Firstly [[[hugs]] - You are a great mummy and you are doing a great job. Is he your 1st or do you have older children? Is he sleeping through the night yet? I go through phases of constantly waking up at night and getting v.tired during the day as a result too - so sympathy there....

mary you will get quicker honestly you will, there will be times when its 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration though. I used to find I would go through really long periods of time when it would be 'easy' then I would go through equally long periods of time when it was flaming hard work.

Think I need to change my name but don't know what to any ideas?

CaptainDippy · 16/04/2007 21:57

Your routine sounds absolutely fine to me hon - I am pretty sure he will settle and gain more staminia in a couple of months - he has just got to a stage where he is getting too tired in the evenings; but this WILL change as he gets a little older. I would keep persisting with the meals and perhaps cut down his milk intake a bit - Give him something he really fancies for tea in he evening, even if it is v.small. As for the not settling to sleep thing - that is probably cos he is over-tired. You need to leave him to settle himself - otherwise you'll set a rod for your own back - I have taken to sitting in the room with DD2 while she settles herself off to sleep - don't touch her and avoid eye contact, but it seems to be working atm, but for how much longer ....

You sound like you are doing a grand job sweetie - The key is to "just keep on" - just keep doing everythingy ou are doing now - he WILL settle eventually- he is just at an awkward age where they get so ridiculous when they are tired - they just do not know what to do with themselves - Seriuosly, give it another couple of months and I am sure you will be amazed at the difference .....

Not sure LWTG - I'll have a think ....

Hello all

Back from a fantastic break in Cornwall with Worzella and 2 other families. We had fab weather, and a really fantastic time. All the DC got on really well, and we had a fab time, even though DD had a major meltdown at the Eden project, DH thought he would be accused of abducting her she was making so much noise!

I have read through the thread, and will pray for all the situations.

CD - praying for you honey, hurry up Dippybabe!

Love to you all xx

mufti · 16/04/2007 22:01

he is my first born, i have ds of 10, who i adopted at age 5, but he is with exh, complicated stuff.
he does go through the night, and i feel blessed for that.
i don't give out much support often on here, but i do feel for everyone who has problems.
i went through the bad nights a lot in late pregnancy it was very hot then too, last may/june, it's so hard to get comfy isn't it?

CaptainDippy · 16/04/2007 22:02

Glad you had such a fantastic time away PandaG - Is Worz feeling better and a bit more positive now? I was hoping the break would do her some good!

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 16/04/2007 22:05

Yes - it is v.hard to get comfy when the temp fluctuates so much - I can't stand it when I go through these periods of constant waking - drives me nuts!! Have you though about taking something (perscribed or perhaps herbal?) to help you sleep? Are you on your own or do you have a partner? Don't worry about giving or recieving on this thread mufti - we all appreciate your thoughts and prayers - that is more than enough ....

MaryBS · 17/04/2007 06:47

Looks good to me too

roseylea · 17/04/2007 08:04

hello all, a quick SOS prayer request for me please! Yesterday I had a v. bad crohns attack. I was in agony for hours (it was v. much like labour pains ). I'm feeling very shaky now and still am having overwhelming waves of pain. I haven't had anattack this bad for a long time. I have to go to work today and really can't call in sick so please pray that I get through the day.

I also think (although I don't usually think this about physical pain) that there is a bit of spiritual attack going on in this - I've got a meeting with the CofE Vocations Officer on Thursday morning and i start my chaplaincy training on THurs pm so I wonder if the enemy is trying to stop me.

I'm reading Ezra in my devotions times atm which is all about when God's people retun from the place of their exile and come back to rebuild Jerusalem. It is speaking so much to me about my spiritual journey. There is a chapter there when the enemies of God's people manage to stop the building work for 2 years and eventually the prophets speak up and manage to get God's people building agin!

Anyway this is a long winded way of saying that I'm sure the devil isn't stupid and if he sees someone seeking to serve God and know him better, 'old spotty face' as dh calls him will pull out all the dirty tricks in the book. Hope that doesn't sound too mad or OTT.

I have been reading and praying for the rest of you - I love the new name Notsofarnow!

MaryBS · 17/04/2007 08:14

RL - prayers being said!

mumtogusnalbie · 17/04/2007 08:17

Hi everyone - just a quick post because I am at work.

Mufti - keep at it honey - your little one will soon settle into a routine and things will be easier in a couple of months as CD said.

