parts 1, 2 and 3

well, DS comes pottering into the kitchen today saying, 'mummy, i was just going into the dining room, and a voice above my head said, hi DSname, naughty DSname....'" and it wasn;t DD as she was fast asleep on the sofa

so, do you think spirit child is back?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek !

Okies, well I was researching them so went to a couple of their "meetings", they all tried to convert me, called my own religion shit, said it was all bollocks and how catholicism have denied spiritualism but bragged about how many disillusioned catholics they had. I got quite angry at this as, even though I didn't believe in any of their crap either, I didn't knock their religion, I was respectful to them and asked polite questions, I didn't feel that they had the right to knock mine.

Then I went to a couple of "seances" where they all saw each other's Red Indian spirit guides called, appropriately, 'White Eagle' and 'Red Bull Horns' and stuff. Again I was polite enough not to laugh. One woman was convinced my mother had died. I told her that my mother was not dead and she actually said "are you sure?" I said I'd ring if they liked to check. No-one thought that was funny. They tried lots of times to conjure up spirits close to me that were trying to communicate with me, but no-one very close to me had died. In the end they got frustrated and fed up with me. I got the impression that you were meant to just go along with it all, not ask questions.

One young man came to the last one, he was obviously in a state when he arrived. They were like vultures preying on him and claimed, by asking lots of leading questions, to be in touch with his sister who had died just recently. It was so blatant what they were doing that I left in disgust and vowed never to have anymore to do with them.

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 20:56

how would i know if it was wrong though

also, we have them on most of the rooms, including ours and DDs, and the boy went in those rooms

I'll send Morty round, she'd soon see off the spooks.

RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 20:57

Lulu - Aitch is more Jew than you!

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 20:58

that is quite upsetting rhubarb, and i can see why that would put you off. i think it is like anything, you get good proponents and bad ones too. the chap who helped us out last time was terribly sweet, charged me a tenner for his petrol and that was it

OP posts:
Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 20:59

i have lapsed somewhat, to be fair

OP posts:
RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 20:59

you have to open it
check each and every letter is complete and not marked

Chabad will do it for you ...

interesting that the spirit has returned in the room which doesn't have a mezuzah

Aitch · 24/11/2007 20:59

that does sound like disgusting behaviour, rhubarb. i know a senior guy in glasgow, he's not like that at all.
(as an aside, Same Difference just got through on X-Factor AGAIN. that's because they're satanists)

aren't you supposed to get your mezuzahs (sp?) blessed every so often anyway?

Rhubarb · 24/11/2007 21:01

Aye, I'm sure they are not all like that. Heck, us catholics get enough grief! But I didn't like their seances or their services. I did go back time and again as I was doing research, but they seemed to have contempt for me for asking questions and not having had anyone who had died. I got the impression they were only concerned with those who "needed" them.

Shame as my all-time hero put a lot of faith into them.

RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 21:01

sorry lulu - i don;t want to upset you

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 21:01

to be fair, he was in the hall, not the dining room ! we have mezuah on the front door, kitchen, lounge, the bedrooms, but not the dining room or the top floor...........................

oh dear, am really all of a tizz.

OP posts:
Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 21:02

no, you didn't upset me at all

takes more than that!

OP posts:
RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 21:02

you should get them checked Aitch

and if you move house you should take them with you

and never paint over them

Rhubarb · 24/11/2007 21:03

I still giggle at this though;
"Someone close to you is trying to get through, is it your mother?"
"Err, nope don't think so."
"Are you sure, she is very motherly towards you."
"Unless you know summat I don't, my mother is alive and well in Oldham. But I can ring and check if you like?"
Silence and looks of disgust all round.

RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 21:03

i am not surprised you are in a tizz ...

you will get it sorted - we just need to get a plan of action

think starting with getting your mezuzahs checked and put up

RubySlippers · 24/11/2007 21:04

at Rhub's story ...

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 21:04

right, will put them up tomorrow, do you think it matters if i do it, not DH, who is an atheist anyway...

Rhubarb · 24/11/2007 21:06

Get yerself a good catholic priest!

Hey, we'll come round and exorcise you all. No no no, honestly, it's the least we can do!

Aitch · 24/11/2007 21:07

ah i knew there was something. i remember a chap coming round when my pal moved into her house.
rhuby i think the reason i'm not anti-spiritualists is that up here they do agree to be reserached by academics etc. my default position would be .

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 21:08
