Hi podglet welcome, i've not been round for ages but we really are an alright bunch.

I live in North Wales have dc and h and I have recently serarated.

My throat is getting more sore by the minute, it was me with stomach probs too, seems to settle till I eat something.

DutchOma · 02/08/2007 19:43

CC you may be a nurse, but you need to see the doctor
Podglet, thinking of your gran, I know how you feel about you not wanting to lose her but hoping that her suffering will come to an end.
When our dear 'Aunty' Edy died in my arms my overwhelming feeling was one of utter relief that her suffering was over and she was now with the Lord. It's now seven years since she died and I stil miss her more than I ever missed my own mother or my mil

Hi Everyone - thanks DutchOma for asking how I am. Rather mixed really - I find the holidays quite difficult with so much unstructured time. Life ends up so busy and that's great but I become obsessed with what social stuff I'm doing, imagining that if I didn't plan stuff, then no-one else would phone me.... really irrational I know but that's how I operate. I feel really frustrated as already almost 1/3 of the holidays have gone.... On the other hand New Wine was great - all about Freedom and I was determined to live in greater levels of it....

Welcome podglet - a quick intro - I'm 39 - 3 Dcs (DS 5, DS 2 and DD 1) - live in Sheffield and am a teacher. DH is a christian and we have been married 9 years.

mufti · 02/08/2007 20:28

hi to podglet - i am 45 with a one year old ds, and have been married for one year, i too have an unbelieving dh who gets lots of prayers for his salvation.
watch this space

mufti · 02/08/2007 20:28

oh, and we are in wiltshire.

CaptainCaveman · 02/08/2007 20:30

DO thanks for the promt. Duty done, been to docs and I'm bonkers.

I thank God for my lovely lovely GP, she is so nice and understanding and gives you all the time in the world. God bless her. Anyway, back on the anti-mad tabs but thats cool as they help me to live normally instead of wobbling too close to insanity . I know I'm being flippant, I am just so grateful that my GP understands mental health and is willing to treat it normally.

Has anyone else been bitten alive by mozzies? I went out sat night and got 4 bites on my back (had a long sleeved shirt on too!), then playing hockey last night I got one on my face (nice!) and one on my neck (also nice!).

NSFN, are you feeling any better?

CaptainCaveman · 02/08/2007 20:32

Just looked at your profile page - your mini podglet is gorgeous!! Well done you for making one so lovely.
Top choice on TV too, Top Gear is one of my faves (absolutely nothing to do with Mr Hammond, ahem).

notsofarnow · 02/08/2007 21:16

Better - No my throat is getting more sore by the minute, My eyes are great big puff balls not sure whether thats the remainder of the eye infection or whether its the eye oinment. Flipping heck i'm a mess.

Throat spray numbs it for a bit. As for stomach apart from one toilet session this morning been ok ish - felt a bit sickly but thats about it.

Hoping to feel better tomorrow.

DutchOma · 02/08/2007 21:38

NSFN We have just booked a holiday near Bala, is that anywhere near you?

Hope you feel better soon, it doesn't sound very nice.
CC - good girl, mad eh? How interesting...Don't have too many anti mad pills

Has anybody heard from Tasja?

notsofarnow · 03/08/2007 08:46

duthoma its about an hour away. feeling a bit better will see how day progresses.

CaptainCaveman · 03/08/2007 09:35

Ok so I'm not really mad, just suffering from panic/anxiety (again). Gp said serotonin is like any hormone in your body, that it can be underactive only they can't measure it as effectively as they can for eg. thyroid levels. Still, my anxiety is reaching the level where I just feel wobbly most of the time (ie. ok one minute, stressed the next, then I want to cry because someone says something nice to me). Anyway, all will be well (breathe deeply ). Feeling good today and going out to enjoy the lovely weather.

happy Friday everyone!

ZipadiSuzy · 03/08/2007 11:07

Praise the lord!!!!!! I am sitting here at the library, yet again and the librarian has just offered me her old computer, how KIND of her, I don't really know her so how fab is that!!!!!

I will pick it up on Sunday and my nephew will install everything up for me, but we will get away somewhere for a break next week so I'll be in touch soon!

Prayers for you all, speak to you soon

DutchOma · 03/08/2007 11:52

Oh Suzy how wonderful. Praise the Lord indeed

podglet · 03/08/2007 13:58

Hi Everyone!

