I've just got home after being towed home by the AA... having filled DH's 6 mth old (company) car up with petrol... only trouble is, its a diesel .

Car has to be drained and flushed out tomorrow. DH has taken it very well, the worst he has called me is "dope"

I'm tired, but going to have a glass of wine to chill out before bed...

CaptainCaveman · 28/04/2007 08:14

Mary mary mary, whoops to your fuel error Thank goodness for your understanding dh. Mine would never let me forget that!! Perhaps retraining as a mechanic might be your ideal job?!

Sorry for that comment about your carpet Sooz, you really must get a new one .

Ok, that's not fair. I just paused mid-posting as my dneice and ds are running around downstairs, went down to find dneice vomiting all over my lounge carpet, so now I do indeed have carpet vomit! Eugh. Vomit from a 4.5 yr old 30 mins after breakfast ain't nice. Nearly added a pile of my own when I caught a whiff of it. Sorry, tmi, thats the nurse in me . So now I have 2 nice big clean patches....

Anyway, good morning all. Looks like a beautiful day and I'm off to play hockey, yippee.
MTGAA prayers for you hon, anxiety is so awful. Have you had/are you on meds for this? Praying for strength and peace of mind for you.

roseylea · 28/04/2007 09:11

Hello all,

Wow - isn't it amazing, the difference in house prices across the UK?

Well I am a bit stressed out this morning; I had a very stressful evening last night (long story) which led to me reversing into a brand new car....eeeeeeeeeeeeek! It belongs to one of the mums from ds's preschool and we think there isn't any damage as I was driving exceptionally slowly, reversing out of a space, but her dh his going to have a good look at it this mornng and decide if it need any work. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

The dcs are high as kites as well, I'm 'on' and I want to go and hide under the duvet. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Praying for the rest of you. Mary it's great that you're getting so much expeience of leading things in the church - learning to set boundaries and knowing when to say no might be part of your traiing for the future as well as the actual ministry you do!

Thinking of your sis and neice, CCM.

Love to everyone else! God bless xxx

CaptainDippy · 28/04/2007 12:35

Eeeek! Not doing very well with cars and carpets atm, are we!!? Hope there's no damage Rosey and your DH's company car gets sorted quickly, Mary ... Whoops!

We all make mistakes....no big deal (says she whose car has a massive scrape down the side and a great big dent in it's front bumper .... both of which are most definitely her fault! )

Ahem.

Is your Dniece ok CC? Has she got a bug or was she just being too over-excited??

[[Hugs]] to you rosey hon - Praying you feel calmer and more relaxed ....

Feeling a lot calmer now, but was feeling v.v.v.v. after loosing a loads of stuff I just did for the NCT newsletter. I've re-done it now and saved it ... so should be ok ... our computer is soooo slow and pants atm, grrrrr!

Hope we all have nice, calm afternoons doing whatever we are doing .... Think we might all waddle (well, I'll waddle anyway ....) down to the beach for a bit this PM. girls are both currently sleeping after an exceptionally early morning from DD1 .... Groan!!

Come on Dippy3 ......

ZipadiSuzy · 28/04/2007 12:51

CD - must be lovely to just 'nip' to the beach, you lucky things!
I've just been looking on the internet for a break by the sea, week before whitsun, as DS1 is away at Llandudno with school, so thought might be an oportunity for the twins to have time out aswell (from DS1)
Don't know where to go yet, it would only be Mon-thurs I've been looking at Sheringham, Lyme Regis, Hunstanton, or we could all just stay at home, have a couple of days out, then I could decorate DS1 bedroom whilst he's away!

But yes, a lovely day today, think we'll just relax around home, have to stay in, people coming to view caravan and baby equipment!

So enjoy this lovely day, love to everyone!

CaptainCaveman · 28/04/2007 13:30

Thanks CD, dneice is fine, just over excited, started coughing and then spued everywhere. Peace and quiet now as they've both gone to grandma & grandads overnight. Bliss.
Come on dippy 3, give your mum a rest and make your appearance (preferably not on the beach though!)

