Mary, LOVE the 3 hums!!
Glad you were able to express your happy clappy side a little - I think we all need to learn to worship in a variety of ways, so good for you.

MarsLady · 16/10/2006 10:17

Okay, sad update: Simon's machines will all be turned off today. His boys are going in to say goodbye today. Please please pray for them. They are 11 and 8. It's going to be hard for them all. Simon's mother is likely to be around and she's not the ... well let's just say she's not easy and this could all get rather horrible.

Please pray for Mandy. Her life is about to change completely. Pray that she makes the right decisions about what she wants to do in the right time. Please pray that her friends come around her and hold her up and that God would bring her peace and strength in this time.

Thank you.

CaptainDippy · 16/10/2006 10:37

So . Praying hard (and crying) for that poor wee family - praying Simon's death draws them all together rather than busts them apart. Praying espcially for Mandy that somehow God gives her the strength to carry on - esp for her boys. Praying for their sons as they say goodbye to their dad. Words are completely inadequate right now. Prayers and thoughts are very much with them. Thank you for letting us know Mars. xx

Glad everyone seems to have had good w/e's - Happy Monday to all - lots of positive vibes and love, [hugs] and prayers ......

OP posts:
PandaG · 16/10/2006 13:42

MaryBS · 16/10/2006 14:55

Marsy, praying for Simon's poor family. Praying that Simon will soon be safe in the Lord's hands. May God bless his family and encompass them in His love. May he protect them and keep them together in the months and the years to come

texasrose · 16/10/2006 16:27

hi everyone!
sorry I've not posted much over the last couple of days.

Sleeysooz I'm praying that you get the treatment you need. I so agree that you sholudn't have to battle this out on your own. It's okay to say that sometimes pain is too big for us to deal with and we need help! Having had lots of physical pain myself (long term Crohns disease and big scary pneumonia last year) I've come to believe more and more that it's in our weakness that God's strength is made perfect (that's from 2 Corinthains 12).

Hi to CCM and Ali! about me....I've got one ds (2.5 yr old) and dd (4 yrs), married to dh, living in Hertfordshire (which was nominiated the worst county in the UK to live in! . I love reading, crafty things like sewing and cardmaking, gardening, and going running (my 'me time'!) I work part time in a school library and we go to a Baptist church. That's me in a nutshell!

Can I ask you to pray for me? I'm in huge pain with AF... It hurts to stand up and it hurts to sit down...it just hurts!!! I feel so sick and shaky today...

On the plusside dd's skin is looking and feeling really good! since we cut out the foods she is allergic to. I hope hope hope that it is starting to make a difference. Praise God!

Also...could you pray for wisdom for me? It's dd's parents' evening on THurs and I want to talk to the teachers about how to handle it if dd gets an allergic reaction at school...she'll be there all day from January and she'll be sitting eatingf lunch with children who will be eating stuff she's allergic to. SHe had a severe reaction at the childminder's last week and the cm handled it brilliantly...but I'm just not sure how it's going to go at school. Also i want to talk about how to handle her excema esp. int he afternoons when she's tired (she is a habitual scratcher and sractches until she bleeds then carries on...)

I just don't want to come across as a paranoid/difficult/overprotective parent. So it's how to say all this without sounding accusing/defensive/like i expect the teachers to work miracles. Sorry to ramble there but it is on my mind as you can imagine.

take care, see you later!

CaptainDippy · 16/10/2006 16:41

Praying for you with AF TR and for DD and meeting with school - praying for lots of understanding and clear communication - and a satisfactory outcome!! (Is that too much to ask????) Glad she is looking more chipper atm!!

Yey to having some child free time with DH's Panda!! Are you going away or just staying at home??

Prayers and Love to all. xxxx

weirdbird · 16/10/2006 20:59

Praying for everyone

Won't be posting much, but am keeping up still and praying

Pregnancy induced motion sickness has gotten worse again and I don't want to take anymore medication so am just having to limit my online presence a LOT especially as I have to prioritise the websites I help run/moderate

Am a little fed up of being pregnant now (understatement of the year!) along with the motion sickness, hernia is playing up more and more, almost constant indigestion now and I am already rattling from the tablets I am already on. Back also going to pot, saw the osteopath today which has eased it a lot, but can't afford to go more than every few weeks as its expensive, oh and have bad water retention to ankles are nicely balloned.

Have another 7 weeks before they consider me to term am literally counting them down and starting to feel very tired, not just physically but emotionally, spiritually.

Please pray the next 7 weeks just fly by for me, I have avoided the antenatal depression that plagued my last pregnancy and would really like to avoid it till the end, but can feel the non stop feeling ill starting to grind me down.

Thank you all

On the flip side, God is blessing us as a family day by day at the moment and providing for us.

So will continue to lurk and pray, but will just be posting quick updates from now on xxx

Cant wait to chat to you all on the flip side!!!!

longwaytogo · 16/10/2006 22:05

weirdbird will pray you feel tons better honey, you do whatever you need to do to get that baby to term.

