Some help needed here
Thanks

DumbledoresGirl · 12/10/2007 09:22

Could I please drawer your attention to this thread here.

If you know naswm, I know it would boost her no end if you were to respond.

Thanks.

DumbledoresGirl · 12/10/2007 09:35

draw even!

Notquitegrownup · 12/10/2007 10:42

Good morning all. Thank you for highlighting that for us DG. (How is NASW's family by the way? She doesn't mention them, especially her dh who was so ill. And how are you, too?)

Praying for NASW and Creambunnie (lovely name!) and for all.

Big hug Rosey! It is horrid when the dcs are unhappy and misbehaving isn't it? Mine are the same. I'm sure the home behaviour is linked to disruption at school - but it doesn't make it any easier, does it?! DS1 is 7 by the way, just starting y3. He seemed a little better arriving at school today, but we are walking on eggshells a bit. Praying for you guys at parents' evening next week, for a positive meeting.

I would appreciate prayers for me. I really want to live in His victory, but feel that depression/anxiety are creeping up on me again. Go Awaaaaaaaay!!!!

Prayers for all! God bless.

DutchOma · 12/10/2007 12:23

NQGU No I haven't changed my e.mail address. I'll send you one, then you can reply.

Notquitegrownup · 12/10/2007 12:25

Hi CD. So glad that your doc has started to help at last. Prayers that you find the treatment helpful.

Now . . . Hallow e'en. In our village it is rather a key time, with, I have to admit, a rather nice atmosphere!! Lots of kids dress up, the village shop stays open to give them all a bag of sweeties, the school has apple bobbing and a fancy dress disco . . So I have been reading about the Christian origins, including the practice in some areas, of villagers visiting houses and offering to pray for the residents and their loved ones - receiving a cake in return for their prayers, and wondering whether it's possible to get the All Hallows Eve back into Hallowe'en?

Any thoughts?

DutchOma · 12/10/2007 13:16

That is a wonderful idea NQGU. I think it would need the co-operation of your local vicar/minister, whatever, to explain these original intentions.
I know that the Hallowe'en comes from the evening before All Saints Day, 1/11, but thought that it had become connected with a belief that the 'devils' were allowed out of the grave for a night to wreak havoc. Why anybody should want to celebrate that has always completely baffled me and I think that a lot of people simply seem to think it fun for their children to dress up as skeletons or whatever. When our children were at school we got together as a group of Christian mothers and explained this to the school who then for that year and for the time that our children were at school changed it into a fancy dress party on the lines of your village.
Anything that can be done to turn this back away from Satan (who only needs a toehold to get a foothold) should be done. Of course All Souls Day follows All Saints and it would be good to offer support to those people in the village who have lost loved ones during the year.

podglet · 12/10/2007 14:54

Wow, DS was born on All saints day - how lovely!

CD - glad your doc is giving you some help at last. Hope your anxiety improves how is P's dribble rash now?

DO - are the peppermint caps still helping your poor cough?

Mary - what a lovely way to do spellings hope it encourages DS to do them next time too!

Feeling very sicky today very thirsty but not hungry. Going to lie down on sofa for a while as DS napping. Pray for energy for me, finding the afternoons very difficult at the mo and not sleeping well at night, all my joints ache. sorry, moan, moan, moan...

DutchOma · 12/10/2007 16:38

Podglet, I don't know whether it still helps. I'm still coughing a bit, in sort of spasms, peppermint or no peppermint.
You know you can moan any time to us, hope you have a better night tonight. Are you having things like fruit smoothies? Yoghurt?

MaryBS · 12/10/2007 18:46

DO - sorry to hear you are still poorly! Hope and pray you'll be better soon!
Podglet, same goes for you too!

CD - how are you today?

Panda - I think your sentence game would be a bit hard for him, but a good idea for the future though, thanks!

Must share this. At pizza praize tonight, N.s 7yo daughter was there. She came out with "I know Jesus lives because he made my mummy better" Awwww

NQGU - we shall probably be going to a "Lite party" in the next village, at the Baptist chapel. We had planned to hold our own church party, but it never came off, for various reasons...

Notquitegrownup · 12/10/2007 20:53

He looks so pale and his eyes so tired.

Please pray he is better tomorrow. I have rung in to work sick. My neck is really sore think it was moving sofa's to xh place on Tues.

I've been on a date this afternoon - with ds in toe. Felt wierd, but he has text me loads this evening and has asked me to his flat warming tomorrow (which i not going to)

And has asked me to meet him half way between his and mine next week.

Please keep praying

Lol xxx

Notquitegrownup · 13/10/2007 10:33

Welcome CB. Lovely to see you over here. Don't panic if you can't keep up with us all on this thread. We're a talkative lot! But it's lovely to meet new folk - and there is almost always at least one of us lurking here ready to listen or to pray, as needs be.

Thank you for your email DO! I know that Jen will be in touch soon, but I promised her that I would email you first, so that she didn't have to feel guilty about obtaining a cardie under false pretences!

For those of you who were kind enough to pray for my friends whose street appeared on telly in the summer under 4' of water, I heard just a week or two ago, that their new business survived unscathed/unwetted(?!) Many thanks for your prayers.

Prayers for your ds, NSFN - poor mite. And for you too.

God bless all.

CaptainCaveman · 13/10/2007 14:11

Hello all!! Remember me? Perhaps you don't recognise me with my super duper tan
Got my priorities right, phoned my friend to catch up on the gossip whilst I unpacked my case and put my washing in, then straight onto mn!

Had a lovely time, always glad to be home. Just found out dh's grandad died unexpectedly whilst we were away from a brain haemorrhage He was 93 and lost his wife last year. When dh's aunty found him dead at home he apparently had a smile on his face. Something tells me 'his Violet' had come to collect him

Will take me the rest of the weekend to catch up on this thread!!

CaptainDippy · 13/10/2007 15:51

Afternoon, older 2 with friends, baby P being an 'ickle pickle' , I'm here & DH putting together bunk beds from Ikea So there you go!

nsfn - poop that DS is so poorly, poor thing! Praying he would be better soon! Ooooooh to your date - are you going to see him next week!!!!?

Hi creambunnie - glad you made it - great to "see" you here!

Great stuff about your friend's business after the floods, nqgu

God is good!

Heeeeeeeeello Fellow Captain! Great to have you back! about DH's grandad, but so lovely about the on his face - reunited with "his Violet" When will the funeral be?

Think I'll take "ickle pickle" to the post box for some frehs air ....

CaptainCaveman · 13/10/2007 20:49

Funeral is a week on Friday - the vicar is on hols next week. Apparently dh's grandad died of a ruptured aortic aneurysm and not a brain haemorrage. (basically his aorta burst)Likelihood is he knew nothing about it, Praise God for His mercies. I'm really comforted to know Harry is in Heaven with God and Violet. Goodbye Harry, you will be sadly missed and always fondly thought of.