CaptainDippy · 28/04/2007 14:48

I don't know ..... on the beach could be "interesting"!! (Wonder what they would put on the Birth Cert!!? ) Oooooh, pebbly beach thouh - could be uncomfrtable ---- ouch!! Oooooh, you jammy thing - enjoy your child-free time!!

Come to Eastbourne Suzy!! DH's parents have loads of room if you want some free accom ..... GO ON - you know you want to!!

Right, off to beach ....

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 28/04/2007 15:00

CD - Thank you so much, what a lovely invite! I don't think our LOUD presence would be welcome though, (dysfunctional as we are) thats why we have a caravan! but will keep it in mind, thank you so much again for your generosity, >

I have just heard in the news about an earth tremor in Kent, prayers for all who are involved, but a smile did cross my mouth when a report about a man whose bed was shaking violently, he thought his wife had bad cramp!!!

CC - Have a lovely time 'ON YA OWN'

PandaG · 28/04/2007 16:09

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturdays!

Mary - glad your DHwas so understanding re the car!

MTGAA - sorry you have been having a difficult time, praying for you honey.

Sooz - Sheringham is lovely for littlies, the beach is golden and sandy - but there is only sand for part of the day depending on the tide. I know that part of the world very well if you want some advice

DH has taken the DC out for a couple of hours to ride their bikes. I have caught up on a few household jobs, and am now off to bed for a nap - have been burning gthe candle at both ends far too much and feel shocking!

Worzella's internet acces has been down fo rthe last week or so, hoping that she will be back and able ot post soon.

CaptainDippy · 28/04/2007 19:38

Evening - about to have take-away pizza and DVD - Yum!

Well - even if you didn't want the free accom, there's plenty of lovely places to park your caravan down here Suzy .... so do come if you want to - We'd welcome you with open arms and Eastbourne is absolutely fab for children of the twins' age!!

Hope you got a really good rest in PandaG - Slow down and take it easier, young lady!! Thanks for the update on Worz - was wondering where she was .... Looking forward to "seeing" her on her return .....

I think "something" might be happening; but then again - it could just be bad wind () - Please pray and I'll try and update later ......

OP posts:
harrisey · 28/04/2007 19:45

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

praying hard for you!

mumtogusnalbie · 28/04/2007 20:02

Evening everyone

aren't we all having a nightmare with cars at the moment!!

CD - I too have various scrapes on my car all of which are entirely my fault - or the gate post, not sure which. . . . . !!!!

Well, the plot thickens. I was filling in my application form for a replacement licence last night and took the kids to ASDA early this morning to get passport photos and have breakfast. I had taken scissors and a black pen with the intention of sitting in the cafe to finish off my form. Nearly finished the form when I realised that my passport was out of date. Stress levels nearly went through the roof. After re-reading the information form I realised that I would need my birth certificate, my first marriage certificate and my deed-poll certificate so show how my name had changed over the years - absolutely no hope of finding my first marriage certificate. After nearly having a complete breakdown about this I decided to phone the DVLA. The girl I spoke to was lovely and advised sending in the out of date passport (expired 2005 and was in my current name) with a covering letter explaining that I didn't have any other form of ID and that I urgently needed my licence.
Have now completed a new application form and written the covering letter. Just need to get my photo signed at work on Monday and then can send it off on Monday. Only trouble is, the price goes up on Tuesday so not sure how much to make the cheque out for.
AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!

Anyway - praying for the third Dippy baby to make an appearance ASAP and praying for everyone on this thread.

I am currently on Paroxetine (and have been for 3 years) but am gradually reducing dose as I still have panic attacks whether I take it or not. I also have diazepam on repeat prescription which I take when actually having a panic attack.

