mtgaa praying for you hun, really am sweetheart.

2 counsellors have suggested that I am depressed this week, but I don't think I am.

I am exhausted, totally and utterly.

The emotional energy that it takes to look after these dc is enourmous. I'm not sleeping well, even last night when I was wrecked I couldn't get to sleep and have been awake since 5.30ish.

Sorry i'm moaning again but all I want to do is sleep.

ZipadiSuzy · 18/05/2007 14:01

Mary - I remember the thee's n thou's - my grandad up until he died always spoke like that, must have been the northern in him! loved it, but not at church especially these days. I think we are lucky now, because we have so much choice of worship, be it, toddler praise, evening praise, bible study groups, sunday school, taize, healing....etc, endless amount of types of services or meetings to suit many christians, I'm sorry you got one that was 'OTT' each to their own.

But I understand your concern that the said priest is in charge of your training he may be completely different for you, I pray god is with you and will support and guide you in your training 'Gods will be done'

fannyannie · 18/05/2007 14:08

can I have some prayers for my poor little DS2 - he's now got chickenpox and unlike DS1 who just got spots which scabbed over quickly but was generally feeling fine throughout it's really hit DS2 hard - instead of my bright, chirpy little boy (who sails close to being naughty rather than cheeky) he's very sullen and grumpy and not at all himself....he may be earth shatteringly hard to look after at times - but I prefer him that way.

I had to get DH to put Calaline lotion on him when I was out this morning as when I tried first thing this morning he just sobbed his little heart out and I couldn't do it

MaryBS · 18/05/2007 17:13

Hi harrisey - praying for you as you do God's work.

Sooz - I've heard him speak before, and he wasn't anywhere near so boring then, so I guess it was the occasion... as for pleasing God! I'm a LONG LONG way off that!!! I'm an absolute cow sometimes!

FA - praying for DS2.

NSFN - praying for strength for you. You could be run down. You've had a LOT to put up with! I always take vitamin B complex when I've run myself down - when you're stressed that's one of the vitamins that you lose.

HI Hearts - I had a dreadful housemove - so praying for you!

I'm in 2 minds whether to go to the beetle drive tonight at church. On the plus side it should be fun, but I still have to get my coursework finished for Monday (about another 2 hours or so). Tomorrow I'm out taking my mum to a wedding. Sunday there's a service in the morning, evensnog in the evening (and as I'm leading June's evensnog, I ought to go along...). So, should I or shouldn't I?

ZipadiSuzy · 18/05/2007 17:18

FA - aw poor wee mite! I hope he gains his high spirit soon

I've been thinking of Gardening business names, but useless brain not functioning, apart from: Just Lawns, Gardens'r'us, Little Weeds, Top & Tail Gardening, would run it as husband and wife service, oh well back to the drawing board any ideas welcome!

ZipadiSuzy · 18/05/2007 17:20

Mary - God loves Cows theres a herd of them in our house atm and i'm all for a good 'Evensnog' wow what a busy weekend you have! enjoy

notsofarnow · 18/05/2007 17:31

oh go and have fun mary. 'She who plays little laughs little'

fa praying for stregth for you as you help your poor ds. I bought calamine cream for ds over easter when he had chicken pox - i think I got as far as opening the tube because they didn't bother him at all.

dd didn't get it, strange but friends youngest ds had it and her eldest didn't get it either

My eyes are burning, i look awful but don't know what to do to get more sleep. Not going to bed later than 10.30 awake about 6ish. Not really going to sleep when I go to bed even though I am really tired.

MaryBS · 18/05/2007 17:49

My friend has a gardening company called "down to earth". Lots of phrases based on earth

What on earth?
Earthly pleasures
Dig it!
A cut above
Dig and Dug (sounds like a kids show!)
Hoe Down
Raking it in
English Country Gardeners

Notquitegrownup · 18/05/2007 19:12

Notsofarnow - I can't imagine how tired you must get looking after 4 dcs full time. Good to hear your confidence that you are not depressed. (My mum-in-law swears by Nytol I thnk - herbal tablets to help you relax/sleep, but don't knock you out. I'll check with her, when she gets back from hols shortly.) Praying for some more help to come your way, so that you are not sooo exhausted and for God to carry you at this very difficult time too.

Great ideas Mary!

FannyAnnie - chickenpox can be horrible. I had it badly as an adult and you can feel soooo poorly with it, and the itching drives you crazy.

Let him lie in the bath lots if it helps - or have several baths a day - it's bliss. Piriton/Antihistamine may help calm the itching too, if he can't stand creams. Just check with the pharmacist that you are allowed to use them, but piriton certainly helped me loads (and it helps you sleep too, which is great).

