in a Catholic church to grow spirtually and receive the gifts, you could attend somewhere else and speak to a minister about it. A european Anglican church minister took the sermon I posted a few pages back on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and you could get them there as well. They are really catching up with these gifts. The church I go to the Anglican every month does healing and wholeness and anoints with Holy Oil and give the Holy Spirit touch for people who are ill. They do this healing by using the gifts of the Holy Spirit to do this and that is what Catholic ministers use to do healing with oils for the sick. Healing is one of the 8 gifts of the Holy Spirit and some ministers are given this gift by Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Btw, that church I have looked at some photos all diifferent ethnicities seemed to be in it. I think they would be good for starting someone with their gifts if they wanted and was Catholic and someone coulld decide what they wanted to do and where to attend after.

Saints like Catherine of Siena had the gifts of the Holy Spirit as she had visions from a child and this is the gift of prophecy, so some Catholics do get these gifts.

The Westminister group has one prayer group that might help and you don't know unless you ask them if interested. The prayers seem to be quite extensive and spirtual.

How would my life be better with the Holy Spirit compared to without it?

I think it can be different for everyone. For me I was baptised in primary school and the Holy Spirit may have been helping me unawares, and I did believe. I started more of my own journey at 16 as I was looking for a miracle and decided to start praying for it. It led me to go another church and I was given one of the gifts there by showing faith.
I was given a gift to see visisons given to me by the Jesus Christ ministry through the Holy Spirit. They were confirmed and supported Christ's ministry. I did this for a few months. It wasn't because I was a minister but because life would be quite difficult at times and it would help to protect me.

I have had a life before these gifts and after them and so know the difference.
It hasn't been al plain sailing life isn't, but God has done what he said what he would do. It has helped me and more than that. For over a decade from 17-41 it went not developed by me but I saw its manfiestations of its brilliant light and that was comforting to me and helped to motivate me. It felt like a friend being around. After 41 I got a few visions for myself but as not working in the ministry directly, but just attending these for me alone. It has helped and comforted me as Jesus Christ said he would send, the Comforter.

There are 8 gifts and they are given as best suited to the indvidual through faith and picked by Christ's minstry for them in Heaven. Some people may be best suited to knowledge or wisdom. It can help protect some people to. The Holy Spirit can give people comforting words like they did to Autum Miles when troubled and abused and it gave them hope for the future and motivation to. They have a podcast as well
https://www.premierchristianity.com/testimonies/from-domestic-abuse-to-new-creation/14330.article
Having the gifts allows more communication from the Holy Spirit from Jesus Christ mmintry.

The Holy Spirit has many roles, helper, protector, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, standby, comforter, counsellor, and sanctifier. The gifts are 1 Corithians 12.

It can help protect some people to. The Holy Spirit can give people comforting words like they did to Autum Miles when troubled and abused and it gave them hope for the future and motivation to. They have a podcast as well

You haven’t said how my life would be better?

@Justmerach

Question for you.

My DD is 13. She has no exposure to Christianity at all. Not on TV, school, popular culture etc. I don't think there is any religion at her school at all. Not UK.

If you were to explain Christianity to my DD, a totally clean slate, do you think you could do so without it sounding totally ridiculous ?

Try it as a thought experiment.

Terrribletwos · 07/02/2026 15:58

And to add, the texts and quotes from the Bible all seem rather complicated to me. Why would God make them complicated and open to interpretation? Why would have it that only scholars could make sense of what he says?

I mentioned about explaining the Trinity to someone and asked my minister about this. I used the definition from the City gates church which has good defintions I found. I went there once in 2018 to thank God for something. I attended once and then attended a local church. Someone I know went there.

This is what my minister about understanding the Trinity.-
I wonder if this link helps?

I would add that the whole Trinity is involved in creation, redemption and sustaining us because of the oneness and Unity of the Holy Trinity. God is one substance, three persons and also beyond our full understanding..

The where I got the previous explaniation-
We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

You mentioned that God gave you special treatment. But why?

That was not what I was not trying to do here, I am not a minister or a street preacher. I will try here thouh.

I would say keep it simple. I would say we have God who is the Creator of the world and that he made animals, human beings and gave us water and nature. I would say that God made the world in seven days. I would say that the God the Father was the God of Israelites in the Old Testament and in the New Testament God gave us his son who came as fully divine and human and born through a mortal human being woman and man through the Holy Ghost. Mary fell asleep and then was found with child via the Holy Ghost. Mary was told that she would be the mother and carrier of God’s child and this message was given by an Angel called Angel Gabriel.

God’s 10 Commandments in the Old Testatment are repeated in the New Testament. Jesus said we should follow these laws. Jesus Beautidtdes in the New Testament also teach us to be fair and kind human beings.

In Christianity Jesus brought about a new law teaching forgiveness and love. The love of God was the 1st greatest commandment and loving others as we love ourselves was the 2nd most greatest commandment. Christians believe in Jesus that he died for their sins and through this they may receive life after death in the New Earth or Heaven. God decides where Christians will go after life on earth when Jesus Christ returns to earth.

Yeah, it's just like "Your Mum" 😂 Put Woman at the centre, then Wife, Mother, Daughter on the three outer blobs. No-one has any trouble understanding that their mother is a woman all the time, and is not being a Wife while she's being a Daughter - and so on.

Well, a few excruciatingly with-it genderists might claim to have difficulty with that, but we'll ignore them ...

Remember, she has started evolution, biology, geography etc.

So you are going to start by telling her that is all wrong ?

This is a question that the vast hierarchy of priests, other ministers and thousands of theologians are best-placed to answer ... 💰📖💶

There has been lots of wars and terrible events since the time of Noah. Why did God act in that time and not now or not sooner? Why did he act in the time of Noah ...and now he is waiting?

And so it goes...can't be answered...except by God maybe..