Thanks CC, we are really proud of him and of course Top Gear has nothing to do with Mr Clarkson either (the hamster a little short for me - I like them tall, DP is 6'4"!)

Am feeling a little brighter today, the sun is out and it really does make everything a bit better.

Hope those who are poorly feel better soon, with the medication they need helping them along

I've been to Bala - assuming it's the Bala in Wales with the lovely lake? My aunt and uncle used to live near Wrexham, in a little village called hope - lots of family jokes there!

Hope you all have lovely weekends

DutchOma · 03/08/2007 14:58

Yes, it is Bala in Wales, my dsisil said she would like to go swimming so we organised her a lake
I am very happy because I found a pair of mocassin slippers in the market without soles. Had been looking for those for years. The chap said they had only had them in since Tuesday and they were already nearly sold out.

Just thought I'd let you know I've heard from the dippies and they are having a LOVELY holiday! They asked me to let you all know...

Podglet - I see you went to uni in Uxbridge - so did I!!! Well before you did though (I'm 40 now). Welcome - I'm also married to a non-believer. Praying for your Gran and your friend...

Sooz - what a LOVELY gesture! Can't wait to see you back on here "proper"!

DO - my tummy is fine now! (My knee is a different matter - think I've pulled a ligament from bouncing on the trampoline!)

CCM - praying for your anxiety. Did you want to meet up tomorrow?

God bless all

Mary

Notquitegrownup · 03/08/2007 16:45

A hello and byebye from me. We're off on hols tonight for two weeks - may get some internet access this first week, but we're tenting after that - weather permitting. Yay!

Hope your knee gets better soon Mary. A big hi to Mufti, (where have you been hiding?!) Sooz, DO and CCM. Prayers for your anxiety, CCM, and prayers of thanks for your GP. She sounds wonderful. Continuing to pray for your dsis too.

Gorgeous pictures Podglet!

Hello to everyone else too - PandaG and Worzella, MTGAA, Rosey, NSFN, Pudmog, Cargirl (are you still lurking?!) and everyone.

God bless.

mufti · 03/08/2007 17:57

always here nqgu - just dont often have a lot to contribute - read and pray though
have a good hols, we have a couple of weeks till ours, cant wait..
lets pray the weather holds
its probably just me, but i said to my mum the other day, i do pray every bedtime with ds , but other times , not quite as often as i feel i should, and sometimes , i think i mentioned this re naswm , there are so many people/situations, that need our prayers i feel i dont just know where to start sometimes, or how to prioritise iyswim. ramble over

MaryBS · 03/08/2007 18:59

{hugs} Mufti. I just pray as the prayers come to me. I do what St Paul said, about not "worrying our prayers". In the time you've worried about who to pray for and in what order, you can pray for everyone

So what if you forget someone? Our Father knows what is in our hearts, and what our intentions are. He can pluck them from there just as he can from any prayer that we actually voice. And if you struggle to find the words, just ask Him to do just that, to take the prayers direct from our heart.

I can't always find the right words for prayer, but I know He still hears me.

Romans 8.26:
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God bless

Mary

CaptainCaveman · 03/08/2007 19:05

Mary would love to meet up tomorrow, I'll be guided by your day so let me know when is a good time and we'll sort out the 'where'!

Have to share this with you - was just on the phone to my mum and ds takes the phone to say hello
ds "hello grandma, what are you doing today?"
mum "blah blah blah..."
ds "grandma, you're STUPID because mummy says you are!"

Oops, I was telling ds this morning how stupid grandma has misplaced the picnic blanket so we couldn't take it to our picnic!!

MaryBS · 03/08/2007 20:11

We could meet up for lunch somewhere? Email me on suttonmb at talktalk dot net, and I'll give you my mobile no...

notsofarnow · 03/08/2007 20:40

podglet I drive through hope at least three times a week to get to church. Small world isn't it.

Think I need to lay off anything with milk in, had a mcflurry earlier and my stomach dodgey again. Obviously my stomach can't process the lactose after whatever bug i had. ugh.

CaptainCaveman · 03/08/2007 20:41

Mary, have emailed you with my mobile number. There is a nice play pub quite near but it would be a shame not to make use of the nice weather we're allegedly going to have!
