Thanks - haven't posted on this (well the old) thread for a while - was getting too big and I was getting lost).

Could I have some prayers to find a new job too please - I resigned from my old one as DH and I both agreed despite the money being essential to pay the bills and feed us - it wasn't worth my misery to go back. I have 2 weeks until I receive my last SMP payment - and then I have to have found a job!

bobsmum · 16/01/2008 12:56

Thanks CD

Have a kitchen planner coming tonight to design us a new kitchen. Tis a laugh really cos we'll just be sitting, nodding and smiling and then saying we can't at the moment . I was really hoping there might be something for dh in the pipeline by now, but not yet. Hopefully this kitchen company will hold a price for us for a while.

SOunds daft to say, but I am confident that God will provide us with this new kitchen at some point. He's already given us our heating and this house in the first place! THere are no worktops and only 3 cupboards - if you picture a portacabin with some stuff randomly standing around the walls, then you have our kitchen.

What we're hoping and praying for is a basic, cheap kitchen that will cope with a growing family, but will also be able to provide for lots of guests and maybe B&B at some point. So sturdy, doesn't need to be stylish (cos we're not!), long lasting, but comfy and homely. A WWJD kitchen

I also need a bit of advice. The clothing company I'm an agent for have asked if I'll do the Royal Highland Show for 4 days in June. It's about a couple of hours away and would be basically an early set up and late to leave. It's a massive agricultural show and tbh I could earn a couple of hundred pounds, which would go a long, long way, but I'll have at the most a 5/6 week old and depending on dh's work situation, I would be on my own and juggling feeding with erecting a marquee etc. It's really not possible is it? What do you lot think I should do? Would I be daft to miss this opportunity or do I just have to say no? Argh!

MaryBS · 16/01/2008 16:39

Bobsmum, sometimes kitchen companies will give you a kitchen, or at least a huge discount if you agree to become a show home and have pictures taken. May be worth asking?

As for the show, my gut feeling is that only a few weeks after the birth of your baby, you could be doing some strenuous work. If this is meant to happen, you are not meant to do it on your own, so will pray for help for you.

Sooz - WELL DONE ON PASSING!!!! See what the power of prayer can do???

FAQ - praying that the right job comes along for you...

CCM - stop picking your face or your head'll cave in!

I just want to share a God-incidence with you, let me know what you think, I've already had a reply back from that Asperger's clinic:

"Unfortunately we do not hold details on individual doctors in practices or which ones know about Asperger Syndrome. Having said that, by coincidence we have had a letter in recently from Dr O'Sullivan at that practice, about another patient, so perhaps it might be worth seeing her."

ZipadiSuzy · 16/01/2008 17:18

God definitely heard all those prayers of support, thank you from the bottom of my heart all you loooovely ladies!!!!

DO - I have dried my tears and ended up laughing my way through the day!!!

CC - Stop picking, she says Mrs Pickerooni herself you made me lol with your ds and his commun.. bread, sweetie, he's definitely going to teach his sibling a thing or 2, bright as a button!

CD - Wonder Woman!!!!!! thank you for the new thread, and prayers for a JOB!!!!!!

NSFN - Great you have support and understanding at the doctors, time off is obviously the right decision, now relax!!!!!! chin up and prayers for continued faith and strength.

Bobsmum - Pass the buck time and pray to God for an answer to your dilema! is that ok to do that

Thank you God for the beautiful and happy day, may it continue tomorrow!

Roseylea · 16/01/2008 17:38

Well done Sooz! You superstar!

Swaliswan · 16/01/2008 17:42

Just dashing in for a few moments...

Thanks CD! Well done Sooz!

DD has refused to eat her tea and won't stop whining. If these teeth don't appear by morning I think I'm going to commit myself to a mental institution. I was so tempted to shout at DD and slap her at tea-time. I know, I know. I should calm down. It would really help if DH hadn't suddenly gone away with work yesterday until friday. I don't hold out much hope for a good night tonight and I'm already shattered!

bobsmum · 16/01/2008 17:51

CD - can you help here?

CaptainDippy · 16/01/2008 19:34

Know those feelings well, SS - Sounds like you need a hot bath and lots of of chocolate tonight - Praying for patience.

I wouldn't commit to doing the show, BM as you have no idea how you will be at that time. xx Anyone who would be willing to come with you to help out?? Praying for kitchen provision. xx

Queen - Praying for job asap, know that feeling also!!

God-incidence indeed, Mary - are you going to go for an appt with Dr O'Sullivan?? Praying. xx

Brain emptied Need food and then off out to Pampered Chef Party .....

ZipadiSuzy · 16/01/2008 19:55

SS - prayers for strength and patience, while your dh is away and you ARE coping by yourself, if you live in the Notts area, I will help you, I have 'Home Start' they are a voluntary mothers help service, have you thought of getting any support, even if its to give you time for that bit of space, have you any family around you that can help?

love and blessings to you all, you truly are all gifts from God.

ilove8pm · 16/01/2008 20:09

hi again. Is anyone around tonight who could poss just send up a quick prayer on my behalf? would appreciate any. Got my childminding home inspection in two days and feel paralysed by fear! sitting here on mn(tis therapy you see!!) and there is so much i should be doing and my poor dh has to work late tonight so cant put up any stairgates etc that he had said he would do, as I am hopeless with drill, and I lost it and got really angry and tearful with him, and now he has had to go back out to work so I am sitting here feeling totally horrible and like I am going to fail! I know this is very small in grand scheme of things, I am selfish thinking its a real problem, but I just seem to be struggling at moment with it all

CaptainCaveman · 16/01/2008 20:11

Praying for you and your dh and your stairgates! Could you mark out where the holes need drilling so that all your dh has to do is 'drill and go'? I empathise - I cannot use a drill for fear I'd amputate my leg or another appendage

NorthernLurker · 16/01/2008 23:07

Hi all. Just popping in and trying to catch up a bit - great summary Dippy!

We have a bit more good news - dh starts his new job on Monday. He is really going to miss B though (and me and the other girls too of course ) so prayers as we settle into a new routine would be appreciated.

Praying for all of us on this thread as we juggle our many responsibilities and try to be what God intends us to be.

Notquitegrownup · 17/01/2008 09:20

Good morning all.

CC - I had a nuchal scan with ds2, as I was 41 at the time. It was really helpful - especially as I had done some research beforehand. I'll CAT you with the details rather than clogging up this thread.

In haste. God bless all.

Swaliswan · 17/01/2008 10:32

CC everyone in Southampton is offered a nuchal scan, but I turned it down. The results can only tell you how likely it is that your baby has Down's syndrome, not an actual result like an amniocentesis or CVS. We decided that it didn't matter to us either way and there is no way we would have risked the pregnancy (even if it is a small risk) by having an amnio or CVS if the results came back as 'highly likely'. We also knew that any major defects caused by down's syndrome should get picked up on the anomaly (20 week) scan so we weren't risking the baby's life by not knowing IYSWIM.

However, I am only 24 and I knew that my hormone levels (that are measured and form part of the nuchal fold result) were high anyway. I didn't want to get worried about something that still may or may not be happening. It is possible that the results are quite misleading and many women who get told they are at higher risk go on to have an unaffected baby. I also didn't feel like dealing with the issue whilst DH was thousands of miles away in a military hospital in a war zone.

I completely understand if you do the test. I just thought it might help you to know why we didn't. You need to consider what you would do if the results come back indicating that you are at high risk. Praying that you will get all the info you need to make your decision x
