Podmog, sorry for you, its hard by yourself, I did it for first 12 years of our marriage, its no joke, I don't know how single parents go on, they deserve a medal!

My DH did a Sahara Desert Trek a few years ago now, in aid of the National Asthma Campaign, we had to raise loads of money, it was so satisfying for him to do, we paid for the trip ourselves, it was then I thought lets have another baby, ended up to be twins, what joy!

Anyway hope you survive the night, how about munchies and movies in bed (yours) then slip into one of theirs when they are all asleep! good luck

texasrose · 07/10/2006 19:57

Help! I need prayer quick! I'm having a 'challenging' day (hmmm...) First my ds woke me up extra-early this morning with no chance of going back to sleep....

THen i discovered we have mice in the house! EEEEKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I've been cleaning and fumigating like a madwoman and laying down 'humane' traps for them......

And now I've just discovered that one of our bank accounts is being used fraudulently! I have no ideas what to do and no-one I know is at home so I can't phone anyone.

Dh is coming home tomorrow (after neatly 3 weeks' absence) and I just feel stressed up to the eyeballs. Help! Anyone!

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2006 20:20

Hello all!

Feeling sooooooo tired this evening - NCT Sale went well and I picked up some absolute bargains!!

DD2 not wanting to go to bed, v.unusual for her - has stinker of a cold, so please pray for the poor wee mite.

Mars - Cheers for the update on Dave - pleased he is doing well, praying for the results on Mon (let us know when you know) and for the GvHD too, sounds v.irritating!!

Podmog, glad you managed to speak to your Vicar and soooo pleased the chat went well - must be a huge weight off your shoulders honey!! Continuing to pray for Bishop Mike and Anthea - great news that she is breathing alone and is off the sedation - praying for more improvement over the next few days / weeks - soooo pleased she is responding .....

Awwwww, poor DS1 NQSTM - praying for him in his sad and lonely state. Glad that you can help and support him through this. How old is he??? Praying it is resolved quickly.

Sooz - Bum to your twins' sickness bug!! How are they atm? Gone to bed ok?? Hope they are miraclulously better and you get to go to church tomorrow! If not - promise us you will go next week!!

Poor you Texasrose!!!!!!!!!! Glad DH is back tomorrow Praying that the mice bugger off soon (might be worth getting someone in on Monday in my experience....) As for your card - I think there's a lot of it going round atm. My friend had her card "cloned" and the person tried to extract £300 from her account, fortunately it didn't work - Have they taken a lot from your account?? You need to call the card company and cancel your cards NOW. If you need any help / support - email me ..... captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk [[hugs]]

Hi Clumsy!!!!! Welcome - thank you for your kind words - feel free to join us anytime honey!!

OP posts:
texasrose · 07/10/2006 20:31

THanks CD!
I've just cancelled the card. What seems to have happened is that someone went into my local branch and took out £200 in foreign currency from the 'tellers' (assistants). Isn't that weird???

And no it definitely wasn't me - or dh as this account is on my name only (long story as to why).

Am panicking a bit about identity fraud. I need to try to calm down as I've done the sensible hing and cancelled the card and apart from phoning the branch on Mon a.m. there's nothing I can do.

Eeeekkkkkkkkk! What a day!

Sorry to be selfish and not say hi to the rest of you! Hope you are all great. I'll be praying esp. from you tomorrow sleepysooz!

CaptainDippy · 07/10/2006 20:45

TR!! What a weird thing to happen!!! glad the card it cancelled now, rest assured your account is safe now. You poor thing - not selfish at all - I'd be completely freaking out!!!!! [hugs]]

Thanks for your support texarose, dippy and podmog, don't think church is on the books for tomorrow but will definitely try again next sunday, met everyone at church autumm fair today, we got such a lovely welcome, and people mentioned that they'd missed us, so hey ho of to church we go (next week) illnesses permitting!

Brill to see link up re: mike and anthea CD thanks! yes twins still in own beds, but we are still up in the night up to 5 - 10 times. DH starting to feel it a bit, he never shows he's stressed with lack of sleep, but lately he's showing signs of anxiousness! I pray he finds strength to carry on the brilliant job he does as their daddy!

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 04:52

Yey for your DH Sooz - my DH is pretty amazing too! Glad the Autumn Fair was good and you met some lovely people.

I'm doing a Mary!! Feeling v.sick and unable to sleep Keep retching and sooooo tired - yuk yuk yuk - Please pray if you do read this msg anytime soon

Right going to attempt to go back to bed and sleep now ......

