Notquitegrownup · 04/02/2008 12:16

Oh piriton is wonderful. It helped lots.

The spots come in three waves, three days between each wave, and tend to move to different areas. Do check all orifices, as the spots can go into any of them . Mouth and throat is not the worst!! [sympathy emoticon]

Sending her a big hug. The first week is the worst.

Praying for spotty Dippies and tired brains

Ds won the school Scottish poetry competition on Friday - I'm v proud of him. Each year group learned a different poem to recite - he made up actions to go with his and that seems to have impressed the judge. He decided he'd memorise every other year group's peom too - so we've had a bit of a Scottish wordfest this weekend. Bit bizarre sounding though as ds's accent is still SE English through and through

But he could still do with prayer for his lack of concentration in class. He's interrupting his teacher and disturbing the rest of his group. Still fidgeting a lot too

notsofarnow · 04/02/2008 13:29

A prayer for you all, especially those who are ill:

We hold up our smallness to your greatness
Our fear to your love
Our tiny act of giving to your great generosity
Ourselves to you
Amen

MaryBS · 04/02/2008 20:00

Podmog, how did you get on with the Vicar? I'm available to talk to too, if you need someone - I can recommend NSFN though, she is used to me crying down the phone at her! .

Maybe the Vicar was getting at them, rather than you? To my ears, it sounded more appropriate to the way THEY are behaving than yourself.

CaptainCaveman · 04/02/2008 20:19

((((Podmog)))) may the Lord bless those who hurt you and show them the error of their ways. I'm really sorry to hear you are having to go through this

PRAISE GOD!! My friend had her ds today, one week overdue. Apparently "he effing shot out" (my dfriends description!) He arrived 19 mins after they got to the hospital. All well, 8.5lbs. Praise the Lord for new babies!!

Dh currently suffering man flu, poor thing has been quite ill. Came home from work early which is most unlike him.
Ds also ill, had to fetch him from nursery at 4pm coz he had a temp of 38. Bless him. He's in bed now, coughing away to himself. Praying they both recover soon.

I'm off to gp today for more anti-mad tabs . Then we have our nuchal scan tomorrow morning first thing!!! nervous and excited......

Praying you all have a quiet peaceful day, and may see God in all that you do

amber32002 · 05/02/2008 09:17

Goodness me, Podmog - what a situation for you. I've spent so much of these last weeks listening to friends who have experienced a lack of support in their churches and groups, and had such a bad experience myself....shall be praying for all of us, that we find peace and healing in our faith lives, support and friendship here and elsewhere.

bobsmum · 05/02/2008 09:22

Hi everyone

I just found a text from Saturday from my friend who had the twins the other week.

The wee boy twin is in hospital with breathing difficulties - probably the result of an infection. Pray for a quick recovery.

Could you all pray for him and the family.

He's in hospital in Edinburgh which is a couple of hours away from here, so it must be hard getting back and forward.

Her dh is self employed so can't be around much either and she has a 2 and 3 y o too.

DutchOma · 05/02/2008 10:02

Praying for that family Bobsmum. And for Podmog and all of us who are hurting through church situations. There is a lot of it about.

CaptainDippy · 05/02/2008 10:22

Praying for them all,BM, especially that precious little boy. Do keep us up-to-date. xx

hi all, thanks for thinking of me NQGU AND CD.

WASN'T OFFLINE FOR LONG THANKFULLY, JUST BEEN MAINLY, i mean only, lurking , and thinking of you all/ praying
dh recovered all the photos off this laptop, thank GOD,and saved them to disc.
dh has now bought a computer for photos / music only , and this one for internet, in case this one dies again.
just come back from toddlers , and usually ok, but it is very cliquey, well , one main group that are all friends and meet up at other times
a new lady came, and i talked to her , no one did from that group, which should reassure me that it's not me , but , as we have lunch there too, with 2 tables , ds and i were on own at ours, went to it for the highchair. 2 of the ladies who i know anyway as it's our church sat with us, and you know most times i just ignore it , but today it hurt. i thought if he was older he would wonder what was it me?
had our anniversary last week, so i have lived here 2 years now, i haven't developed any real friendships by now , so perhaps i won't .
sorry , ramble over
DS ASLEEP , going to have tea , and comfort eat an m & s cherry tart and cream.
any job news CD,?
can we do another meet up?

Swaliswan · 05/02/2008 13:32

Good afternoon everyone. I hope that you are all having a bit of a better day today. I had a fantastic day yesterday that ended with my dad coming over to babysit and DH taking me out for dinner as a surprise. It's almost a year since DH and I went out for an evening just the two of us and it was lovely.

A few little prayer requests if people don't mind.....

We are struggling with DD's nocturnal habits and I am finding things quite difficult to deal with during the day with increasingly interrupted sleep at night. Please pray that we find a gentle solution that suits our little family.

Please praise the Lord that someone from work has finally called me to confirm that they are doing something about my request for re-deployment. Please pray that it does get sorted out soon as they think I may have to take some unpaid leave until they can sort it out otherwise.

The other small thing that is going on in our household at the moment is that DH and I are suspicious that DC2 may have taken up residence. Whilst I would be ecstatic to be pg (and relieved that pg is what is making me feel extremely ill and even more tired) I feel a bit silly for getting pg when neither DH nor I are sorted on the job front and we are going to be rather cramped in our 2 bed flat if we can't find a cheap house to buy and develop in the meantime (we saw a bit of a shocker of a house last night that almost made me cry ). I'll let you all know when I find out for sure. Until then I'm feeling a bit nervous having had an MC in the past and complications with the last pg.

DutchOma · 05/02/2008 14:47

CD Yes, it would be nice to have them back, especially as they 'worked a teat' . I might do someone else a favour one day. Have you heard any more about Elkidee's project? I can start in a couple of days.
Sad to hear you had to lose it with your vicar,Podmog, I think they are under far too much pressure a lot of the time. Not trying to make excuses, just hoping to understand what is going on here.
SS so glad you had a nice day yesterday. Did dd play up for your dad? Praying for no 2, whether it has already taken up residence or not. Seems to me that with dd playing up you have every reason to be tired without being pregnant. Hope it soon gets sorted. Did you say you would have a bit of help from (health) visitor?
Mufti, wonderful to hear from you. Do you want me to give Kim a ring to see if you could link up?
How's dd2 CD? Full of poxes? Any sign on the other two?