God Bless everyone
xxxxx

DutchOma · 28/04/2007 21:09

Urban decided I should choose my own nickname, I wonder how long it will take her to find it...
I find I have been lurking on here again, not had a lot of time to post. We had a lovely time in Holland, my husband kept going, although he is very out of breath again. I wish there was someone who could tell us what's the matter with him, he does struggle so much.
Suzy I wonder where or whether you will go to church tomorrow, so pleased you were happy at the Cavemen church.
Praying for BabyDippy to come out, it's alright, we are a friendly bunch.
You're not far from us FannieA, if you're in W'borough, my son lives there with his wife and said your estimation of the the £100,000 houses was very accurate. You don't get a lot for £100,00 even in W'borough, let alone in Northampton. And to think we bought our house for under £8,000. Hope you all have wonderful Sundays, I am going to a teaparty at a vicarage I've never been to, to talk about a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, 200km in a fortnight, I will let you know how I get on. don't know whetehr I'll make our own church afterwards.

CaptainDippy · 28/04/2007 22:00

Think I am having contractions .... pretty irregular. Really not too sure - feel like such a complete thicko considering this is my third!! Pains and tightenings; but not regular. Baby kicking hurts too, gets confusing ....

Feel soooo stupid!!!!!!

Oh mtgaa - What an awful mega stress for you - praying everything will be ok once you have sent in the documentation etc etc - I am sure it will be fine - you are bound not to be the only one who has complications like these when sorting out driving fines etc .... [[hugs] Praying for you as you reduce the meds and cope with attacks. you are a brave, strong lady .... [hugs]

DutchOma - Hello! Should I be confused about who you are?? Are you Urban or a friend of hers or a regular who has had a name change? I am 9 months PG , possibly in labour & completely confuddled ....

Oma= grandmother? Which makes you Urban Dryads mum?

Take care CD, God bless.

Today sorted itself out in the end. After phoning around countless places, we got the fuel tank drained, and thank God, it seems to be alright.

Then this PM we went to Ely Eel Festival.

Tonight we had M. and his family round for a BBQ. Very good evening, very relaxing!

Tomorrow I've got 2 church services and a baptism to go to, so won't be around much!

God bless all, I'm off to bed!

Mary

Hi there, I'm fairly new but was hoping you could add me to your prayer lists please. Dh is being made redundant at the end of May and every job opportunity he has pursued has come to a dead end. He is really low and pessimistic about everything and it is really tough at the moment. I am exhausted and feel totally deserted by God at the moment. Deep down I know good things are coming but in the every day it doesn't always seems like that. Every time I think things can't get any worse they just nosedive even further. I'm really scared about what the future holds and worry so much about dh it is making me ill. Thanks for listening

fannyannie · 28/04/2007 23:30

"Think I am having contractions .... pretty irregular. Really not too sure - feel like such a complete thicko considering this is my third!! Pains and tightenings; but not regular. Baby kicking hurts too, gets confusing ....

CD - don't worry I've asked more 'daft' questions this time (3rd for me too) than I did with my other 2 put together

Hope this is the start of things happening and CD3 arrives soon

MaryBS · 29/04/2007 07:19

Klio, have said a prayer for you and your DH.

CD, just for you:

ely eel day

MaryBS · 29/04/2007 07:32

If you're up early, our vicar is on the radio, just after 8am:

bbc radio cambs

CaptainDippy · 29/04/2007 08:04

You'll be listening to him right now, then!!

Thanks for the link, will check it out in a mo .....

Bit of a C&P from my antenatal thread, I am afraid, just can't be bothered to reiterate, iykwim!!? ....

Morning! Well, so much for that ......

Went to bed about midnight and fell asleep straight away - was sooooo knackered.....Woke up about 2am and nothing ..... no contractions ... nothing ....

Seems my body was just teasing me .....

Un "bloody" believable.

I am absolutely gutted.

Just seems so weird. I was so sure this was it. When I went into labour with DD1, I started having contractions and it just happened from there .....

Bum.

Right, chin up ...... need to have shower and get ready to face another day ......

Kilo!! Welcome!! Good to "see" you here! Will definitely be praying hard for you, your DH and your family (how many LO's have you got??) Praying that DH would find another job soon and that God owuld give you a real Peace about the situation. He loves you and He cares for you honey .... Keep posting and keep us updated .....