OP posts:
MaryBS · 08/10/2006 06:16

cd - POOR YOU! Praying that this sickness comes to an end soon and you are able to enjoy your pregnancy! Hoping you get some more sleep. I am awake because the 2 holy terrors (DD and M.'s DD) are awake. I would have thought they'd have been tired after a full day at legoland. No, they FINALLY went to sleep about 10:30. 5:30 they were sneaking into our bedroom, because battery warning on the smoke alarm beeped...

Podmog - glad to read Bishop Mike and Anthea's blog. Praying that the good work continues, but its all sounding hopeful!

Sooz - praying for the sickness in your family, and looking forward to you posting going back to church. What happened at the Autumn fair sounded positive!

TR - praying that you can sort this fraud out. Its awful having to wait till Monday, but you've done the best thing!

Hoping and praying that one day "doing a Mary" will be something totally selfless and good, rather than waking up in the middle of the night

texasrose · 08/10/2006 08:44

Good morning!

I've just read Bishop Mike and Anthea.
I feel so much for them, as I've had my share of scary hospital situations...my prayers go out to them.

So we have mice! Oh dear...my dh is going to get off his plane this afternoon and have to deal with this...Last night was dreadful. I could not sleep at all and I kept hearing little scurrying noises under my bed (!!!!!) so I went downstairs at about midnight only to see one run under the sofa. aaaaggghhhh! So we've definitely got more than one. In the middle of the night I worked something out - they've been nibbling away at my wheat pack, which was in our wardrobe, (like a hotwater bottle type thing but with wheat in it - you put it in the microwave to warm it up) and they've been hiding the wheat kernels in my dh's boots which he hasn't worn since last winter (!!!!) in the bottom of our wardrobe - for their winter stash. So I've hoovered up all the wheat kernels (how awful is this, esp. as my dd has a severe wheat allergy and it turns out there's the stuff all over the house???!!!). My sis told me I must disinfect my kitchen all the time because as she said they'll have been all over the house, inside the toaster....yuk! it makes me feel sick just thinking about it. Does anyone else have experience of mice and what best to do?

As for my bank card - I managed to speak to my FIL last night who, bless him, really does know about money and banking. He thinks that it is not identity fraud but a banking error (going by the info on the statement) so that made me feel much better. Hopefully it's just a storm in a teacup.

Hopefully by this afternoon I'll be feeling a bit more together and we'll have amagnificent romantic reunion!

Never mind about church Sleepysooz, try again next week...are there any mid-week things you cuold go to to ease yourself in again?

MaryBS · 08/10/2006 09:37

Hi TR - sounds better news about your card! Must put your mind at ease anyhow!

Our experience is that mice LOVE mars bars. We bought the humane traps and they never went near them, so I had to settle for "little nipper" traps, baited with mars bar pieces, but keep them out of the way of little fingers!

I'd then send DH out to check the traps in the morning, I couldn't bear to see the little bodies! I do feel for you though.

I've come on here to escape the children. Up since 5:30, they're now all playing in separate rooms, to stop them killing each other (or me killing them). This is NOT the frame of mind I want to be in as we go to church!

sleepysooz · 08/10/2006 12:20

Texarose - you poor thing, we had mice last week, sorry 'mouse' I was sat on settee with the twins with our feet up till help came along, it had come in with my DH lunch bag from the porch, I could hear nibbling, aaghh! just the thought! it was a lovely little thing and was so frightened of us, (that was only 1 though) we managed to run it out of patio door in lounge, (gone under decking, not sitting out there for a while) good luck!

Marybs - sorry you've had to endure the early birds this morning, pray that you find patience before you go to church!

CD - sorry your're feeling yukky again, I really feel for your pregnancy related sickness, are you 10 weeks yet, should start easing soon, unless you're having twins (haa haa) sorry, wicked sense of humour on a sunday morning! twins not too bad this morning, sickness subsided, thank goodness! so I am sterilising/steaming everything now, start anew with settee, carpet and toys being clean!

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 12:41

Mary - Yuk to the little terrors getting up sooooo early - Grrrr! Hoping you felt better and calmer once you got to church. (Was Legoland good any way??)

Felt so crap this morning, DH went to church with DD's alone. Feeling a bit better now, but still poorly. I cried cos I just can't believe I am ill again - pleae pray it goes soon!!

Texas - You must be sooooo excited about seeing DH later on!! We had rats twice last year and we got someone from the Council to come and deal with them for us. The best thing to do is to find out where they are coming from and then call the Council and get them to come and deal with it. We've had no problems since - Poor you!!

