Hi guys,

Thought I´d update you quickly and thank you for your prayers.

My mum phoned tonight to say that my sil has just been told she can have Chemo after all this wait (5 months!!!!) and shoving her from this hospital to another one for this test and that test. Obviously she is not out of the woods because it is the worst cancer there is I´m told (have completely forgotten where it is right now) but it is good news that she can have chemo as we thought they were fobbing her off until it was too late. She has to wait for a letter now to tell her when her 1st appt is.. sigh, another wait.

And.. re the letter. She told my mum: I had the most wonderful letter from M. I have to keep taking it out and reading it over and over. Let´s hope she follows my suggestions and asks Jesus to forgive her and to walk alongside her during this dark time then. Please God...

Thank you all once again. Thank you Lord.

longwaytogo · 14/11/2006 21:02

maymay we have just resigned as ministers in SA so wonder if I know the name of your cousin

Thanks you guys, he has gone to bed, catheter draining looking really flushed but I think thats the medicine to stop his bladder spasm.

PandaG · 14/11/2006 21:16

So gla dto hear your letter was well received MAymay.

LOngway - continuing to pray for DS

Just a thanks from me - been to parents' evening tonight. DS's teachers this year are so good for him, encourage his personality, inspire him,, and like him , which is a change from last year. Thank you God!

texasrose · 14/11/2006 21:35

Hi all,

Praise God MayMay - you just need to leave it to Him now.

Well done to your ds Panda! Isn't it wonderful when you get good reports of your dcs!

How are you doing LWTG? Are you bearing up with all this that's hapening with your ds? Are you okay financially? Please tell us how you want us to pray.

I'm suffering from stress - the reality of being back at work has hit me. I'm past the initial romance period when the novelty of wearing high heels and nice clothes again has worn off, and I'm feeling tired of all the plate spinning. It was only supposed to be part time but it's ended up 5 days a week (temporarily) - that's a big adjustment after 4 yrs as a SAHM.

That's the reason why I got so stressed with the state of the house this last weekend. Dh's job is v. demanding so it feels that we both have a lot to deal with. Also we've got big life questions in the air, like finding a new church etc. And we're adjusting to dd's food allergies (which were dianosed in October) which have changed our family's diet and my cooking a lot. And for some insane reason I've enrolled on a theology course starting in Jan! (No, it's not insane really, I think it's very good and right - but okay, maybe slightly bonkers)

Please pray that Jesus comes and meets us in the middle of all this stuff and leads us into his presence where there is peace and fulness of joy.

Love to everyone else.

CaptainDippy · 14/11/2006 22:07

Oh MayMay - wonderful news about the Chemo and about her response to your letter as well - like Texas said - leave the rest to Him now! Thank you for the update .....

lwtg - Hope it is a decent enough night for you all. xxxx

Glad the parent's evening went well Panda - great stuff!!

[[[[[hugs]]]]]]] Texas - thinking of you and praying for you honey!!

Off to bed now, v.tired bunny ... hop.... hop.....hop ........hop........

A flying visit... to say my tutor has been really impressed with my draft essay and my full essay, and is suggesting hardly any changes at all - he said much of what he says is just "nitpicking" anyway. He said for both of them I grasped the subject REALLY well!

(I explained to him about "Godspiration" ).

We also went over my sermon that I gave as well.

More tomorrow - I'm so tired. After seeing him, I dropped in on the rest of the PCC meeting - didn't finish till 10:30pm! Glad I went though, was able to back the vicar up on a few things that needed addressing!

God bless, and sleep well everyone (BTW good news about your SIL MayMay!)

PandaG · 14/11/2006 23:07

Fabbo Mary - so pleased to hear this!

MaryBS · 15/11/2006 08:30

Still , praise the Lord!

Will post more tonight. Only one slight problem - have discovered my bible study has to be in on Saturday, which gives me tonight and tomorrow night...

MayMay · 15/11/2006 08:45

LWTG - she was known as Margaret Baars (was married to a SA for a few years until he died) she has now reverted to her maiden name of Lewis. She lived in Durban, Musgrave area.

