Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

@VioletCharlotte I would love one please, I promise to pass the kindness along once I learn how to use my cards.

Elphame · 24/05/2019 21:13

Thank you too Violet 🙂

speakout · 25/05/2019 06:26

Good morning wise sisters., up early as I have to take DD to the train stattion to go to work. Then car hunting, not something I enjoy, I have zero interest in cars. OH has wild and whacky ideas about car choice, I am practical. No huge rush as I have a working car and OH can use the company van so we have a week or two.
I am feeling a little stiff from yoga this week, Thursday was the real challenge at my Vinyasa class, Friday early morning yoga is easy by comparison. It's wonderful to have a challenge.
VioletCharlotte I would love a Tarot reading if you have time.

I hope you all have a magical day.

Good morning sisters,

I’m delighted to be savouring the beginning of our three day weekend. Not looking to be as quiet as I’d like it to be here; still there is space to breathe. I’ve been awake for hours and but am purposefully on go-slow! I’m currently enjoying a strong Yorkshire tea, toast with marmite and watching a mother blackbird teaching her young (now fully grown in size) to forage for food. Simple pleasures!

I hope the car hunt is a success and not too laborious speakout. I’m noticing how many of us have had car troubles (mine just cost me ££s) as we’ve moved into Gemini season.. does mercury influence travel as well as communication?!

Rosa it’s good to feel that your energy has brightened recently. It seems like you’ve got to the root of something and cleared it. Lovely stuff. Time to fill the space with something that nourishes you on your path- hot yoga against a background of rainfall sounds perfect!

Salem I’m enjoying reading your experiences of the different places you’re visiting on your southbound journey- I hope you can find some quiet pockets in Cornwall this weekend if you’re still there! The museum of witchcraft in Boscastle is well worth a visit if you get chance, and as I’ve said before Kynance Cove near near Lizard point is stunningly beautiful. Bit of a trek down to the beach but well worth it.

Violet I hope your DS had a good birthday. I always think that as mothers we should honour ourselves at these times too. After all they’re technically our Birth days aren’t they..

I hope everyone has a magical day 💫

VioletCharlotte · 25/05/2019 12:08

Good morning all. I too am relieved it's the weekend as I'm exhausted. I'm busy cleaning my house and will do some smudging later. I'm feeling a bit negative at the moment and hope that doing some clearing will help. I've got some music playing, the windows are open and the sun's shining so I'm sure my mood will shift. I find this thread is so grounding when I feel like this, so thank you all 🙏

Good luck with the car hunting Speakout. Not something I enjoy either. I'm like you, a car is a practical thing to get me from A and B. Not something I can get excited about!

Salem I agree with Yasmis about Kynance Cove, it's beautiful and well worth a visit. Let me know if you're still in Cornwall, as I know it quite well and can give you some suggestions for other places to visit (including an awesome witchy shop!)

Rosa there's something special about yoga in the rain. The class I go to has floor to ceiling windows looking out over fields, I live it when it rains. It's also beautiful at night, practising as the sun goes down 😊
I recently discovered Five Parks yoga on You Tube, I'm really enjoying her videos, so you might like them too.

Thank you so much for all the tarot reading requests. I'm looking forward to doing some readings tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely day ❤️

Elphame · 25/05/2019 12:15

Morning all!

I've just spotted the woodpecker that has been making huge holes in my apple tree - it's a greater spotted. We have baby woodpeckers in the nest in the whole. Can't see them but the noise they are making is considerable! I just hope they fledge and fly safely. The dog keeps most cats out of the garden but there are too many magpies around here.

YashmisCrone · 25/05/2019 13:39

I hope the cleansing lifts your spirits Violet I’ve been doing similar- I do tend to find it works on me as well as my home. I’d also love a reading if you have time- no worries if not x

Elphame Wow-Woodpeckers! I hope you can catch a glimpse of them and also that they survive the magpies. I’ve been chasing them away from the blackbirds here. They’re so brutal aren’t they.

LongingToBeByTheSea · 25/05/2019 19:21

Evening all. I'll just settle on a cushion and pour a peppermint tea if that's ok.

I'm having a very rare evening all to myself. Well, nearly. Eldest is here but he's shut himself in his room. It's been so long I'm not sure what to do with myself! I picked up a few of the books recommended on earlier threads so I think I might read a bit more and have a lovely relaxing bath. I keep thinking I should get on with some of the jobs that need doing, but I'm going to take the time for me!

Lovely to come here and be able to tap into the quiet, peaceful energy that this place holds. I do so enjoy reading all of your posts, so thank you all for sharing.

@VioletCharlotte I know a few have already responded this time, but if you have time on another occasion, I'd be very grateful for a reading please.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend 💫

StarStruckStarGazer · 25/05/2019 20:59

What are your feeling about others who claim to do stuff, like lead you on your spiritual path etc.

