Hello there!!

"Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and the love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God - never doubt that these women can change the world"

Need I say more (thanks for that quote MaryBS!)

Well, here's a summary of July's requests - Do update if you can!!

MaryBS - Prayers for her mum coming to terms with her vocation. Been having vivid dreams and would like for them to stop (have they?) DH's nephew was adopted at the age of 3 and is now exhibiting some bad behavioural problems, mum and dad asking about "giving him back" etc. Very difficult situation. Prayers for study etc as she undertakes the course to become a Reader at church. Difficult situation regarding the church hall needs to be resolved. DD has a class mate who keeps hitting her etc, MaryBS unsure of how to handle the situation. Lots of prayers for non-Chiristian DH as he becomes more involved in church life (YEY! ) Prayers for situation between Vicar and a member of choir and finally prayers for a friend who has been meeting with Social Workers re: possibly adopting today! Pudmog - Feeling nauseous still (16 weeks PG, due on Jan 17th) and has chest infection. Has been struggling to control DS' asthma and has been really, really struggling with church (one couple in particular making it very hard.) Continuing prayers for the situation regarding racist accusations levelled at her children's school.

Twiga - DH's Uncle has Oesophogeal cancer and is very, very ill.

harrisey - Has found somewhere to live when her and her family move to Glasgow to attend Bible College in Sept. Praise God!!

Xavielli - Dad is home from hospital and is doing well. Lots of prayers for her sister who has had to have an abortion following the discovery that her unborn baby had Edward's Syndrome. Prayers as they cope with this loss.

longwaytogo - Ongoing prayers for her DD's health problems, especially for her as she attends Allergy Clinic on Aug 31st Prayers too for her nan and grandad who were involved in a car accident; although they were not seriously hurt, they are battered and bruised and coming to terms with the shock of it all. Lots of prayers for her friend who is going to adopt a little boy - they are meeting up for the 1st time very soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - DH had another operation on July 5th - Is going to be discharged from the army very soon, lots of prayers for them as a family - finding new job, home etc etc.

Nanou1 - DH didn't get job in the end. Feeling very and right now - lots of prayers needed for reassurance and acceptance - and for another to job to come up very soon!! How did DD do in France Nanou1 btw??

TigerT - DD had to have another op on her head on July 6th as wound was becoming infected - praying that her little DD is ok, the infection is gone and she is on the road to recovery.

footprint - Struggling with depression and anxiety - has been doing better and was last seen going off on her hols with her family! How are you doing honey??

katzg - Didn't get job , but is feeling positive and praying hard that another job opportunity will come up soon as her contract on her current job runs out on Aug 31st. Also prayers for her DD who is under Consultant care for the skin condition Cutaneous Mastocytosis.

PandaG - Currently off on lots of hols - so praying she is having a lovely time! Her youth leader who had cancer died and the service was a beautiful tribute to her.

CatJ - DD4 is still in hospital and is improving, but she is going to require lots of ongoing prayers as she is going to spend quite a bit of time in hospital over the coming weeks / months etc .... Lots of prayers for all the LO's that DD4 is in hospital with.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - DS2's excema is very bad and keeping them all up at night - Prayers for sleep in that household!!

naerlythree - Prayers for baby DS who has been very poorly.

CaptainDippy - As ever, ongoing prayers for job situation (hers and DH's), house situation and driving lessons (going well btw ) Prayers for friends who are struggling with new baby DS and for friends who are coming to terms with the fact that they will never grow old together as DH has diagnosed with terminal cancer. I think that is all for me - for now!

Welcome Back PandaG!! Wow - that went quickly!! Glad you had a lovely time away - and wahooo! to your children making professions of Faith - a definite step in the right direction - even if you have "brainwashed" them ( ) you have given them a solid foundation on which to grow - I admire you so much! You are soooooo lovely - doing all those meals for people having babies! Most of my friends having babies live too far away to make meals. Hope you have a productive week honey! hugs]

Hello everyone! Back from a fabulous week in Wales. As we drove back into Bristol my heart sank and by Sunday I was so angry in church as I realised we had a week completely free from difficult people and church meetings- back to reality now.

Wales was wonderful- the children spent most of the week romping in the fieds next to our cottage, and playing in the stream (especially ds). I am gradually wading through all the washing!!

Love to you all and as ever continue to pray- took a list on hols with me!!

MarsLady · 07/08/2006 13:39

Don't forget to pray for MN and the team as they get through this difficult time with certain 'experts'. And sign the petition as well. Faith and action!

