any update cd? Having never been in labour myself I am very impatient.....(ds was born by elective cs as he was breech with his cord round his neck)

I was supposed to be studying this evening but strategic analysis gave way to TV, whoops. Must knuckle down, assignment due in in 2 weeks

CaptainDippy · 11/04/2007 22:33

They petered out for a bit; but seem to have started up again now I have sat down here .... Just not sure ...

Your profile is v. cute btw Cd, gorgeous dds! I was just thinking earlier about you, and I feel certain there is a ds in your belly....however, I have had 2 glasses of wine and nothing I say/think/do can alter your genes or God's will!!!
Praying that you don't have to wait tooooo much longer to meet your beautiful new dc

roseylea · 12/04/2007 08:28

good morning all!

Just a quick hi to say that i am praying for you all.

How are feeling today CD? Any more signs of movenent? (How many weeks are you btw? I know people keep asking you this. but I've got a memory like a sieve!)

I'm praying for a job that i just right for you Mary. It is in His hands and it will be in His timing...

Well we are having a lovely week - the dcs and I and some friends spent the day yesterday in St Albans Park - it was just soooooooo nice and relaxed and felt like we were on holiday! We are going out for another 'day trip' (as ds calls them!) to Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes tomorrow - a theme park for younger kids, and then on Saturday I'm going to London to meet up with a v. gd friend who lives there now. So we're having a great Easter holiday! Thank you Lord!

God bless all xxx

CaptainCaveman · 12/04/2007 09:19

A beautiful good morning to everyone! Wow what a fabulous day, barely a breeze and the sun is shining, and outside my office window (apart from the car park and the road), the birds are pceking about in the grass. I'm feeling really mellow and happy - want some?!!

How you doing today CD, praying you meet you new little one very soon now.

Mary did you use ds's 'god needs a sticker' phrase yet! I love your post on Thomas, it has really inspired me to try to reach out more to others, and fired me up that I can help others by showing them my love for Jesus. Thank you

Anyone heard from Weirdbird lately? Just wondered how she and Hannah and family are doing. Praying Hannah's over her colic soon if not already.

Prayers also for Dave's liver - thanks for the update Mars.

Rosey do you live near StAlbans? My BIL/SIL live there with their 2 ds. I live in Welwyn Garden City whilst I was a student nurse....

roseylea · 12/04/2007 18:02

Cor it's quiet on here today!

Does that mean that CD has started having proper contractions? Oooohhh I get so excited about babies!

Lots of love to everyone - I'm off to meet up with a vicar tonight to pick her brains re. ministry. I'm hoping it will help me feel a sense of direction. Also (not unrelated!) please pray I won't get lost on the way as she lives in a town I don't know at all!

CCM yes we do live near St Albans. THe park is fab and geared up to staying the whole day with dcs (well we do anyway! )

CaptainCaveman · 12/04/2007 19:18

I agree - too quiet! Where is everyone?

Please can you pray for me? Feel very shallow and selfish asking but I'm really unhappy with a bit of weight I've gained. I'm a bit scared that I'm starting to obsess about it and being as I'm a recovered bulimic, thats not too good! Feel v.fat but I know I'm not.....

sleepysooz · 12/04/2007 20:02

I'm here, just lurking though, prayers for everyone!

CD howz it going????????????

mumtogusnalbie · 12/04/2007 21:06

Good evening everyone - its been a couple of days since posting because I had a massive panic attack on Tuesday night and it really shook me up - have been doing so well recently.
DS2's 3rd birthday today so had a family tea for him and both sets of grandparents & daddy came so it has been really nice.
Just the party on Saturday to deal with now so prayers for that and my panic attacks would be greatly appreciated.
Is the absence of CD a good sign do we think? I am sooooo excited for her and can't wait to hear about the new baby once he/she arrives.
Ptayers would also be appreciated for my Ministers son who is back in hopsital having a stem stell harvest this week.

God Bless everyone

xxxx

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 07:34

{hugs} to you, MTGAA. You HAVE been doing well lately, just see it as a minor setback and continue "doing well"! Prayers also for your minister's son

CD - check in to let us know if you're still around, otherwise we're waiting with baited breath!

CCM - praying for you. You're not being selfish at all! We've all asked for prayers on here, its share and share alike! My sermon is on Sunday and PRAISE GOD its just about finished! I'm still deciding on the "sticker" bit, where to put it. If I don't use it this time, I'll find another sermon to put it in - its such a wonderful demonstration of faith!

RL - hoping and praying your meeting went well last night, and you're one step further on your "discernment path".

FA - praying for good news for you today, re: breech. Good news re DH too - slowly but surely.

I've got today off work, so major tidyup coming along! I'm going to have ANOTHER attempt to turn the living room into a toy-free room (they have their bedrooms, the conservatory AND the dining room for toys!). Ready for the Emmaus study group, which starts on Wednesday.

Which reminds me, prayers please that I get lots of people along next Wed for the group!

Notquitegrownup · 13/04/2007 08:01

Good morning all.

MTGAA - panic attacks are horrid, aren't they? They will go one day. You won't have to live with them for ever. In the meantime, treat yourself gently. Lots of hugs from dcs and some extra chocolate is definitely required. Praying that this passes and that the party on Saturday goes well, Hon.

Mary - how is your new adoptive neice settling in? Prayers for your course on Weds and for a fruitful day off.

CCM - special prayers. The fact that you are aware of the danger signs, and know about the power of prayer, when this problem arises is great. Praying that you will find the strength (or the weakness ifswim) to move beyond this and to be free in His wonderful freedom.

FA - great to hear from you and to hear your news. Are you guys still going to Relate?