Need the loo......

sleepysooz · 08/10/2006 17:01

CD - Your yukky bug has lasted tooooo long, have you been to the doctors, not that they can give you anything, I'd still be inclined to get myself checked out, you poor thing! I pray for your recovery soon!

longwaytogo · 08/10/2006 18:06

Marybs and whoever it is that has the book would love to read it so my email is harry clan four (no) at tiny online dot co dot uk Thanks.

Jockey · 08/10/2006 18:36

Hi please may I join in? I am really pleased to find this thread! My ds needs your prayers as he is not speaking very much at all, although ok in the home. I am going into school with him tomorrow to see what can be done.

Haven't read the whole thread but CD I hope you get better very soon!

PandaG · 08/10/2006 19:29

Hello Jockey and Clumsy, pleased to meet you. You are both very welcome to our little band of lunatics (sorry that should read supportive virtual friends !) The more the merrier we say.

Thanks for all the updates, and the link to Bishop Mike's blog. Continuing to pray for them, and Dave.

Oh CD, when are you going to feel better? I can so empathise with the sickness, I had 6 weeks off work with it when PG with DS, got to the point if anyone else had suggested ginger tea I was going to scream! Will continue to pray.

Texas, praying that your bank problem gets sorted asap, enjoy having DH back

Great to have you back longway, of course you have been missed!

NQSTM - poor little DS1. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Podmog, so glad yuou had a good chat with your new vicar, praying that this will be a real move forward in you being at home in your church once more. Love to you honey.

Pandas are just back from a w/end away visiting very dear friends. The DC's were dire, but fortunately said friends can rise above it, but the combined noise levels of ours egging theirs on to far louder than they would ever produce on their own were eneough to give the adults headaches! Early night beckons!

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 19:38

Evening - still feeling v.weak - tried to eat some dinner, not overly successfully, but I tried!! I think I might go to the drs Sooz, though, as you said, there's nothing they can do. Like DH said to me earlier - my immune system must be pretty weak atm as my body is working overtime growing this wee one and looking after two v.active toddlers - I haven't had a chance to give my body the time it needs to get better. Hoping I feel better sooooooon. Thank you for your prayers!!

Welcome Back lwtg - Of course you were missed honey - it's nice to have you back ..... do email about that book, it is really worth the read!!

Welcome Jockey!!!! Nice to have you with us!! Will definitely pray for your DS and his speech. How old is he? You mentioned he was at school. Hope it goes well talking to his teachers etc. Keep us updated....

Think I'll go to bed soon, feeling v.faint.

CaptainDippy · 08/10/2006 19:42

Hi Panda - Go to bed soon honey - sounds like you need it!! [hugs]

MaryBS · 08/10/2006 21:03

Welcome Jockey. Am praying for your DS. How old is he?

LWTG - of COURSE we missed you! Welcome back!

CD - get down that Dr's girl, its not just you, you've got to think about! Hope and pray you're feeling better soon!

I'm going to have an early night now. Legoland was good yesterday, weather was fabulous. We're going again in a couple of weeks for the fireworks! It'll be heaving then...

Its good to come on here and 'feel' the fellowship. Just wish that it could somehow rub off on the Readers' forum I'm signed up to. Now there's a place that could REALLY do with a rocket up it!

Notquitesotiredmum · 08/10/2006 21:03

Evening all

Just flying in to say thank you for your prayers for ds1 - who is 6. We bumped into a couple of his friends this morning and they seemed cheerful enough, but ds still feels very shaky and says that they were being kind cause the grown ups were watching. He's feeling quite scared about school this week and is a very vulnerable little person at the moment. Your prayers/support are much appreciated.

Had a wonderful presentation at Church this morning from a church worker who is working with Palestinian communities in Gaza and the West Bank. Hugely humbling, putting our problems into perspective, as we learned about the terrible poverty in Gaza caused by lack of water supplies.

Sooo sorry that you have another tummy bug CD. Lots of prayers for you and for all.

snuffy143 · 08/10/2006 22:11

Hello. I watch this thread every day and pray for all concerned but have never had the courage to contribute before. I am the Mum of the 'dear friends' the Pandas have been visiting. The 'dear' sentiment is more than returned, PandaG! I just feel inspired to let you all know that the mini Pandas were not at all dire as far as we could see. Loud, granted, when combined with our DC. But cute and funny and entertaining as well! Our DD (7) spent 15 minutes at bedtime sobbing that she missed mini Pandas and would not be consoled that they will be coming back next month! She wanted to email Panda DS (6) immediately to make herself feel better! So, one person's 'dire' about their DC is not always another's perspective! I love all you Pandas dearly! Have a good week, all on this thread.
