Thank you all for saving me a seat by the fire. @Elphame what gorgeous greenery!

Elphame · 16/12/2018 17:43

That's lovely speakout that she is following in your footsteps. You have so much knowledge you can pass on.

My own children know I am pagan and a witch but show no witchy inclinations themselves ....... yet!

speakout · 16/12/2018 17:57

Elphame

Just saw your post and view on correspondences.
I am quite old view on these.
I love planetary and old ideas about colours, herbs, days of the week
I like the structure it all makes sense to me.

Even if our children don't want to carry on it doesn't really matter.
And I know you are a lovely parent.

Your home sounds lovely.

When my second child was born we were living in an old mill house built in 1628.
My baby was 3 days old, I was lying in bed breastfeeding, I woke, moonlight was streaming in the room, baby was feeding and content.
I looked up and saw a woman at the end of our bed, cloaked and shawl over her head. She tilted her head, and I felt a benevolent presence,.
A visit from the goddess perhaps?

Hello again everyone, crawling in to say hello and feel some warmth and catch up. Love those ice candles Speakout!
The self care posts are interesting I could definitely do with some right now think I have very little left to give. Things are very dark here at the moment and I feel like I am carrying not only my own emotions but those of the rest of the family. However I will struggle on and make sure everyone has a wonderful Yule (Christmas for dh) as it might be the last hurrah here for awhile. We are having a medieval feast with us, my parents and a close friend and her two DCs plus there's always multitudes who drop in over the festive week. Then hibernating to recharge sounds very appealing

madcatladyforever · 16/12/2018 19:45

I really feel all of us witches are family and I'm so pleased to see so many of you here.

VioletCharlotte · 16/12/2018 21:40

Some lovely posts this evening, I can really feel the warmth of the energy from this thread 🌟🔥

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/12/2018 07:01

Your home looks beautiful, Elphame.

I also use ‘old’ correspondences from Culpeper and traditional astrology.

I’m preparing for the Solstice and the Yule season generally by taking part in a group tarot reading - one card is pulled each day up to New Year’s Eve. It’s a reflective spread and it’s become one of my traditions.

Just catching up on the thread and just love those ice candles! What a great idea, speakout and so in tune with the season - natural magic at its finest. Smile

Good evening to you all there, I've just enjoyed reading through the last day or so of the thread. Thank you for all of your posts, its lovely to hear how every one is and feel so connected, as well as getting some inspiration for many things including ice candles and beautifully decorated old fireplaces 😊

I hope everyone is ok this evening as it certainly seems like many of us are super busy with all the demands modern life places on us and struggling to carve out time for ourselves. I've been ill in bed for the last two days with a virus and am hoping to feel better tomorrow to do a potter around the local charity shops for bits and pieces for the children's stockings. Although at the moment even that seems too much. I'm looking forward to the full moon later on this week as I feel I need a energy boost - my health is not good at the moment and I'm really struggling with a flare up of some chronic issues so if any of you have any advice for any full moon rituals that might help I'd be very grateful. Sleep well all ⛼🌟🌙

You know that feeling, something bad is coming?
From first thing this morning , horrible , I was actually convinced someone was going to cause me an accident in the car.
I didn't have to wait too long ,a ( unanswered) call on my mobile from the most toxic and downright dangerous individual i know.
I've taken some steps to bind , done what instinctively i thought was right.
I just wanted to touch base with my friends here , to tell someone that understands .
I have to go but ill.post properly later today.

Awful, but at least you have taken steps to make sure this negative energy will not harm you.

And great you didn't take the call

And I have taken the step of closing up business for the holidays.

It was hard as the run up to christmas is a crazy busy time- I hate turning away business, so hard to know when to bring down the shutters.

But I need a break, my family want more time with me and I want to enjoy the next week or so.

I drew a Tarot to see if it was the right decision. Six of wands has nailed it for me.

Just 40 orders to catch up with and post and that's me finished until after the break.

Hello all.

I've had such a refreshing morning. I had some child/work free time and I felt I should be 'doing' something constructive, getting swept up in the seasonal busyness when really, everything is fine, and under control and pretty much done. So much 'doing' right now. It feels discordant somehow.

So instead I chose to take the time to recharge my batteries by wandering around a local National Trust property. The house itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas, really magical, but wandering through the grounds was particularly therapeutic. The most amazing trees, in particular a huge Great London Plane tree. Every time I passed it I felt shivers down my back. The air around it seemed to throb. Vast, gnarly branches reaching out, up and over. I feel better now for seeing that immense tree in its winter state.

