Back from the cold winds of Beeston brrrr. Always feel virtuous after playing hockey in the cold!

FA am praying for you and your dh, it must be hard enough without crazy pg hormones to contend with.

lwtg - hows dh doing today? Prayers for your family, I know how it feels to be abused but am not as brave as your dh, couldn't face going to court (yet!). You are both very brave.

MaryBS - congrats on your project! Forgot to ask how ds was after his nightmare? Did you get to the bottom of it?

MayMay prayers for your SIL, how are things?

SS how you feeling today? Hugs and prayers to you

oh podmog I get a bit more sleep than you but I do know what broken sleep is like we've had it for the last 3.11 yrs and its not nice.

marybs a friend of mines son suffered from night terrors sound very similar to what your son is doing - he would wake inconsolable and unable to say what the problem was. I think the advice they were given at the hospital is that even though they appear to be awake they are in fact asleep and although distressing for the parent the child doesn't remember it. Is this what is happening with him or does he rmember being upset?

MayMay · 24/11/2006 08:18

Just to let everyone know that I am praying for you all in your individual situations...

Thank you all for your continued prayers for SIL, DB and their DD. I´ll ´phone my DB tonight to see what the update is...

MaryBS · 24/11/2006 08:41

LWTG - you're probably right, it DOES sound like night terrors. Very unnerving though!

Podmog - so glad the vicar and his dw were able to help. Glad you've had a talk with your DH. I've been having problems with sleeping lately - so much going on in my head! I know how draining it can be and how much worse things seem after several nights of very little sleep. A big hug for you, and praying you get some well deserved rest! Thats what you need more than anything!

TR - yes, how is your Crohns?

CD - how are you today?

Maymay - praying for your SIL, family and you.

CCM - did I tell you I used to play in goal at hockey at school? Being a "lefty" I was useless with my stick, but pretty good with my feet (I used to play football as well). I gave it up because I was sick to death of being hit by flying balls!

Remembering ALL of you in my prayers.

God bless

Mary

Morning - Currently hoping both of my little beauties are resting atm, would be a nice miracle!! Feeling a bit sick and out-of-breath this morning, but ok - I always find Friday hard to struggle through for some reason, but hanging out for the w/e and lovely DH being home!!

Things are quite stressful in DippyLand - FIL is being a tetchy and bottled up as usual - I can just feel the antagonistic atmosphere pouring off of him, ifykwim!!? When MIL got home, she and FIL kept going off for little "private chats", so I know something's still up with FIL - didn't help DD1 picking up their other phone while he was talking on the other line - even though he didn't say anything, I could tell he was fuming. Eeek! Anyway, as result, MIL is going on and on and on and on and on .... ad infinitum about the house move and whether we have heard any more and are we bugging the solicitors etc enough .... blah, blah, blah .... It is driving DH (and me!) completely nuts - we ae doing everything we possibly can - Do they think that we do not want to move out asap!!!!!? Argh!! Anyway, pleeeeease pray for lots of patience and for stuff to go as quickly as it possibly can with the house move and for in-laws to be content with just waiting (and being nice to us!) for now!! Thank you!!

Anyway .....

Oh Mary, poor poor little DS - praying for him, poor little thing. Has he divulged any more about what is happening while he is asleep, you need to encourage him to talk about it - praying he will talk to you! [hugs]

Podmog - Praise God for you lovely Vicar and his wife!! Glad you managed to get out and get some headspace last night - so pleased you and DH managed to talk as well. How are you feeling today honey?? [hugs]

Waiting for your update MayMay. How are you doing honey??

Darn, DD1 is still awake and crashing round her room. Oh well, at least I got a teeny bit of a break, eh!!?

Best go and see if I can get another couple of things done before she starts howling for me ....

Poor DD1 just asked to have nappy put back on after 5 weeks of potty training - she had wet herself while having her rest in her room and was beside herself, poor love. I feel soooo bad. I usually put a potty in her room, but I forgot this time. I put a nappy on her (she was so upset I didn't want to say no) and she is resting in her pram downstairs now. What do I doooooo!!?

OP posts:
PandaG · 24/11/2006 12:45

Hello all

soundws like a lot of us are under stress right now. .

POdmog - glad to hear your vicar is helping practically as well as giving you some space. praying for you all honey

CD praying for patience, and that the solicitors do get their arses in gear [sorry - favourite phrase in the panda household when mini pandas are out of earshot ]and push your move through. I still have to put DD in a nappy at night, and she is 4.9, so could you maybe use a nappy for when your DD has a rest - or pullups, or washable pants - this kind of tghing might be better as not a complete backwards step but just for her confidence?

Just somne praise from me - just back from Bible Study - the passage was 2nd half of Rev 9, which imakes really depressing reading, but the group discussion was helpful, and t hen the talk was just amazing! Am feeling so inspired.

Love and prayers for you all

texasrose · 24/11/2006 15:12

Hi again!

Harrisey you clever girl you! Well done on your great essay mark. It's lovely t ge that kind of encouragement, isn't it? Just don't get too competitive with Mr Harrisey!

CD - I'm praying for peace, patience and providence for you! (how cheesy - it sounds like one of those awful sermons where all the headings start with the same letter )Just think how much you'll appreciate your house when you get it!

Mary how is your ds now? Is he having unsettled nights generally ATM? poor mite...

Thanks for asking about the Crohn's. It's not good actually - I'm very wiped out because I've had it really badly for a while now and my poor body is knackered!

CCaveman - ha ha, no curries for me. Not much of anything I'm afraid - I'm finding it really difficult to eat at all . So if you could pray for a rapid recovery I'd really appreciate it.

