EEEEEEEEEEEK ! DH saw our ghost!

We have lived in our house, for around 4 1/2 years..it is almost 100 years old, and we know at least two people died in it......

Not long after we moved in, I was going to go downstairs to get a drink, and I switched on the landing light, and got the shock of my life, when I saw a young boy sat a couple of steps up from the bottom of the stairs..! i ran back into our room and refused to go downstairs.

When i was feeding DD in the night, i used to often get a cool breeze over my feet , and DD would stop feeding and look up and when she learnt to smile, she smiled at whatever was there....

anyhoo, the odd thing happened from time to time, and then tonight, when DH got home, he came running upstairs and said he had seen the boy. As he stepped into the porch to open the front door, he saw what he thought was DS running through the hall, into the lounge. When he got into the hall, he realised, the lounge door was closed and locked and DS then ran down the stairs to greet him !!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!

so, what do we do, if anything??

thanks very much

have been thinking about this, and just not sure if i should get a minister in...as i said, am not Christian, don;t know if i want a Christian blessing being done in the house, IFSWIM, just not sure...
i suppose if the boy is doing no harm, leave him be? or ask him to stay but not scare us???

anymore thoughts....

lulumama, why don't you contact this place in London and see if they can recommend a medium in your area for you if you don't want to go down the christian route spiritualist association of great britain They are genuine.

Twice sightings in 2 days??? what are you doing?

I would never organise a seance at my home (I'm afraid of bringing something else in addition to current resident), but... perhaps Expatinscotland may help you, she has a lot of practical advice (and experience) about these matters

This child may be asking for help. I always feel sad to think of the spirit of a child being "lost" or separated from his loved ones. I would get a medium to help him to go to the light. You sound as if you don't really want to live with him. You don't have to be a christian or have any sort of faith. I have found the people at my local spiritualist church very helpful. HTH, and i hope you get it sorted out soon. You can find your local spiritualist church in the phone book.

OP posts:
southeastastra · 26/03/2007 20:44

tell him to go into the light

3littlefrogs · 26/03/2007 20:45

A genuine medium would not do anything theatrical or dramatic. they just come in and speak gently to the spirit and ask it to leave and offer help and guidance if needed. It is all very civilised and reassuring - nothing to be scared about at all. HTH

KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 26/03/2007 20:45

hi lulu

we had the ghost of a little girl in our previos house, i saw her twice, she was called Emily,

she moved stuff and fecked about with lights but never scared me, i loved her being there and miss her

our new house also has a spirit - a man, not quite as nice as emily, i often feel uneasy here,

but if the little boy isnt doing any harm leave him

I had a mate who lived with ghost for year & years - whenever they did something that made her uncomfortable (eg take the cleaners money off the table!!) she would just talk to them in a firm voice (as if the ghost was about 3 - "I am going out. In 5 minutes I am coming back and the money will be bnack on the table") and it seemed to work for her. She said that the only people who ever heard/saw things in her house were people who could cope with it, and that she just thought it was a lovely house and people didnt want to leave - quite like that take on it
Won't be looking at this thread again as dh is away for 4 days and ON MY OWN ....

Rhubarb · 27/03/2007 21:37

Hide somewhere and when it next shows up; jump out shouting "BOO!"

lulumama · 27/03/2007 22:14

PMSL rhubs ! did you see that on 'most haunted'

might have a long wait, was 4 1.2 years since the last visit !

thanks bunny !

Rhubarb · 27/03/2007 22:15

You mean someone actually did that? Did the ghost jump then?

Don't know why I'm encouraging you really, I'm a non-believer!
