Hello there!!

"Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and the love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God - never doubt that these women can change the world"

Need I say more (thanks for that quote MaryBS!)

Well, here's a summary of July's requests - Do update if you can!!

MaryBS - Prayers for her mum coming to terms with her vocation. Been having vivid dreams and would like for them to stop (have they?) DH's nephew was adopted at the age of 3 and is now exhibiting some bad behavioural problems, mum and dad asking about "giving him back" etc. Very difficult situation. Prayers for study etc as she undertakes the course to become a Reader at church. Difficult situation regarding the church hall needs to be resolved. DD has a class mate who keeps hitting her etc, MaryBS unsure of how to handle the situation. Lots of prayers for non-Chiristian DH as he becomes more involved in church life (YEY! ) Prayers for situation between Vicar and a member of choir and finally prayers for a friend who has been meeting with Social Workers re: possibly adopting today! Pudmog - Feeling nauseous still (16 weeks PG, due on Jan 17th) and has chest infection. Has been struggling to control DS' asthma and has been really, really struggling with church (one couple in particular making it very hard.) Continuing prayers for the situation regarding racist accusations levelled at her children's school.

Twiga - DH's Uncle has Oesophogeal cancer and is very, very ill.

harrisey - Has found somewhere to live when her and her family move to Glasgow to attend Bible College in Sept. Praise God!!

longwaytogo - Ongoing prayers for her DD's health problems, especially for her as she attends Allergy Clinic on Aug 31st Prayers too for her nan and grandad who were involved in a car accident; although they were not seriously hurt, they are battered and bruised and coming to terms with the shock of it all. Lots of prayers for her friend who is going to adopt a little boy - they are meeting up for the 1st time very soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - DH had another operation on July 5th - Is going to be discharged from the army very soon, lots of prayers for them as a family - finding new job, home etc etc.

Nanou1 - DH didn't get job in the end. Feeling very and right now - lots of prayers needed for reassurance and acceptance - and for another to job to come up very soon!! How did DD do in France Nanou1 btw??

TigerT - DD had to have another op on her head on July 6th as wound was becoming infected - praying that her little DD is ok, the infection is gone and she is on the road to recovery.

footprint - Struggling with depression and anxiety - has been doing better and was last seen going off on her hols with her family! How are you doing honey??

katzg - Didn't get job , but is feeling positive and praying hard that another job opportunity will come up soon as her contract on her current job runs out on Aug 31st. Also prayers for her DD who is under Consultant care for the skin condition Cutaneous Mastocytosis.

PandaG - Currently off on lots of hols - so praying she is having a lovely time! Her youth leader who had cancer died and the service was a beautiful tribute to her.

CatJ - DD4 is still in hospital and is improving, but she is going to require lots of ongoing prayers as she is going to spend quite a bit of time in hospital over the coming weeks / months etc .... Lots of prayers for all the LO's that DD4 is in hospital with.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - DS2's excema is very bad and keeping them all up at night - Prayers for sleep in that household!!

puddingz - Prayers for the family of a little boy (8 yrs) who was tragically killed in a Hit and Run incident.

naerlythree - Prayers for baby DS who has been very poorly.

Glad to see things on the up for so many. Twiga good to see you and so sorry you've had such a difficult time recently.

panda G hope you have a wonderful evening.

Things not bad here apart from whingy three yr old and defiant 2 yr old, who are into throwing, hitting, generally playing up.

Have achieved loads in the garden today, dug up bush/plant things, bashed up some big pieces of earth to try and make more level ready for turf, trimmed hedge, talked to a neighbour (first time since we moved here) she has 2 lo's with 13 months between as well.

Not done a thing in the house mind you (oh yes I did I polished the living room this morning)

Anyway as for the sermon based it on Mt.11:28 in the end and encorporated Mark 6:30-34 and Psalm 46.

Right better go stop kids killing each other.

Nanou1 · 08/08/2006 16:13

hi LGTG. can't stay but nice to hear from you; esp chat chat with neighbour . i love gardening! am not good but love it! best be off x

MaryBS · 09/08/2006 05:43

Twiga - praying for you and yours, as you come to terms with the loss of your DH's uncle. Praying for your DH's cousin too, as she starts married life. Also praying for your DH's exam situation - although, like you say, the extra time should come in useful.

LWTG - glad you got your sermon sorted, must be a relief! And you found time to do your garden as well!

PandaG - hope you two had a good anniversary and night out.

Pray for me, I've got my mother staying at the moment, and having already broken the 5th commandment several times I'm ready to break another one and murder her! . I should be grateful for all the help she's giving me (well I am really)

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 08:50

LWTG - praying re upset tummy, hope you have a good day anyway

We did have a lovely meal last night, DH had chosen the restaurant well, although there were no other patrons in it - think it hasn't been open long to build up a reputation.

