CaptainCaveman · 27/07/2007 19:06

Praying here too

Please could you also pray for a dear friend of mine. They've been for their 12 week scan today and very sad news that means they will most likely lose the baby next week . Please pray for great news when they get amnio results on monday. The are a couple very strong in their faith. May God bless them and care for them over the next few days and weeks especially.

iloverunning · 27/07/2007 20:01

Hi

Just wanted to say on behalf of naswm a big, big thank you for the beautiful flowers and card which arrived yesterday. I saw naswm last night and she was SO touched that complete strangers who she has never, and probably will never, meet real life would be so kind as to send flowers to her. It meant such a lot. Thank you. And thank you to DG for arranging it.

x

CaptainDippy · 27/07/2007 20:42

Thank you for passing that on ILR!

Oh, CC, what horribly sad, painful news for your friends - I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through and how they must feel. So so so so . Praying for them as they deal with this news and for the precious little life inside your friends tummy. I saw a wee little gravestone in our local graveyard the other day .... "Born sleeping, woken by Angels." Made me cry so much. To lose a child must be the most terrible burden.

worzella · 28/07/2007 11:16

Hi everyone - well we survived New Wine - our tent was flooded on Thursday due to the most crazy amount of rain! Quite incredible... Had a great time learning about freedom. Pandag enjoyed it too and felt much less stressed than she thought she might.

Roseylea - MStibbe was amazing. He's such a good preacher isn't he?

Praying for people on the thread and for Misdee and Peter. Come on God - you can do this miracle - please do!

Hope everyone is surviving the school holidays so far...

CaptainDippy · 28/07/2007 11:48

Hi Worz - glad you enjoyed yourself - despite the rain!!

Right - I am off to the Wall of Corn til next Sunday - don't know whether I'll be able to post during the week or not; but will be thinking of you all and praying lots and lots (esp for Peter, Misdee and girls .....) I am sure Mary will keep me up-to-date & vice-versa .....

Roseylea · 28/07/2007 13:05

Hello, here I am filled with cold!!! yuk!

DO thank you for the link to Misdee's thread. I am praying for them.

Worzella I'm so glad you enjoyed NW (despite the rain!) and esp. glad that you liked MStibbe's preaching. Did he preach from Romans? If so he's been 'practising' the talks on us in our Sunday pm services. Yes, he is very good!

Well I have a prayer request - my brother didn't get the job on THurs - in fact he phoned as soon as he got back from the interview and explained that the commute was just too long. He has got another interview this coming Thurs, and it sounds fab - a 10 min walk from his house, a £6K pay rise on what he's on now, and the type of work he really enjoys. So he really wants this one, and he has asked every christain he knows to pray for him! This is the first time ever he has asked for prayer. Earlier this yr I committed to praying for him every day, (along with a couple of others) and it would be so wonderful to see him a) get a job that is just right for him, and b) come to faith. Last Sat pm I went to a party with him and there were lots of christians there and brother sat and chatted to some of them for a long time - these are pentecostal-types who wear their faith on their sleeve and afterwards bro said how much he'd enjoyed talking to them.

Sorry to waffle...

worzella · 28/07/2007 18:30

Yes - he preached 5 sermons on Romans 8. Really inspring about freedom. That's what i am praying for now - that my life would demonstrate Freedom...

onlyjoking9329 · 28/07/2007 21:46

thanks for all the prayers DH has had more brain scans now we await the results on 16th august. He is quite poorly right now and not up to doing much.i think MS and a brain tumour are a really bad combination.

BedofRosesitAint · 28/07/2007 22:00

Hi Everyone,

As usual I begin with an apology for not coming on very often. Life has been very busy, end of term, my weekend away with Dh, trying to catch up with all the tasks before we go on holiday. The school hols are great, aren't they?

(Fortunately we have not been flooded, am praying for all those who have been affected by the flood).

Have read through the thread and prayed and praised God as and were requested

I think I need to change my name...things are so much better

Do know when I will get the chance to get back on in the next 3 weeks or so,but that is no excuse to forget about me I shall be praying for all off you.

God Bless, Bed x

BedofRosesitAint · 28/07/2007 22:01

that should be 'Don't' not Do

Roseylea · 29/07/2007 08:13

Hi BedofRoses - good to see you again!

Just a quick plea for prayers - I am still feeling rotten - temperature, woozy, sick, constant headache, everything-ache... I am starting to worry about this turning into pneumonia (I've had it twice). Yukkkk!

Worzella I do pray that what you gained from NW will stay with you and bear good fruit in your life.

Bobsmum, it just occured to me that I never actually replied to what you said about doing paid youth work - sorry! I thought about it a lot, and my head was spinning with ideas for a few days - not that I reached any conculsions! And yes my dd is going to be 5 next week - wow! Have you heard any more about your dh's work yet?

Hi Mary - how are you?