If he gets spots inside his mouth/throat then make green jelly, with grapes chopped in half inside it. I couldn't eat the jelly without the grapes, but they were very cool and soothing, having been in the fridge in the jelly. The spots can go inside any bodily orifice, too, which is horrid - ears, bottoms etc, so keep an eye on them too.

Praying for him and you.

Flying by. God bless all.

roseylea · 18/05/2007 19:20

hello, need prayers for sanity pleeeeeeeeease! I've had quite a stressful day and putting the dcs to bed tonight they both had huge tantrums. We managed to make peace before they went off to bed but I feel wiped out at the end of it all.

Also my dh has been 'placed' in a different dept at work for 6 months, which means diong v. long hours and shift work (not what we'd choose). We've worked out that after this evening, the next time he's going to see the dcs / me for more than about 30 mins is next Thursday . Dh and I are going to go out on Thurs a.m. on our own but I'm hardly going to see him at all over the weekend and Mon-Wed I go off to work at 8.45 a.m. and he goes off to work a bit later, then (supposedly) finishes work at 10 pm (altho he's almost certain to have to work late) so we honestly won't see each other at all.

Sorry if this sounds whingy or self-piteous but dh and I chat a lot, and spend a lot of time together so we resent the fact that he has been made to go and work such family-unfriendly hours. He has decided to look for another job (he works in a real niche market, so the jobs are quite few and far between) so please pray!

Yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk - just needed to offload all that! Dh has just popped out to get a bottle of wine. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Hearts · 18/05/2007 19:31

roseylea - hugs from me! My dh and I hate it when we have no time together over a few days - sounds like really hard work. We are having probs at bedtime routine too here - so know what thats like too.

Wanted to post and say that I ordered "the best worship songs ever" - 3 cds in one - and I played it while dd at pre-school and felt quite uplifted out of the daily grind! I so want to feel close to God but for some reason it feels like hard work at the moment so thank you to Amazon for delivering the music at least a week ahead of estimate!

Blessings everyone.

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/05/2007 21:45

Quickly popping in before I crack on with DD2's Birthday cake .....

Problems here with going to bed too - DD's are terrible, REALLY playing up atm - running ound the bedroom screaming and laughing and trashing everything, taking their nappies off, wees and poos everywhere .... Often not settling til 9 / 9.30pm - Tis horrid, so mega sympathies here!!

mtgaa - SUPER [[[hugs]] & Prayers to you sweetie. Keep going.... God is holding you .....

harrisey - [[hugs] to you too sweetie - Praying for you as you wade through the work..... The end is in sight ......

nsfn - Praying for God to give you wonderful sleep honey. xx

FA - Poor, poor DS2 Praying the Dreaded Pox is over soon in your house. xx

Rosey - Oh sweetheart - totally understand where you are coming from, DH & spend lots of time together & I know how and I would feel if he had to work more "family unfriendly hours" ...... At least you know it is not forever; but am praying something better comes up soon.

DD1 crying .....Best go ....

Well done you!!

ZipadiSuzy · 18/05/2007 23:12

Prayers for all of you struggling with dc's bedtime routines, aw I am so not just the thought brings back horrid memories that lasted 3 years, so my full sympathy to you all

Mary - Well done you, my dads just finished his collections for 'christian aid' unlucky for him he had all the l-o-n-g s-t-e-e-p driveways to collect from! perhaps next time he'd be better going to a 'beetle drive'

Well tonsilitis has set in for me (now I'm on leave for 2.5 weeks) typical, but I don't feel too bad considering so will just plod on! need to pack ds1 suitcase for next weeks school trip, nip out and buy some disposable cameras etc........

Right I am now going to knock myself out with some medicine or other for the night!

Night God Bless

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 19/05/2007 08:57

Hoping you got a decent-ish night's sleep Suzy honey - Praying for swift recovery. xx

ZipadiSuzy · 19/05/2007 19:36

Thanks yes I did! did you? DoubleDippy Good luck for tomorrow! have you done the birthday cake yet? arn't you good, I cheat and get one from asda, (lazy mum that I am)

I pray all the bedtime routines go well tonight ladies!

Mine dc are nowhere near bedtime, DS1 escaped without telling us he was going out, DS2 just cut his lip whilst flying down the garden into the trees (on his tractor) dh let dd fall asleep whilst I was out, so she won't be ready for bed yet! [grr]

Just had a phone call from a karate buddy, he is going to do some life coaching with me next week, (funny my dh is all funny about it)

Overall having an ok day!

Where is everyone today, or am I the only sad person here, not for long its Joseph on tv soon!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 19/05/2007 22:44

Yeah right - Where is everyone!!!!!?