Thought I'd share as I know many of us here are feeling the strain at this time of the year and taking some time for ourselves really does work wonders. I hope you all find some time to connect with yourselves and what's important to you.

Hello everyone

Filled soda that sinking feeling is awful isn't it? What a relief that you didn't answer the call.

Speakout well done for putting yourself first. Enjoy a well earned rest!

Fitzfol a magical way to spend the morning. Sounds a beautiful place.

I finish for Christmas on Thursday. Drawing in every last bit of energy to get me through!

I do know exactly what you mean, it's something I get from time to time without being able to explain.

I remain convinced that something dreadful will happen in February and I have no idea why or what

On a separate note

I have something positive, and witchy, and positively witchy, to report

As previously mentioned I have always had abilities but am new to actual spellcraft.

I read Elphame's post last night about candle colours and it was a positive game changer for me.

Because I'm always stressing out about not having the exact right prescribed thing particularly the right colour candle.

But of course, the sisters of yesteryear would have only had white candles so of course it's not essential to get hung up on the colour

From this point I looked up the exact spell I wanted and the woman recommended oils and I was like

FUCKERY, now I need OILS!? Fresh hell etc

So, I'd had a spell in mind I wanted to do and so now I googled a witch supplies store, saw lots of things I really didn't know what they were.

One caught my eye : High John, but I'd never heard of it, so to google, and strike me if High John isn't exactly the thing I need for the spell I want to do

Equally, at the point, I got a vision of exactly HOW I wanted to perform the ritual and what was right for me (I don't like using others words)

The upshot I guess?

I've been casting about for spells for a while

And

Last night it felt like the spell I needed found me exactly when I needed it

Not done it yet though 🌞⭐️🌜🌝

Hello witchy people, I've been lurking for a while and thought it about time I posted. I don't know if I would class myself as a witch, or class myself as anything much at all really, however I've been reading tarot for as long as I can remember, lots of woo happenings over the years, and have dabbled in everything from aromatherapy oils, gems, candles and so on over the years. I do a LOT of self care as i have always been a very anxious, nervy type of person and i adore nature, specifically water based which just does something to my spirit!

I don't know if I will post much really, I just wanted to say thanks, I very much enjoy reading the posts on these threads and I am always learning something from this!

Woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so decided to finish off my work.

And now finished- every single thing ready for posting.

I actually had a little victory dance across the room this morning.

Now I can turn my head to my christmas.

I'm off to light a candle for myself.

Fantastic speakout, amazing what an early start can do!

I took the dog out for a frozen walk early this morning, it was just beautiful. I live in a town at the moment and seeing the stars can be a rare occurance, but they were out in full force, I always feel awed looking up at them.

I love the crunch beneath your feet when walking on frozen ground and the glitter from the frost that covers everything. It's not hard to see and feel the magic on such a morning 😊

Tried to get a picture of the glittering grass, didn't really do it justice though.

The other day I decided to teach my daughters a bit of candle magic. My younger daughter has just started puberty so she decided she would like to bring in better skin. Her sister lacks confidence so focused on that.

Out of the blue, I was gifted a large box of toiletries two days later. On inspection, I discovered amongst other things, there was a large selection of skin treatment items! Pore scrubs, toners, moisturisers and more. I guess my DD put over her intent really well!

speakout · 19/12/2018 09:50

CollyWombles

I love your description of the magic of ice.

What an amazing result for your DD.
How does she feel about it?

My DD (18) has only just started to realise her powers, been using Tarot now for a few months and seems to have a great skill.
She hasn't tried any spellwork, but has also been healing to great effect.

CollyWombles · 19/12/2018 10:05

My DD (12) hasn't noticed yet! I am going to point it out to her later and watch her reaction.

Your DD sounds great, it's lovely to watch the DC develop isn't it. One way or another, magic finds them 😊

Sokere · 19/12/2018 11:49

Morning everyone

I lit a candle for myself too as I don't enjoy hosting that much. The day itself is okay, but extended stays not so much pleasure for me anymore but I couldn't get out of it.

I am already exhausted tbh. I have had events too so am a little jaded by it all. My candle was to lighten my mood and to give me a well needed boost of energy. So fingers crossed, it works!

Hope to pop back to the thread soon but if I don't get a chance, I am sending you season wishes and look forward to chatting to you all in the New Year xx