Roseylea - LOL at "old spotty face"!! I totally understand what you mean and don't think you are over the top at all. Praying that you feel better soon and that "old spotty face" realises he has picked on the wrong person and that your strength in your faith will see you through.

CD - you really are an amazing person. You are about to drop a dippybaby any day, you are not sleeping well, you are having a tough time with your DH and yet you still find the time to give advice and comfort to others. You are a total inspiration to me and I am sure to everyone on this thread. God Bless you sweetie (oops - that almost read swettie!!).

PandaG - very jealous of your trip to Cornwall. Cornwall is my most favourite place in the world and it has some very fond memories for me. So pleased you had a brilliant time and that the weather was good. Good to see you back and God Bless.

NSF - great name change - glad you are feeling a bit more positive and as always I am continuing to pray for you.

Well - best I go off and do some work now (actually I think I'll go and get some toast from the canteen first - can't possibly work on an empty stomach!!)

GOD IS GREAT!!

Love to you all
xxxxx

fannyannie · 17/04/2007 08:41

Praying for all of you.

Just had to tell you about DH this morning........we both had to get up at the same time this morning (usually alternate lie-ins seen as though he doesn't usually leave for work until mid-morning at the earliest) as he's got the annual sales conference (where he'll be given his certificate - woopee doo LOL - for coming 5th in the country) in Birmingham this morning.

Anyhow - before he left he leant over and gave me a quick kiss on the lips .

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2007 10:38

Awwww, I have big, fat, PG hormone induced tears running down my face ..... Thank you MTGAA - what you said meant so much .... Thank you. [hugs]

NSFN - The new name looks good - I know I am biased, but hey ..... much more positive!

Loads and loads and loads of prayers to you Rosey honey - [[hugs] GO AWAY DEVIL!!!! Praying that the attack (both spiritual and physical) would be banished with immediate effect - Keep us updated when you can hon .....

@ smooch FA - Great stuff!

All ok in DipsVille - Just enjoying the peace & quiet - DD2 is sleeping and DD1 is back at Pre-School (yey! ) Feeling quite sick, but doing ok ..... going to go and check the post ......

OP posts:
fannyannie · 17/04/2007 11:07

well not quite a "smooch" - but still a peck on the lips that he chose to do (rather than me nearly falling on top of him as bump weight takes over and him feeling he ought to recripticate ).

When is your actually EDD CD - I've forgotten (again ).

Anyhow - must get on - I'm still sat here in my dressing gown (I have now at least managed to shower lol), and DS2 is standing wearing T-shirt, pants and socks - holding the trousers which are too big for him waiting for me to get him some of his trousers out the drawer .

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2007 11:15

Good enough honey!

My EDD is the 26th (april) ... so next Thursday ..... 9 more days ...... and counting ..... come on baby!!

OP posts:
fannyannie · 17/04/2007 11:28

wow - not long then - could be any day! I've got 49 days left - which is rather scary

Dh and I also agreed this morning (his idea) that he'll probably spend the next 49 days (give or take a few) sleeping on the single bed in the boys room - as we both seem to sleep better that way - we've tried sleeping in the same bed but I'm just so uncomfortable with the bruising under my ribs that I toss and turn and then try and stop myself, making us both have bad nights sleep which isn't good for either of us.

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2007 11:32

Sounds like a good plan to me sweetie - Do the boys find it odd that he is sleeping in their room and not yours??

OP posts:
fannyannie · 17/04/2007 11:39

no not at all - they think its FABULOUS that daddy is sleeping in with them LOL.

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2007 14:05

LOL - That's true, on the rare occasion that DH has slept in with DD1 or either of the girls is in with us, they think it is wonderful!!

Where's everyone else today?

Am at work and boss left the laptop - yey!

OP posts:
worzella · 17/04/2007 14:22

HI everyone, praying for your chrons RL - and for your meeting next week

And for you CD - you are on the home straight now - hope you get some sleep in the meantime - how old are your other DCs?

We had a great time in Cornwall and Devon (we were at DHs parents for 4 days beforehand). I felt so chilled and relaxed.

Unfortunately, it hasn't taken long to feel stressed and fed up again here. Part of it is the inevitable flat feeling - that post-hoilday feeling... but part is that I really find it hard to spend time on my own largely because I imagine that everyone else is having a wildly exciting time with other people and then I feel lonely. Then I become desperate for someone to phone, and so the cycle spirals downwards. Please pray for peace and security.

Carzy really...