Agree with you all.. will leave it to God now. Am still flabbergasted with her response though! We are going back to the UK for a week in Jan so hope to see her then. We were beginning to think she wouldn´t be around. I DO hope the chemo works for her, she has been so brave throughout it all.

Thank you all SOOooooo much for your prayers.

longwaytogo · 15/11/2006 10:10

Not a bad night really, he slept with us woke at 4 got some painkillers down him and slept till 6,30, typing with one hand with other round him.

footprints · 15/11/2006 13:19

Hi everyone,
I am not doing so good. I am at the end of my tether with my anxiety emetophobia and CONSTANT worry over whether I or my daughter are going to catch something. It is getting worse and worse and I have asked God over and over for some help but it never comes. There is no one near here who can help and I feel like this is taking over my life. I don't know where else to turn other than to you guys. I can't face feeling this way for the rest of my life. God doesn't seem to hear my prayers, but maybe if someone else could just pray for me to find someone or something that can help, please.

footprints · 15/11/2006 13:24

LWTG just been reading about your ds. i really hope he is on the mend now, poor little thing.

sleepysooz · 15/11/2006 13:32

Footprints, I support you hugely with your emetophobia, rotten isn't it! hope you get some answers to your prayers soon

sleepysooz · 15/11/2006 13:38

I am forever worrying about it myself, to the point where my twins have only just started to mingle with other children (they are now 3) or should I say I have only just 'let them'

If I get wind of anything going around school (with my DS1) I feel so sick and anxious for weeks, and I worry on journeys on the bus, on holidays, anywhere really.

My parents don't understand it, I always go to them for support and they send me home to go and look after my family, when in actual fact I am too frightened to walk through the front door! I phone my DH to come home from work, anything but to be left by myself!

So you have my full understanding of this awful predicament. Especially being alone yourself!

sleepysooz · 15/11/2006 13:40

Footprints, sorry forgot to mention I will help pray for you!

longwaytogo · 15/11/2006 14:49

oh footprints so sorry your feeling like this and your a bit too far to come and give any practical help really. But will pray for you.

ds is on the mend he just has to sit still no walking at all. I am cbeebied out I think i've seen the same programmes at least twice today.

footprints · 15/11/2006 16:28

Thanks for your kind words, they mean a lot to me.

sleepysooz, I didn't realise you were in the same boat with the emetophobia. I just don't know what to do about it anymore. Don't understand why I have been given this "cross" to bear. Thanks for your support.

LWTG It must be hard keeping your ds sitting still!

PandaG · 15/11/2006 18:17

LOngway - glad DS is doing ok. I know that cbeebied out feeling only too well.

footprints - sorry to hear the emetophobia is really troubling you, will pray. there are lots of emetophobes on MN, check out previous threads on the topic for some more virtual support.

Hello! Remember me?! Where has the last fortnight gone? Wish I could say I've been on holiday but I haven't been anywhere (except a bit of socialising of an evening).

Haven't read back through the whole thread - please excuse me!

May the troubled, sad and lonely
Feel God's warm and gentle caress
May he plump up your heart like a pillow
And ease all your distress

May he show you that there's a tomorrow
When you don't want to live for today
And when you feel that all is lost
May he gently show you the way

May he gently rock your soul to sleep
When you feel its torn in two
And remind us day after day after day
How much your God loves YOU

longwaytogo · 15/11/2006 21:37

captaincaveman that is lovely

am exhausted off to bed

MaryBS · 16/11/2006 08:44

Footprints - praying for you and your family. God hears every prayer, its just that we don't yet know the reason why your prayers aren't being answered. I have seen that time and time again in my life, and sometimes years later I realise why it wasn't answered. I really do feel for you and ask God to reveal His purpose to you. Sooz, you too, I can't even begin to imagine how it makes you both feel.

Podmog - glad to hear some of you have recovered - praying that the rest of you catch up!

lwtg - glad DS is on the mend too!

CCM - good to see you again and thanks for sharing that prayer!

CD - you've gone quiet again. RU alright? Any news from Nanou yet?

God bless

Mary