Have any of you used one? How was it?

Sending blessings to all of you.

Elphame · 25/05/2019 21:41

StarStruckStarGazer I had a mentor and teacher if that is what you mean?

He taught me so much, much of which came from the oral tradition which you don't generally find in books and on the internet.

There are though plenty of charlatans out there who will take your money for courses of dubious value and others who have their own agendas. There are predators out there . Never be afraid to canvas opinions and ask for references if appropriate and above all trust your instinct, If something feels "off" then it probably is.

VioletCharlotte · 25/05/2019 21:55

Elphame I've pm'd you with a reading. I can't send a picture of the cards though on pm, so let me know if you want me to attach on here.

VioletCharlotte · 25/05/2019 22:15

Starstruck I'd be wary of anyone who claimed they would 'lead you on your spiritual path', particularly if they're charging a lot of money for it. Unfortunately, in spirituality just like in anything else, there are some people who are driven by ego and a desire to make money. These are the ones to avoid.

The best teachers or the mentors are the ones who are doing out of a genuine desire to help others find their spiritual path. My mentor is a very experienced medium. She makes a minimal charge for her development groups (£5) which just about covers the cost of hall hire and her petrol. She does it because she genuinely loves working for spirit and wants to help others develop.

BlankTimes · 26/05/2019 01:57

Flying visit again, here's hoping all the mechanical and metaphysical

What are your feeling about others who claim to do stuff, like lead you on your spiritual path etc.

You've had great advice so far. I've seen someone be completely taken in by a skank who said they were a "spiritual teacher"

If it's someone online via a website or a forum and they want your money, ignore them.

If it's someone in real life, think carefully how you met, very importantly, did they approach you, are they trying to do stuff like say you're special, you have so much potential, they can see you have a gift, they can see that you want to progress and they will 'show you the way' 'help you to find your path'

That approach is often grooming with or without financial exploitation. You're supposed to feel flattered by their attention, they prey on your naivety and will seriously take advantage. They'll get you move your personal boundaries to do all sorts of things you'd normally not be comfortable with in order to exploit you for their own gain. they'll tell you you must do things otherwise you'll not make any progress.

Cults operate like that, perverts operate like that, scammers operate like that, conmen operate like that. They see you as vulnerable, they target you, start by stroking your ego, the grooming begins, then they make you do what they want in such a way you may not even realise for quite a while.

Genuine teachers and mentors don't do any of that. Question, question and question again, keep your wits about you at all times.

BlankTimes · 26/05/2019 01:58

I'll try that first sentence again ... Flying visit again, here's hoping all the mechanical and metaphysical mishaps are soon smoothed over and sorted.

speakout · 26/05/2019 06:56

Good morning sisters.
Strange evening last night. My mother's closest friend died yesterday, her daughter came around to break the news and stayed a couple of hours, I made hot chocolate and gave them privacy.
DD gave me a beginners ballet session in her bedroom. So interesting, and lots of crossover with yoga.
StarStruckStarGazer you have been given lots of good advice.
There are so many svengali type mentors out there- be very cautious. Their path is not your path.
I would go further.
If anyone considers themselves to be "woke" enough to lead others I would consider such arrogance to be a deep flaw.
I think the ideal mechanism to share spiritual knowledge is a flat organic structure- like this thread.
No one is superior .

BlankTimes has explained things so well.

Thank you to everyone who offered to tell me about places in Cornwall. I am home from my holidays now, but keen to book another break next year. I head south again and to Dorset over the summer, if anyone has any suggestions?

Having a toddler on holiday has caught up with me, I now have a stinking cold. Time to be kind to myself and get some rest.

VioletCharlotte · 26/05/2019 09:56

Speakout Sorry to hear about your Mother's friend Thanks

Salem I hope you enjoyed Cornwall. Dorset's not far from where I live and really lovely too. Whereabouts are you staying? I can give you quite a few suggestions of places to visit, there's loads to do with small children.

I've been for an early forest walk with my dog and now enjoying a coffee. I'm hoping to do some more tarot ratings later as I've got more time today.

Giggorata · 26/05/2019 10:22

Hello witchy ones, hope all is well with you all.
I have been taken up by life stuff recently but with you in spirit.

Seeing the Glastonbury discussion upthread, I have been dreaming about Glastonbury recently, over several nights, or more accurately, dreaming in Glastonbury... like you, Elphame, I have some reservations about the town and some of the inhabitants, although it has its intensely magic areas, of course.. perhaps it's time to visit again.. sadly, I realised last visit that I will never climb the Tor again, as infirmity does not permit. In fact I was told “there's nothing up there for you”. (I do prefer the energies at the foot of the Tor)

I shall be spending quite a lot of the bank holiday sitting in the garden watching the swifts and hearing them scream across the sky. For me, summer begins and ends with their arrival and departure.. and they nest every year in my shed roof and swift boxes. Amazing birds.😀.

