Is it something in the air, or is mn going through a 'teenage' phase?! Thank God for the sense of peace found on this thread at least.

Can I ask for a quick prayer for a couple of friends of mine who are suffering in different ways atm? Thanks.

God bless everyone on this thread.

Nx

PS I am doing okay atm btw. Not brilliantly, but keeping my head above water. Just. x

Please Pray, am still feeling dreadful and I can feel the AND trying to sneak in, have been in tears 4 times in the last 4 days and I NEVER cry, at least not in public.

Had more blood tests done today and am seeing Consultant and havinf scan tomorrow. Am worrying about money now as well as I have been too ill to work and as a Self Employed Data Analyst there is no one who can do it for me, and if I dont do the work I dont get paid and we are fast going through our savings to the point we are borrowing money from PiL to pay my husbands annual travel card, as the money we had saved towards it has been spent on other things.

Everything just feels to be spiralling out of control and I feel like I am spiralling into despair, feel so ill, I can hardly think straight most of the time.

So few weeks left to go, but feel like things are going downhill very quickly

Hello!

How was the drs N3?? Praying for baby DS!

Steppenmum - Not self-righteous AT ALL - thought provoking and inspired - we all understand your connection isn't great, but you are always welcomed and appreciated when you can pop in! Praying for DS and tough situation with your team honey.

TexasRose - Dittoto everything that has been said / suggested about your DD - thinking she might just be a very tired, over-stimulated little bunny by the end of the day. Praying.

Praying for the essay Mary - yey for getting it done, good old God, eh!!? hope it comes back with lots of praise and helpful comments!

Going to go and get on with that new thread now .........

Hmmm, just been reading some of the atheist/other religion themed threads.
Found some of the comments really hurtful and sad, totally against freedom of beliefs etc. Wow,nothing like religion to fire people up!!

Agree with ?MaryBS who would like to post on the thread something along the lines of "I am praying for you all" .

TR - it could well be tiredness and/or overstimulation. Does your daughter fall asleep easily after going there? If you took her out in the car, would she fall asleep straight away, indicating tiredness? What do you know of the nursery, in terms of what the children do? Do they have a quiet place where they can nap if required? Is there any possibility AT ALL she isn't happy there? What can the staff tell you in terms of the other children there - they won't give you names, and they'll have to couch it in diplomatic terms, but do they have any 'problem' children there?

Praying for you and DD.

Hello again to Worzella and CCM! Nice prayer CCM.

I'm in meltdown. The draft of my essay is completed and I've emailed it off. I'm going to chill for the rest of the evening, but my brain hurts. I've had some (God) inspired moments of inspiration when finishing it off, so I hope and pray that's how they'll be seen when its marked. All the dodgy theology is posed as questions, so I can't get blasted for it . Not that they would anyway, but after my experiences of the other week.... .

From the rising of the sun, to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised.

Hi, just a quick post whilst dh baths ds!
PandaG, yes would love to meet for coffee sometime in Meadowhall - hopefully this side of Christmas.

Am praying for all on this thread, both those who've posted and those who've just been reading/observing. May we all be blessed with the compassion and love for one another that our Lord feels for us all. Amen.

Later! xxx

Hello all,

Could you pray for me please?

Before half term my dd (4 yo) was having major behavioural upsets (constant tantrums, discontentment with everything, being awfully rude and disrespectful to me, not doing as she was told etc)...

Then we had a lovely half term week and she was so happy nad well behaved. I was so proud of her and wondered if I'd imagined all the awful behaviour.

But today she went back to nursery and when she came home she was exactly the same - dreadful behaviour. It is almost as if she has turned into a different child altogether. She talks completely differently and reacts differently (for the much much worse). It has completely thrown me and made me wonder what it is about school that turns her so nasty! Is it just tiredness or is she picking up bad behavoiur from other kids? I know that the teachers say she's wonderfully behaved while she's there, but it's when she comes home that she just falls to pieces...

PLease pray for wisdom, compassion and patience for me!

Steppemum - ITA with TR on this - you came across to me as enthusiastic and excited, and as for the disappearing, you'd warned us that you couldn't spend too long on here, due to your connection. I appreciated the thoughtful answer you gave!