Mars so about simon.

marybs at being able to worship as feels right

pandag fantastic some night free child time just you make the most of it, but don't do anything naughty.

katzg me and you both hun

sleepysooz you made another appointment yet?

ds much better no complaints since yesterday so antib's doing their job.

longwaytogo · 16/10/2006 22:06

oh aye went to friends baptism last night - full dunking it was lovely never been to one before.

harrisey · 16/10/2006 22:24

Please pray for dh's man flu. It is driving me insane!

MaryBS · 17/10/2006 06:31

Weirdbird, so that you're feeling like this. If you need a chat IRL, I'll happily give you a ring. If you're feeling sick, I guess it can't help looking at the screen

Hoping and praying for a gentle last few months of pregnancy for youCD - praying for the school situation for you.

LWTG - sorry I missed you last night. I'm just thankful that I am going to church and praising the Lord. I'll worship him anywhere and any way I can. It doesn't bother me that I'm not in a happy clappy church normally, but its nice to experience it even so. However we pray, the prayers go to God. .
I've never been to a "full dunking" either. I have a slight fear of water, and the thought of putting my head under would freak me out!

N3- hows your DH and his friend and family? Praying for them...

Harrisey, praying for your man and his flu. I REALLY sympathise!

TR - hope you're feeling better. My period has just started, so I'm coming out in sympathy! With me its short and sharp, over in about 3 days, but rough while it lasts! Good news about your DD. Hope and pray that continues! The school should be pretty good about the allergy. Our school has a child with a severe nut allergy, and the school is constantly stressing "no nuts".

Mars - how is Simon's wife and family? I presume Simon is now with the Lord? So for them, but he is in the best place now

weirdbird · 17/10/2006 10:04

Thank you Mary, thats very kind xxx

I keep meaning to ask, am I the only person with a LJ?

CaptainDippy · 17/10/2006 11:07

Morning all!

Oh weirdbird - I am sorry it has been a rough ride for you with this PG honey - praying so mch that these last 7 weeks would be be better than you expect and over so quickly - looking forward to your birth announcement already!!!!! You will be in all our thoughts and prayers - and as already has been said - you do whatever you need to do to get this baby to term honey!! You know we are here if you should ever need us - would love to help in anyway I possibly can. [hugs] xxxx What is an LJ????

Pleased that DS seems better lwtg - let us know how it goes at school!

Praying for the Man Flu (grrrrr!) - total sympathy from this corner too!

Glad you enjoyed the "dunking" lwtg! I was Baptised by full emmersion in a swimming pool and it was fabulous - an absolutely incredible experience - would recommend it! After all, it is the way that Jesus did it, eh!!? Yey for dunking!!

Car's gone in for repairs today, so will hopefully be back by the w/e as DH and I are going away. Doesn't matter if it isn't though cos the garage have kindly lent us a car for the time being. It is an absolute crapheap, but it does the job - AND it has remote locking, which is halarious!! Everyone hears the pips of remote locking and looks round for the swanky wagon and sees our poor little crapheap blinking away ...... Hee! Hee!

Ooooooh yes, DH and I ACTUALLY WENT OUT last night. We went to an NCT Quiz night (that I had helped organised) It was lots of fun and we ate lots of yummy pizza and breads and things from their new menu. We raised £300 for the charity and DH and I won TWO of the prizes!!! We won a facial (for me, of course! ) and a lovely gift wrapped bottle of wine (that can go in the "Christmas presents" box - Hee! Hee! ) So a lovely evening. Just written the Press Release and sent it off to local newspapers, feeling vaguely organised today!!!?

Poor little DD1 - we've worked out what is wrong with her - saw wax all round her ear this morning, gave it a little clean with a cotton bud and loads of pus poured down her face!!!!! Perforated eardrum, poor wee mite. She seems ok in herself and wanted to go to nursery, so we've made a drs appointment for later this a/n so we can all go together. Hope they can sort it. Bless her cotton socks!! Lots of prayers for her - kind of relieved I've worked out what is wrong, but feel bad I didn't spot it before!

Gosh - long post - need to go and get dressed and get to work!!

Love, [[hugs] and Prayers to all. xxxx

CaptainCavemansMummy · 17/10/2006 14:55

Hi 3monkeys (love you moniker!)

GREAT NEWS!!! I just found out that I got a 3rd distinction for my post grad course - and the highest mark in the cohort!!! I am so proud of what I have achieved that I wanted to share it with you, and praise the Lord for blessing me to be able to achieve it!! THANK YOU LORD.

longwaytogo · 17/10/2006 16:11

Spent a few hours at A&E this pm with dd 1 was there on fri and Sat because she fell and hurt her thumb (not broken) Had phone call today to say that she hurt her ankle - she cried all the way to hospital, all the time we were there, etc etc. It's not broken but have put cotton and crepe on it and say complete rest. But no crutches so how is she going to get round? Nurse says they like them to start exercising it but surely cruthes would mean they could put a little weight on it gradually rather than hobbling on it. But hey what do I know.

She says she going to school tomorrow, but how i'm not so sure as she can't put it down.

Sorry long rant, but just fed up of taking her to A&E or consultant appointments atm.

CaptainDippy · 17/10/2006 18:06

Hi 3monkeys!! Good to have you with us! Welcome on board!!
