Happy Solstice! I wish I was spending it in the forest or by the coast, but unfortunately I'm Christmas shopping in the town centre 😩 I reckon I've got about another hour to go til I'm done!

queenrollo · 21/12/2018 13:31

@shiveringtimber I feel bad now because I know what it's like to post in threads and be overlooked.
I am sorry that you reached out and no-one responded. Please accept an apology and come back and join us.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 21/12/2018 13:37

YashmisCrone, it’s this deck here:
littleredtarot.com/product/tarot-of-the-crone/

You’ll have to grab one quick if you’re interested though as it’s about to go OOP!

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 14:02

Sorry Shivering I read your question as rhetorical. I suspect there is too much sarcasm in my environment.

I know there is support here, but when gets bad lurking or stepping away is sometimes better, my frustrations and irritations make me more blunt that I intend and I know it affections how I interact with other people.
Unfortunately as the frustrations are being caused by the actions of other people (medical people not dealing with an issue and focusing on a non issue, and a patient who is a terrible patient) It is hard to resolve or ignore. Just a case of hanging in there and trying to do as best can and not tell the terrible patient they are being an insufferable arse that makes it almost impossible to be sympathetic due to the way they are behaving

I was tempted to order some tarot cards, but I am have two trains of though about it. And I am reluctant to bring them into the house when I am so unbalanced emotionally at. Would it actually make any difference or am I just looking for an excuse?

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 14:03

Damn spell checker. Affects not affections! Hmm

Loyaultemelie · 21/12/2018 14:24

Happy Solstice Everyone!

@shiveringtimber stay we are lovely really, Speakout is right everyone is just flat out backwards, I'm adding my apology now too!

I'm delivering the bulk of my Christmas cakes today, all have a little something special in them depending on the circumstances of the individual recipient so hopefully will spread a little Yuletide joy then Dd2 is helping make our Yule log for the table later, she is very young but I think she has some of the family stirrings whereas Dd1 not at all.

VioletCharlotte · 21/12/2018 14:43

Apologies @shiveringtimber, as others have said, everyone's just so busy right now. Didn't mean to ignore your post, please stay.

I survived town (just!) and I'm out walking the dog. It's cold, but it's so nice to be out in the fresh air, close to nature and away from the madness.

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 15:02

Hmmm. Be careful what you wish for folks. Issues being addressed = exclusion diet for Christmas. Not quite what I wanted, but it makes sense as a part of the treatment plan so not entirely surprised. Just glad I have already had 1 Christmas dinner this year. Blush

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 15:03

Violet that picture is gorgeous! So lovely and crisp and clear. I just want to step into it and soak up the atmosphere.

HillsBesideTheSea

If the time doesn't feel right to get a new Tarot deck then don't.

Trust your intuition.

The wheel will turn and there will come a time soon when it does feel right to buy a deck.

VioletCharlotte

Beautiful picture.

I have dressed both fireplaces today. I am lucky to have huge holly trees which bear loads of fruit. I am very mindful to only take a sparse amount to dress the house with. Also added eucalyptus (we had to top out our tree so we have loads spare) and ivy and I always put a sprig of rosemary in.
Just had dinner and youngest son joined me in lighting candles. He asked why I had decorated and I said it is the Solstice and he said 'the Romans celebrated that in the summer'....he is 5 and has picked that up from somewhere! So we've had a little chat this afternoon about what Solstice means and he is very excited to celebrate it with me. My eldest child has never been interested. I think small boy may have the gift.
Cloudy sky so I cannot see the moon :( I am hoping it will clear later so I get a glimpse. From about 9pm onwards I have the most amazing view from my garden so hopefully by then I can wrap up warm and go out to moonbathe before ritual.

Blessed Solstice to you all x

HalloumiGus · 21/12/2018 18:56

Happy Solstice all 😊 I'm mostly a lurker but always have candles and holly in the house for tonight.

Elphame · 21/12/2018 19:20

In a couple of hours the sun will start its return - I have a candle lit that will burn overnight to help guide it back.

I've lit the fire, lighted the tree and fireplace and I think I'm done. Time to open a bottle of my favourite gin, open the Pringles ( rare treat!) and read in front of the flames

Blessed Solstice everyone.

FitzsFool · 21/12/2018 19:46

Happy Solstice to all. Hope it brings a change of tide to everyone here who is feeling the strain.

speakout · 21/12/2018 19:51

Nice quiet evening here, DD and DS out, would love to toast the solstice with a seasonal tipple, but have to pick up my mother from church at 10pm.

Drinking chamomile tea instead.

Happy Solstice all. Every day a little longer and lighter from here on!

VioletCharlotte · 21/12/2018 20:42

I've just been out in the garden to look at the moon, It's just visible through the clouds.

I'm enjoying a quiet night too. Candles are burning and tree is lit. It feels very warm and safe.

PawneeParksDept · 21/12/2018 20:52

Basically, because of a medical reason I've been unable to do rituals for about a month.

This really vexes me tonight particularly because of Solstice Full Moon and another poignant personal reason.

Motive and intent and words will be just as good on a deeply magical night such as this do we think?

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 20:57

We have had a visitor bringing winter solstice flowers. It was lovely and refreshing and I think did all of our souls good. I am just about to light a candle and settle down for some peaceful relaxing.

Hope everyone else is finding the magic/evening that they need/wish this solstice.

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/12/2018 20:59

To me those are the basis of what all other is built on. I would work on just those pawnee but rituals are not so important to me as others. I guess the answer, I would say, is does it feel right with just those to you?

PawneeParksDept · 21/12/2018 21:13

I think it does Hills I was planning something a bit bigger and I can't pull it off tonight but it's important to me so I'll do it - it won't be exactly as I want but it will mark as I want to mark, I think x