Hope you got your LO's to bed ok in the end, Suzy .... We didn't get back from our day out til 9pm so all DD's are safely tucked up in their cots, absolutely blotto, bless 'em ..... Just finishing off DD2's Cow Cake for tomorrow - Please pray the weather holds, but I am sure we will have fun whatever ..... ....

Hope everyone else is ok and having good weekends .......

fannyannie · 20/05/2007 00:03

where is everyone???

Trying to relax after an exhausting day with DS2 - he's really not coping well with these chickenpox and is absolutely covered - I thought DS1 had a lot - but they were nothing compared to my poor little DS2.

He's just woken up (about 20 minutes ago) sobbing his heart out (again) - seems to have settled - but it's my turn to sleep in their room tonight and I'm expecting a long one with him.............

Infact I'm actually quite worried about him really - probably just the late pg hormones but he's just SO not himself it's almost unreal - really argumentative (or more than a 3 1/2yr of his nature usually is) and bursting into floods of tears if you even slightly contradict something he says - so more prayers would be lovely if you wouldn't mind.

ZipadiSuzy · 20/05/2007 00:20

Hia FA - I have just come up to bed, thought I'd check MN before I close my tired red puffy eyes, your poor little mite!!!!! I really pray you get an ok nights sleep, my 3 1/2 yo twins act like that all the time but it is so distressing when your child is normally ok, I would think in the next couple of days he should start to get better, do you give Calpol at nights, or does he not have a temperature with his chicken-pox?

CD - well I'm glad your dc are 'blotto' in Notts it means drunk what are you putting in their milk .

Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday MiniDippy
Happy Birthday to You

Hope you enjoy your beautiful day, and don't eat too much 'Cow Cake'

MaryBS · 20/05/2007 08:50

I took my mother to a wedding yesterday. FANTASTIC service, great vicar! FA - you might want to take a look at that church, Alwalton, nr Peterborough.

He told a great joke:

3 kids in a playground.

Kid 1: My father's a Dr and he makes me better for nothing

Kid 2: My dad's a teacher and he makes me clever for nothing

Kid 3: My dad's a vicar and he makes me good for nothing

(Oh and I completely pigged out at the reception - it was delicious though ).

MUST complete all my work today...

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 20/05/2007 10:18

Morning all! not going to church this morning - Heathen that I am!! ..... cos DD2 has her Birthday Picnic & Play this pm and we want her to be as fresh as a Daisy to enjoy it properly!! So DD's 2 & 3 are safely tucked up in their cots & DH has taken DD1 to church with him ...... Bliss ..... Loads to do though .... ....

Glad you had a lovely time Mary - Great joke - LOL!!

Suzy - @ different meaning of "blotto" - LOL!! Bit 'o' Gin before bed never did any harm, eh!!!!? > Thank you for the Sing-Song - Can't believe my wee little DD2 (Sophia) is a whole two years old!!!!! Thank you Lord for bringing me this far .....

Am praying for your poor DS2, FA - Hoping you're rid of the yukky Pox asap. xx My DD1 is pretty emotional atm - thinking it is a combo or weird weather, snotty yuksome cold & new baby ..... Hard work. [hugs]

Right, best go & do some job before my Super Boobs are in demand again ......

fannyannie · 20/05/2007 12:26

well as I suspected it was a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG night. DS2 woke up lots of times - wasn't crying but just not settled - and at 4am I gave up and crawled into bed with him (that was fun wriggly 3yr old and me with bump in a tiny bottom bunk LOL). I got up at 9 to get ready for church and when I left at 9.45 he was still asleep in bed - DH says he got up at 10.30 - still grumpy and itchy but showing signs of being a little better (took ALL day yesterday to get him to drink one glass of juice - he's already had 1/2 of one today) and he ate some breakfast too.

Fingers crossed it won't be too long before my cheeky little chappy is back.

MaryBS · 20/05/2007 13:49

Oops, sorry FA - I meant Rosey!

Someone kick me off here please until my work folder is put together!

notsofarnow · 20/05/2007 15:41

sooo tired. Floods of tears again at church this morning. h was here yesterday, when I got home last night ended up talking maintenance payments, divorce etc etc.

Thing is it felt so right him being here, and I just kept thinking 'we can make this work' But I know the reality is he is not going to come back, we are getting divorced and that he just wants different things to me.

So feel utterly exhausted, have had a major battle to get big two to take little two out to tthe park. I've cut the grass, brushed and sucked up the rubbish, cooked dinner, and soon have to be thinking about the 16 mile treck back to church because its launch of 24/7 and worship group are singing. So don't want to drag lo's out again especially seems its 1/2 hour later starting. Just want to curl up in a ball.