I'm just coming to the end of what I'm doing with my essay, and had a brainwave re: one bit of it, I'll share with you:

"And Jesus came by water and blood, and the Spirit testifies to this as the spirit is truth (beginning of 1 John 5, paraphrased). The reference to ?water and blood? brings to mind the spear piercing Jesus? side in John?s gospel 19:34 and 35 ?Instead, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear and at once blood and water came out. (He who saw this has testified so that you may also believe. His testimony is true and he knows that he tells the truth)?. Note how John and 1 John are pulled together at this point. Both speak of testimony that this is true. The eye witness to the execution of Jesus is linked to the beginning of 1 John ?what we have seen with our eyes? and the Spirit, whom the writer declares to know, testifying in the truth. To me, the author is deliberately establishing his credentials as to the truth of what he is saying in the letter."

Will pray for your DS and for the team you work with... was going to say more, but I have 3 children killing each other!

HI Steppemum!

Just a quick post as in the middle things.

I'll pray for you all.

Also...you didn't sound self-righteous in the least! You sounded caring and confident of your faith.

God bless!

Hi everyone, I think I owe you an apology, especially Mary as I wrote that long post, and then disappeared for ages (sick kids, stressful week) but really because the post was a bit of a hijack (getting into theological debate) which was not my intention at all. When I wrote it I intended it to be encouraging but when I re read it this time it sounded all self righteous etc, not my intention at all It always comes over so differently in print.

It has been so encouraging reading some of this thread (too long to read it all!!) and seeing how God is working and answering prayers. I wish I could drop in everyday to update, but that isn't possible.

I was wondering of you could pray for me. We are having a tough time at the moment. My ds (nearly 4) is going through a rough patch and then this week we have had a crisis with the team we work with. We are the team leaders and are getting lots of flack. It is one of those situations where the couple appear to be the victims, but that is because others don't know the whole story, and my dh and another leader have spent all week trying to do conflict resolution, and we are all exhausted. It is good to know that our reputation is before God and not men. All the people concerned are believers, so please pray that the Holy Spirit would speak to all involved and show us the way forward in unity.

Bless you all, I love that song someone mentioned a while ago

Every Blessing you pour down I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in Lord, still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be his name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Blessed be your name

(sorry, lyrics not quite right at the end!)

Hi All

Aparently this is one of the most popular/ fastest moving threads. There was a reference to us in another thread a while ago, pointing out (kindly, but in a slightly bemused sort of way) that we are often top of the active convos list!

Hurrah - and hi NASW!

Prayers for all. God bless.

Thank you PandaG - You always have such nice, lovely, encouraging, kind, wise things to say - your input is greatly apprecaited!

I agree LadyHeather (an honour to have you here! ) - Repect and a non-judgemental attitude is sadly lacking from a lot of threads on MN right now - You're welcome here whenever you like!!

Astrophe - Ditto to MaryBS - Come here whenever you would like to honey!! You've got two very young children, so I am not surprised you are struggling sweetheart - I have 14 months between my two and there's been plenty of times in the past 18 months I've felt I couldn't go on anymore and I just couldn't cope. Keep focussed and know that we are all praying for you here. //[[hugs]]

Mortuary - I have to admit, I haven't the time to "surf" MN much, but some of the stuff I've seen on occasion, has made my toes curl - I have been personally baited on a couple of occasions for doing absolutely nothing, just minding my own business and trying to offer a bit of support and advice for other parents. I think MN needs A LOT of prayer right now - things seem to have escalated too far in some cases. I thank God for this lovely thread where people can come and chat and not feel judged or baited by others - that was the intention when I set it up and I am glad it still stands ...... Do feel free to come here whenever you need to, but I don't blame you for deciding to "take a break" for a wee while! //[hugs]

MaryBS - You sounds busy, busy, busy - careful to find time for yourself and time for your family too - I know you will, but just "prodding" you in a loving manner!! I am glad you are getting so involved with church and enjoying yourself and delighting yourself in God - Great stuff! Praying for Judy - Keep us informed honey!

Will try and start the Nov thread tonight while DH is out at church meeting and after I get home from BELLY DANCING!!!! (Don't ask .....)

Keep praying for potty training!!