Love to everyone - have a good Sunday! xxx

CaptainCaveman · 29/07/2007 10:49

Happy Sunday everyone! I got up too late to go to church . Ds was at grandma's so no alarm clock....

having a lovely weekend, hoping you all are too. When I say lovely, I don't include the huge pile of ironing that I'm about to tackle in that equation
Thank You God for pure, simple happiness.

Praying for everyone mentioned on this thread, and for my friends awaiting their amnio results tomorrow. Please God deliver them happy news.

DutchOma · 29/07/2007 21:09

Well we have had the most marvellous weekend. To celebrate my birthday (no, you may not ask how many ) we went to a posh hotel in Ashby de la Zouch, dinner at a nearby restaurant and a visit to Calke Abbey this afternoon. All seven of us, including dgrands, who behaved impeccably.
The weather was unbelievably nice, dry, warm and sunny. What a blessing.
Sorry Rosey to hear that your cold is no better, praying that it will not turn into pneumonia..just because you had it before..
Praying for onlyjoking and dh and of course ongoingly for Misdee and Peter
Going for an early night, the hotel was incredibly noisy and I didn't get a lot of sleep last night

Glad you had a lovely time DO!

Well I've been to the doctor this a.m., and I've got a nasty chest infection - yukkity yukkity yuk! She gave me some strong anti-biotics. I do feel a bit worried about it developing into pneumonia (the infection is in the same lung that got really hammered) and I know that my mum is going to be really worried for me! Please pray that I do get better quickly and that this infection doesn't go any further. It's dd's birthday thid Thurs, and we've got a lovely day out planned, and then dh and I are going out on Fri pm and I'm really looking forward to it. So please pray that I do manage to do all the stuff I need to do! (and want to do!)

Notquitegrownup · 30/07/2007 12:50

A hasty good morning to all. Aren't school holidays busy!?

Happy birthday DO, and to your DD, Rosey. (Such a grown up nearly 5 year old!) Have a lovely holiday Dippies!

Praying for your health Rosey and for your brother - so glad that he didn't get the job!! - and for you and your dh Onlyjoking, and for Peter and Misdee, and NASW too.

Boria - you could just become Bed of Roses! Sounds lovely!

God bless all.

MaryBS · 30/07/2007 15:25

Just a flying visit. If you recall, I asked you to pray for K's mum (K is one of my customers). I had this email today:

"Thank you. I thought you would like an update. The doctor was up to visit my Mum today and he cannot believe the change in her, she started to perk up on Saturday, is eating again and is much more cheerful. He has taken her off the steroids.

He must have been listening!"

Yes, he certainly was! Thank you God!

Praying for all who have asked for prayer...

DutchOma · 30/07/2007 15:59

Praise the Lord. How wonderful to see this sort of answer to prayer

CaptainCaveman · 30/07/2007 20:14

Thats wonderful Mary, such great testament!

Happy birthday DO - whereabouts are you if you were out in Ashby? I'm not too far from there (Nottingham).

Prayers for you too Rosey, praying that your antibiotics work and you are able to enjoy the stuff you have planned without feeling ill.

Please pray for dsis who has a visit from the HV tomorrow to try to help her out with counselling etc. Dsis is an alcoholic who isn't doing too well atm. Her dd is 4.8.

Also, please give me a little prayer and encouragement. Feeling stressed today, not sure why really, could be dsis or a dozen other things! Praying it doesn't deteriorate into more panic/anxiety. I'm praying its just the heavy weekend catching up with me (3 nights out on the trot and I've definately noticed how much more anxious I feel if I've been drinking any more than 1 glass of wine the night before).

Prayers for Peter and Misdee, please God provide them with their miracle.

DutchOma · 30/07/2007 20:31

We are in Northampton. As the crow flies it isn't that far but since we haven't got a car it is very hard by public transport. Might get easier in early 2009 when we get a train service through the Trent Valley.
Hope you soon feel better CC and cheered by Mary's news.
Do get better soon Rosey, thinking of you all the time. Are the children still being 'good' or is the newness of your condition wearing off?

Evening everyone - just wanted to come on here and thank God for sending me my cousins DD last night and for the day today. She is 11 and has been an absolute treasure today. She made me breakfast and a cup of tea this morning then entertained the boys all day whilst I managed to get the playroom sorted out.
I managed to get rid of 4 things on Freecycle which has freed up some space in my very cluttered house and I am now left with a great feeling of satisfaction!

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get to Church on Sunday because I was decorating my lounge with my dad and next weekend I have my camp over summer party so don't think I will make it then either but I am determined to get back to it after that - panic attacks allowing!

Love to you all and God Bless

Lindsey

How wonderful to hear from you MTGNA, and in such a positive mood too.
Never mind not being able to go to church, God understands all your moods and panics and 'underneath are the everlasting arms'. May He bless you richly again today.
Isn't it wonderful to see the sun?