LWTG - continuing to hold you in my prayers each day.

Mufti - praying for you and ds1. I have a friend with a ten year old, going on teenager. It's another world from toddlerdom, isn't it??! Hugs, Hon.

CD - waiting with baited breath.

Hi Sleepysooz

Sorry if I've missed anyone by name. God bless all.

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 08:59

Woohoo - praise the Lord - got a letter in the post this morning telling us that we've been awarded the Sure Start Maternity Grant - it's going into my account on Monday - so we'll be able to make sure we've got all the bits and pieces we need for baby without having to worry about how much it costs..........and that means I'll get my Hauck Inifity (if I still like it after seeing it 'in person' at Kiddicare)

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 09:52

That's fantastic news FA! When I lived near Peterborough (and I'm only 40 mins away now), I lived in Kiddicare for baby stuff!

I'm thanking God atm - I've got my new PC FINALLY connected to the internet! Just need to figure how to connect the email, and I'm away!

Nieces are settling in fine - its like they've always been a member of the family! They came on Sunday for Rebecca's FH communion.

Not sure how fruitful my day will be - I have the child from hell coming for 3 hours come 11:30, to give his mother a rest... which means they won't play nicely together unless I'm there breaking up fights!

Might have a slight problem re: July 7 - looks like they'll be being baptised that day - in which case I won't make the MN meetup

God bless all

fannyannie · 13/04/2007 09:55

lol Mary - I spend hours browsing the website - have only been to the store 2 times - but LOVED it and can't wait to go again.....especially knowing that I can look at virtually any pram/pushchair/travelsystem I want to

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 10:24

LOL. I remember when it used to be a tiny shop...
Email is working... Praise God! Even if emails from work are classed as spam

CaptainCaveman · 13/04/2007 10:25

Where is CD? Now I really am getting excited!! Another prayer thread baby will soon be here

MTGAA - panic attacks are blimmin awful eh? Can be really crippling at the time and feel like they'll never end, but you know already that they do. I felt like I wanted to run away from everything but it was no good because my head kept coming with me - I actually wanted to escape from my own head KWIM? Prayers for you, hoping that was just a one off and you soon forget about it.

Thanks always for your kind words - am determined never to become bulimic again. I just hate the anger I feel at myself if I'm unhappy with my weight . Still, praying that I get off my bum and do some exercise now the hockey season has finished!

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 10:29

Hugs CCM. I'm overweight and I know it. It must be so much harder for you, having been bulimic. Am praying for you...

On a lighter note, I'm debating whether to tell the vicar I don't want a cassock alb when I'm licensed as it will make me look fat, and that a cassock with surplice is much more slimming...

CD if you don't check in, we're going to bust in anticipation!

CaptainCaveman · 13/04/2007 10:31

Thanks Mary, hugs much appreciated!

Ds is currently climbing on the exercise bike (which I never use) proclaiming to be Sportacus....I am Stephanie, apparently.

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 10:33

I'm supposed to be tidying up... I better get on with it... catch you all later.

Praying that everyone has a good day today, and that CD/MrCD checks in soon with some news, one way or another!

CaptainCaveman · 13/04/2007 10:39

Just to let you all know CaptainDippy is fine and says hi to everyone, she didn't get any time to herself after work last night to post, but wanted to let you know she hadn't gone into labour! - found this on CDs ante-natal thread.
I'm not stalking you btw CD!!

MaryBS · 13/04/2007 10:49

CCM have you got a link, so we can stalk too?

CaptainDippy · 13/04/2007 10:56

Yes you are!! ... but I'll let you off!!

Soooo sorry for keeping you all on tenterhooks (though I was very flattered that you were all thinking of me ....) I have just be completely flat-out - kept meaning to text Mary; but just didn't get round to it ... .... sorry!

Well anyway ...... Finally!!! I am here!! Did you miss me!!!?

Nothing much happening here (no labour ), a bit shattered from working so much; but is nice to have the extra cash .....

Fellow Captain - Praying for your low feelings over the extra weigh hon. xx

MTGAA - Praying for the panic attacks, esp with the Party coming up and for your Minister's son as he heads into hospital - keep us updated.....

Great news about the SS Maternity Grant FA - Excellent - Spend it wisely, young lady!!

How is everyone else doing? It would v.cool if you could pray for DH who is speaking at church on Sunday - I know his talk hasn't got v.far yet .... Eeeeek!

Lady from our Antenatal Thread who has LO in SCBU has updated us to say that his blood has been thinned, but he is still slow to feed - they won't be able to take him home til he is feeding every four hrs, it is 2 1/2 through tube atm. Continued prayers needed there ..... Lots of people on our thread in labour today - Very exciting! Not me though .... Shame ...

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 13/04/2007 10:59

Hi Mary!

My Antenatal Thread is here if you are interested!!!

You'll have to be quick though, cos we have a new one about every couple of days .... my goodness can those guys talk!!!

OP posts:
MaryBS · 13/04/2007 11:05

Hi CD - what's MrCD speaking about? Praying for him! Is he a confident public speaker?

that you've finally checked in, that there's no news yet and for keeping us on tenterhooks!

CaptainDippy · 13/04/2007 11:31

Yes - scarily confident - usually writes his sermons the night before and just sort of "pulls it out a hat", iykwim!!? It is a bit hairy to say the least .... don't know how he does it myself .... I get more stressed and worried than he does!! He stayed home Wed morning to do it (and look after DD2 while I took DD1 to a Party) and he wrote a sum total of two words (the title!!) Oh dear!! The sermon is on "Radical Authority" - based on Matt 10 vs 1 - 23 - Jesus sending out the 12.

So there you go .......