FitzsFool · 26/05/2019 10:57

Hello everyone, just popping in for a cup of something soothing and a catch up.

It's been a trying few weeks but I'm ready to take my own advice and increase awareness, decrease thinking.

This gathering around the aga is always a good place to begin. And there's always tea....Grin

Have a lovely day sisters.x

Loyaultemelie · 26/05/2019 11:06

Hello again all, I haven't been around this week much as dd1 has needed a lot of tlc. That and everything that could go wrong has.
Speakout sorry about your Mum's dear friend Thanks
Salem I hope you feel better soon, what is it about small children and holidays that always equals colds?
Starstruck another who would echo the advice already given.

The bank holiday is going to be about recharging for me (and trying not to strangle dh who appears to be having some kind of mid life crisis which involves becoming an oversized toddler) as both girls are going out for the day with a good friend. I will enjoy updating my BOS and maybe do my nails. I have made a new friend to watch he seems to enjoy stealing peas and is quite conversational from a distance

Healing wishes to all who are struggling 💫

Any Witches Here? Part 8.
YashmisCrone · 26/05/2019 12:14

Good afternoon sisters,

It’s good to see everyone 👋

speakout that’s so interesting about the similarities between ballet and yoga- interesting how your DD is treading a path with similar principles but in her own way.

Starstruck I also agree with the wise advice everyone has given about teachers etc. Everyone seems to be a spiritual guru of some kind these days. Sometimes I think us humans have some kind of messiah complex embedded in our collective consciousness. It makes me cringe to say the least. That said, I think there are so many wise and grounded people we come across as if by chance when we tread our paths. What speakout says about

the ideal mechanism to share spiritual knowledge is a flat organic structure describes beautifully to me a place that feels right for learning. Indeed, like this thread.

Gigg your insight and acceptance of life changes really touched me. There is grace and strength in your words.

Lovely to hear of everyone’s plans, happenings and musings. I enjoy how in tune with nature everyone seems to be.

Love to those caring for others who are unwell and/or enduring others’ crises. A wish for peace as we take moments to take care of ourselves amongst whatever is happening today. X

StarStruckStarGazer · 26/05/2019 12:51

Thank you so much for your advice.

I wasn't tired last night so grabbed my Kindle. The person who I found text back saying they were busy. I really really want Reiki more than anything. Will have to see if there's any spiritual events about, although can't get to them by myself, DH def isn't going to be happy I'm spending money on this.

Yet bless him he bought me a tigers eye angel pendant today. I got my amethyst necklace when I was on holiday.

I promise I'll get round to replying to everyone.

VioletCharlotte · 26/05/2019 13:07

@RosaWaiting
I've sent you a PM with a reading x

SalemSpellman · 26/05/2019 13:24

@VioletCharlotte I loved Cornwall, I wish we could have stayed for longer. When I go to Dorset I'll be staying in Weymouth, it's already my favourite place, but would love to explore Dorset more. I would happily take up your recommendations.

BlankTimes · 26/05/2019 14:58

StarStruckStarGazer
I really really want Reiki more than anything

Are you looking for someone to do your attunement to R1 in person?

Never ever pay for remote attunements.

Taggart King's teachers may suit you, he's legit, been around a long time. Loads of info on his website, particularly "Your teacher will support you.
Your friendly and experienced Reiki Master will guide you through everything you need to be able to use Original Japanese Reiki straight away, for yourself and to help your family and friends. And they will happily be on hand to deal with any questions or concerns that you have in the weeks and months after your course.

There are several schools, the one I learned with was attunements only and focused on self-development, www.reikiseichem.org/healers.php basically you spend a day being taught about the energy level you're being attuned to, have the attunement, practise on the other students in your group and get a manual, then you're on your own for 21 days while the energy bubbles through and you learn via your self-treatments every day.
You are encouraged to independently work things out, so the person who did your attunement is not expecting much contact from you after it, they aren't your individual mentor or your spiritual guide or anything. You are told to go and practise on yourself, friends and family but you cannot obtain insurance at level 1, it's all voluntary.

Most teachers in all systems run Reiki shares which are great to attend after R1 and discuss your progress with other students and practitioners.

There is frankly a load of cobblers written about Reiki, in short, all attunements work, there are no right and wrong attunements, you don't have to have previous attunements 'undone' before having different ones, you don't have to turn it on and turn it off, use your common-sense filter with whatever you are told about it. The healing system that we learn in the west and are told is "genuine Usui Reiki" is actually a very dumbed-down by-product of a complete and rather interesting spiritual system 'discovered' and taught by Usui which is worth looking into. Usui never did the type of Reiki Attunements that we have in the west. See books by Frank Arjava Petter.