Also...could you please pray for my brother? He is not a christian and one of my long-term prayer requests for him has been to make friends with some christians. God, who always goes one better, answered by my brother's best mate becoming a christian! So best mate is getting married this weekend (to a christian girl) and it's going to be a lovely christian wedding. So could you pray that God would speak to bruv through the service and also through the people he meets there (lots of christians).

Have a great weekend! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2006 18:01

Hello all!

Man, I am knackered!!

Ahem.

Thank you for your encouraging words! Panda - I tired to put DD in a nappy for sleeps, but she isn't having any of it, sigh - Anyway, when she woke up, she wanted the loo and didn't want her nappy back on afterwards - she didn't want her pants on either, so went commando for the rest of the afternoon without a single accident!!

Glad you feeling a wee bit better Texas honey - continuing to pray for improvement. Praying lots that your bro will feel God's aewsome prescence at this Wedding tomorrow and really be convicted of / by Him! Praying for this couple as they prepare to spend the rest of thier lives together!!

Hi guys,

I have just called my bro in the UK... my SIL had a very very bad week last week with the pain. She finishes the antibiotics to clear up her infection and blood clots by this weekend and is having another CT scan to check all is clear early next week. All being well she can start chemo the following Tuesday (so a week and a half away still - sigh!).

She called out to my brother to say thank you for the letter and that she didn´t take offence at any of it and that she takes it out and reads it two or three times a week. Apart from the obvious cancer prayers, please would you pray that God would speak to her and she would ask Him into her life.

Thank you so much. Remembering you all in my prayers.. God bless.

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2006 19:50

Consider it done MayMay! Praying the Anti-B's clear up this horrid infection and that she can start chemo as planned. Keep us updated. xxxx

Just want to say, Good Night and God bless y'all.

I know I really appreciate the fellowship on here, and I'm really touched, that no matter what our background is, no matter what we WERE, we are one in the Lord Jesus, and thats ALL that matters.

(now look what you made me do, I've gone all slushy )

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2006 07:11

Awww, bless you Mary!

The Fellowship on here is really fab - thank you guys, you are great!

If you could pray for DD1 to stop being such a grumpy sod, that would be great.

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 25/11/2006 10:41

ohhhh i have a grumpy little man too - pithn isn't it.

I spent 3 hours at 24/1 last eve it was awesome, spent first hour just resting in God, watching some fantastic worship dvd's it went soooo quickly - prayed for all you guys.

the second hour i spent part of it reading phillipians and just being with God and the third hour I spent talking to a wonderful christian woman of our congregation who just listened and listened.

Then came home and spoke to a friend on msn who prayed for me via msn - how cool is that.

Any way spending morning applying for loans - how come it says one thing online then the amount payable a month suddenly goes up once you get on the phone to these guys. At this rate the car will be gone by the time we get a loan aghhhhhh

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2006 11:29

Wonderful lwtg, wonderful!

Loans. Sigh. Mmmmmmmm. DH says just go for the one with cheapest interest rate, that is all you need to care about - I am soooo clueless about these things. Since DH's Grandma died, we've been debt-free, which has been v.liberating and amazing - Except we're just about the mortgage ourselves up the eyeballs - Eeeeeek! We need a new car too ..... Gulp!! Finances. Sigh.

Hope everyone's having a good Sat - lovely lady from church and her 2 teenage daughters are having DD's for the a/n - MUCH needed break, looking forward to it!!

Awwww, DD2 is watching Bagpuss with daddy who's been sorting out our vids ....

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 25/11/2006 11:30

Yes - I did say vids - we're v.behind in the Dippy Household ....

Hi folks,
I asked for your help in April when my uncle died, well I guess I need to ask for some prayers right now too.

I have recently suffered sudden aquired profound hearing loss which has turned my life upside down. I am now totally deaf and the prognosis is not hopeful. The doctors may never find out why this has happened. I'm still reeling from the shock of being plunged into this silent world and I'm not coping with it too well. I would love it to come back as quickly as it went, but failing that I need the strength to just carry on nd accept it. I hope that makes sense.

Also my Dad was rushed into hospital last night with a blood clot on his lung. He's been admitted and I'm worried about him and my poor mother who's had to cope with such a lot recently.

I guess I've been feeling a little abandoned and it's hard to keep the faith when bad things just happen one after another.

So, thanks in advance. I really appreciate all your prayers at the moment.

PandaG · 25/11/2006 12:21

Consider it done Kokeshi - welcome back

praying Maymay

enjoy the break this afternoon CD - praying DD cheers up and stays dry!

Longway - sounds you had a good time - waht is 24/1? Praying via msn - cool!

Mary - yep I really appreciate the fellowship here too - am blesswed with great friends and fellowship in RL too

CaptainDippy · 25/11/2006 13:01

Welcome back kokeshi! I just do not know what to say - praying for a miracle for your hearing, you must feel so isolated and afraid right now and I am sorry you have to go through this. Keep with us here - we can offer you support and prayer through this. xxxx Praying for your dad too - and for you mum as she copes with his being in hospital so ill. Please keep us informed. [hugs] you sweetheart - you know where we are. xxxx

OP posts:
MaryBS · 25/11/2006 13:22

Kokeshi, praying for you and your poor father (and mother too). I can't imagine what you must be going through and I pray for strength and understanding for you and for an explanation too. Take care, and be gentle with yourself.
I feel I ought to be able to say more, but will say just this, if you need to talk, we are here.

God bless

Mary

kokeshi · 25/11/2006 13:23

Thanks, my mum just phoned the hospital and he has pneumonia too. Poor thing. He's getting treated for it so that's good and we're going up to see him today at 3pm. I was just thinking that I don't appreciate enough how precious each day is, it's so easy to get stuck projecting and wishing for a different past.

Cheers guys, you're in my prayers too x
