I've missed coming to the thread Completely lost all reason right now as we've decided to decorate (as in paint, wallpaper etc) Also, on top of that, it's been a week of people 'popping in' so am way behind.

I love those ice candles speakout but I doubt I'll have any alone time until January.. with guests staying over Christmas, even the bathroom will be occupied! I may not be back for a while but will aim to read the thread at bedtime before falling unconscious from the exhaustion! Why do we do this? It's crazy...

Love and peace to you all

speakout · 15/12/2018 14:30

Wallpapering !! Oh wow.

I couldn't contemplate that right now,

I rely on low level lighting at this time of year to hide cobwebs and scruffy parts!!

Hope you are all enjoying your evening.

A winter storm here. Heating pumped up.

I am using my frozen Solar Yule candle, I was going to keep it, but so tempting and can make another.

Has me questioning about spellwork and correspondences,

How important is that to you?

Blimey Sokere! Wishing you well with all you’re aiming to achieve. I’m with speakout on the low lighting! It’s lovely to have you stop by x

Loving hearing about everyone’s cosy evenings- I’ve just got my pj’s on and lit the candles amongst my Yule mantelpiece swag (a result of my walk in the woods yesterday!) It’s what I’ve been wanting to do all day- I’m suddenly full of cold. Made myself a honey lemon and ginger drink which usually helps.

speakout about correspondences- I tend to be quite intuitive with it- i.e if a herb, colour, oil etc feels right or calls me then I’ll use it. Although I do remember reading up on them many years ago so I guess some of my intuition is probably based on that earlier learning. Your candle sounds divine Smile

VioletCharlotte · 15/12/2018 19:33

Cosy evening here too. Watched a Disney film earlier with 17 year old DS. It was lovely being snuggled on the sofa under blankets, just like we used to do when he was a little boy. I've had my candles burning all afternoon and evening and it's really cosy and warm. I'm enjoying a glass of mulled wine, writing cards and writing presents. This is what Christmas should be about, quiet time at home to relax and reflect. Blessings to you all 🌟

HillsBesideTheSea · 15/12/2018 19:35

I am about to head out in the storm to brave the local supermarket without all the saturday craziness in the carpark. And just to annoy everyone I am going out in short sleeves and no coat. This weather is lovely and soothing and refreshing. Everyone else is complaining about being cold and wanting the heating turned up Shock

I have survived day 1 of awkward sister. Without mum enabling her it went ok. Lovely sister and her boyfriend were an absolute godsend and have helped no end today. Food prep, diffusing and just being the lovely people that they are. So grateful for their help.

HillsBesideTheSea · 15/12/2018 19:37

Sorry accidentally posted rather than switching tabs. Sometimes I should not be allowed to use a computer.

Is anyone planning any storm magic this storm? If I had time I would like to head up to my favourite spot to sit and watch the world go by and just blow away a few cobwebs.

FitzsFool · 15/12/2018 20:31

Hello all. Sorry for being a stranger. I posted a few times on previous threads. I've been adrift recently and have had to give so much of myself to others these past few months that I've halted on my path. I'm in a place now to get back on it. I was very pleased to find a fifth thread and find so many of you still sharing your ideas and experiences. I've been thinking a lot recently about what the Christmas season means to me and what my current values and beliefs are. Some ideas have fallen into place and I come here and find those thoughts echoed in some of the words you lovely lot post. I may not post or participate at the moment but I get so much from reading your posts. Thank you.

FitzsFool

Lovely to see you again, I am glad you are still with us.

I am glad you have posted, but don't feel any pressure, if you want simply to drop in and read, that's great, there is always a space by the fire for you.

I read daily but often don't post. Either because I have nothing to say, or I am too busy to say things clearly!

My youngest has now started his Christmas holidays. I'm quite liking not having a school run to contend with next week, it's making the approach to Yule more enjoyable.

Visiting friends this afternoon, I always feel energised after being with them.

VioletCharlotte · 16/12/2018 10:56

Morning everyone. I'm feeling energised too after a relaxing day at home yesterday. I'm just back from a walk with my dog, lovely to get some fresh air. This afternoon I'm going to a body balance class and then catching with an old friend. She's very spiritual too, so we always enjoy a good catch up.