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2006 13:18

Only a quick one as the DD's are probably killing one another downstairs - need to go to park now!!

Glad you achieved a lot yesterday lwtg - sorry about DS being a bit poorly today though - feels like they are constantly poorly sometimes, doesn't it!!? Hope you managed to have a nice day anyway and he feels better soon, poor thing! [hugs]

I have "issues" with my mother too MaryBS (I also call her "mother"! ) Hoping the stay has been ok and that she has been more of a help than anything else, iykwim!!? How is today going??

LOL @ knife comment Nanou1 - There's been some seriously tempting moments with my mother, I can tell you!!

Glad you had a nice meal out with your DH PandaG!

Keep praying.... ... I have to control it, its her birthday today.

She IS being very helpful, she looks after them while I go to work. But if I get one more "if he was mine he'd have a sore bottom by now" or incessantly prattling about things which I have no interest in, and about which I tune out after about 20 mins, then she complains I'm not listening. Or if she disturbs my concentration when I'm doing something and gets humpy because I'm not listening or or or

Yes I suppose I should listen, but it gets a bit much after a week and a half!

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 16:36

deep breath deep breath deep breath deep breath

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 16:38

MaryBS... it would drive me utterly nuts... dont know how you do it.... gggrhhhh

MaryBS · 09/08/2006 16:48

Then she acts all hurt and makes me feel bad for snapping at her

... and does anybody else think its a waste of time going to morning prayer in church if you're the only one doing it, because it should be 'where 2 or more are gathered...'

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 16:53

MaryBS - you have had one of those days haven't you? Have a drink ... and make it a stiff one!!!!!

MaryBS · 09/08/2006 17:21

Its a bit early for drinking

Did I tell you, when she was last here, she thought the vicar had 'persuaded' me to go for reader training? Like I can't have a calling?

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 17:48

desesparate situations require desesparate measures yep... could believe it... deep breath deep breath...

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2006 18:01

You two make me

How's it going honey?

She sounds like a pita, imho!!

When's she leaving?

Must be nice to be able to come here and vent though - vent away, my dear!!

I am tired and getting to the end of my tether today - be glad when the girls are safely tucked up in bed (safe from me!! )

Sounds like MP needs a bit of an advertising push, Mary - Keep going, your loyalty and patience will bear fruit, imho!! (I'd come along if I lived any nearer!! )

Gotta go help DH!!

MaryBS · 09/08/2006 18:20

She's been doing my washing and ironing though, so there ARE some benefits! She's here till next Friday 18th, when we go on holiday. Although she's talking of going back home Sat evening with my sister so she can go to mass at her church on Sunday (which is what she did last week), but that DOES mean we have to go pick her up, so its a 2 hour round trip.

Last week I was texting M. asking for absolution . He takes the mick out of me when my mother winds me up - makes me laugh.

I think part of the trouble with MP is the time its at: 8:30-9am. No good if you've got children or go to work. I'll have to work on M. Or maybe institute evening prayer.

Xavielli · 09/08/2006 18:22

Hey Ladies!

Thankyou SOOOO much for your prayers! Last 2 days I have been absolutely full of life, joy and prayer! Even managed to have a really nice lunch date with DP's sister (see below) and have really enjoyed doing a full clearout of certain rooms today (DP brother moving in on saturday) I think I do alot better when there is lots to do! I also think I have faced alot of things too as I haven't been hiding on here!
PRAISE GOD [bounce][bounce]

I am glad that I can't emapthise with you and your mother, mine had always been wonderful! It must be soo soo hard for you! Praying that God enlightens her to your calling.

Prayers all round!

CaptainDippy · 09/08/2006 18:41

Sooooooo pleased you are [bouncing] Xavielli! Good news!

We get on fine most of the time. We talk on the phone nearly every day. Its only when she comes to stay we tend to fall out

Never mind, life seems a whole lot better after opening a bottle of 1998 Beaune Premier Cru, that DH and I brought back from France 4 years ago! I cooked her a meal for her birthday, steak, new pots, mushrooms, onion rings and cauliflower cheese, followed by creme brulee. She's mellowed too

My DBro and SIL met their children today!!! YAY! They called them mummy and daddy!!!!!

Pudmog · 10/08/2006 08:33

Can we all pray for Yorkiegirl- see thread about her. ( can't do links)
Shockingly her husband has died suddenly/unexpectedly on holiday in Portugal. She has 2 dd's.

Xavielli · 10/08/2006 08:37

Keep him close to you Lord.

CaptainDippy · 10/08/2006 09:39

How completely awful. I am just beyond words. I have tears in my eyes. Loosing your husband. I just can't imagine it. Oh poor Yorkiegirl and her DD's. I sent a swap package for her once. Oh gosh. Must go and hang the washing up and pray for them all lots. Thank you for leading us to pray for this tragic situation Pudmog and for the link Xavielli. xxxx