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday ❤️

Hi everyone, so looking forward to having 2 weeks off at Yule with my cat. I decided not to go anywhere as I have some magical work to do that is outstanding.
I have my cousins coming over to stay over New Year so that will be fun.
I ran a coven for years with my ex husband but recently decided to give it up and work mostly solo again although I have a group of other coven leaders I work with regularly.
After all these years I realised solo witchcraft really suits me so much better.
I have a house shrine to consecrate, I've spent a lot of time finding the items for it and a new familiar spirit to create. Happy days.

Hi, lovely to hear your plans. Lots of exciting work to do.

Yes re the coven work.

I have done quite a lot of work with a couple of covens in the past, but I now far prefer solo working- for lots of reasons.

Hi everyone - been mostly off line all week so I'm way behind as usual.

Absolutely love those ice candles speakout what a great idea.

Yule preparations in full swing here. The tree will go up this afternoon and the first of the Yule workings start this week.

Madcatlady Sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you :)

Quickly swinging in to say @YashmisCrone thanks so much for the PM. I use MN on the app and PMs don't show and I know you sent it on the 2nd but I only just saw it this morning. Busy day, but I will read and digest fully later. Thanks for your kind thoughts, it means a lot x

YashmisCrone · 16/12/2018 14:03

No problem Pawnee it’s a response to something you asked here- I started to type a response on the thread but had a feeling it was best communicated away from the gaze of some of our lurkers.. anyway, hope it’s helpful.

Enjoying read of everyone’s magical plans and it’s good to have Fitz and madcat around the aga. Like quite a few of the others here I don’t feel like I have much to contribute atm but very much enjoy reading. Here’s hoping the solstice brings a shift in energy. I think it will. In the meantime I’m making the most of the quiet times, I hope others are able to do the same

speakout · 16/12/2018 14:41

Tell me why I have bought a second Yule tree!!!

It was reduced to a silly amount from a local supplier- I could not resist!!

Feeling very festive right now, and been experimenting with my ice spells in some huge containers.

Actually looking forward to a cold snap so I can make some outdoor versions.

Grin love it speakout! That made me smile!

Also intrigued by the idea of outdoor ice candles/spells

PawneeParksDept · 16/12/2018 16:02

I've been absent from the thread for a while.

Overwhelmed by a couple of personal issues, one I've discussed and one not.

As Tarot is my specialty and spell work is somewhat new to me - I sometimes find it hard to figure out what the right approach is for a thing and I some spells I look at can list things I struggle with due to an issue in my hands. Still I plod on

Planning on doing a horoscope tarot for the year ahead in the hopes that THIS BE THE YEAR GrinBlush

Decorating now done thank goodness. All ready for the first day of Saturnalia tomorrow. Let the mayhem commence!

@speakout I've just spotted your comment about correspondences.

It's an interesting question - I tend to use the classical correspondences for plants (I use Culpepper as my source for those).

Colours I tend to use what works for me.

Green for example is commonly now linked with wealth and money. Other than the US$ is green I can't make sense of it. I'm not American so the association doesn't work for me. I'll use gold ( or yellow if it's a candle - the gold candles get their colour from a plastic coating).

My "power" candle is red, a hot colour to inflame and speed up a work.

For healing I'll use cool and soothing blue. If I'm making moon water then I catch the rays in a blue bowl.

Ancestral work is often black.

Coloured candles however are very much a modern thing so quite often I'm happy to settle for white. I can add colour quite easily by tying an appropriately coloured thread around the candle or just using a herb or essential oil enriched oil for a candle dressing.

I have spent the afternoon putting up our second Yule tree with my DD and elderly mother.
Much talk from my daughter about her stirring magical abilities.

I have tried to hide my witchcraft from my children, but she has huge stirrings- I can see, and she knows.
She is a student nurse, has been working on placement with tiny ones with additional needs, she has been adored, great report.
She tells me of the power of a sensitive touch to defuse, to tap a rhythm, to sing shift attention
She has come to see herself as a witch.
And she is excited

I very happy for her.

and thank you! I am very very lucky to have a house that was made for a witch. It was originally 4 cottages built in 1802 and definitely has a personality of its own.

I love my open fire places and I'd find it hard now not to have one.