MarsLady · 07/08/2006 13:40

the petition

Xavielli · 07/08/2006 21:21

Thanks guys Feel MUCH better today! Finally! One of my mates came to see me and gave me a birthday prezzie. Went to see MIL and she cut Xavi's hair. Had a really good chat even tho the kids were there and playing up.

God is good! Think he was telling me to get off my round one and go do something!

longwaytogo · 07/08/2006 21:47

oh xavielli so glad you've had a good day, totally agree about gettin off round one a doing something, I sit here and think that the people I know don't really like me, bother with me when I know that they are all out together and texting each other constantly, but I know if i texted them then I could join in their games too. I need to get off my round one and see what happens.

On a positive note Sermon is written (hallelujah) just the meeting plan to do now, choose some songs and the like. Thanks for all your prayers I know they have made a difference, when I sat down at 8p.m I really didn't think I would get it finished, wasn't in teh mood but hey its done, just need to read it through again and prob make some minor adjustments. Somebody must have been praying for me this evening - Thanks guys

MaryBS · 07/08/2006 21:56

Xavielli - thats good to hear

Pudmog - glad you had a good holiday. I know its hard coming back down to earth with a bump, but hopefully the holiday will have given you strength to persevere. Good news about your little ones!

I'll continue to pray for you both. As I'm 'in charge' tomorrow at MP, I'll pray for everyone here - do you think it'll count for more, that I'm doing it in church?

Nanou1 - I'm another one for 'quality over quantity' re: friends

Nanou1 · 08/08/2006 08:40

Hi all, sorry it's been so long, we were away most of July and things have been a bit mad. Might hav to come and type more later as really need to give dd breakfast but will try and up-date you a bit in net couple of mins.

The last few weeks have been very up and down for us. Dh's uncle died on the 16th which although not unexpected was sooner than we thought. The funeral on the 18th was attended by over 500 people and was an exhausting experience. He was a good Christian man so like with Grandpa we have no worries but still feel very sad - this uncle was dh's inspiration for becoming a dr and training to do surgery. His daughter tried to pull wedding arrangements fwd but due to recent change in law special licences now take 14 days instead of 3 so she was married exactly a week after her dads funeral with just that generation plus siblings in attendence. Her dad had settled all the arrangements before he died ie who was going to give her away etc, which is typical of his kind and thoughtful personality. There will be a blessing of the marriage and reception in Oct on the date they'd fixed. Anyway will stop there before I get too tearful.

We had a bit of a disapointment with dh's dates for re-doing his exams in that he missed the deadline for the oct set and will now have to wait for feb. Given the current mess of the nhs as they try to bring in new training systems this adds more uncertainty job/location wise for the future - dh part of the cohort following the old scheme. In a funny way though I think it's been a blessing as this way dh has more time to study and our 2 recent bereavments will be more distant for him and so his head will be clearer. We know our future is in God's hands so in reality the uncertainty isn't a prob but as a mere human I worry!

We spent some time at the Keswick convention after returning from the funeral in Belfast. It was just what we needed - time with old friends and some spiritual refreshment.

Right must dash but will try and read through the old thread and this one when dd is sleeping later, so I can get back to praying for you all.

Nanou1 · 08/08/2006 09:22

oh twiga.... so for you and dh... but welcome back. it's been ages. oops boss on his way... see you later x

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2006 10:49

Hi Twiga!

Good to have you back with us! Glad that you have been able to "get away from it all" and have some good times and spiritual refreshment in the midst of so much hecticness and sadness.

I am so sorry to hear about DH's Uncle - especially sad for the daughter who tried so hard to have him at her Wedding (on the verge of crying.) Must have been a very strange day for them both - a mixture of happiness and sadness - Pleased they are going to have their Blessing and Party in October as well though - I am sure that is what her dad would have wanted - He sounds like an amazing and inspirational man!

Bugger to DH having to wait longer to retake the exams as well! ... but as you said, probably a good thing in light of all the stuff you've been going through recently - more time for him to get his head down and study properly!

Great to have you back! How's DD?

Hi Nanou1 - LOL and you and your "lurking" boss!

reading twiga reminded me of my own wedding day. won't go into the long story but was brought up by grandparents til dad remarried to wicked witch when i was about to become 11. was extremely close to my grandpa who died 3 months before I got married. The strangest thing is that I felt he was there all day ? have I told you that before?! ? and when we got the photos there was an empty space by me which was very odd because we were about 200 people trying to squeeze in a group photo. And I will always remember dh saying ?look! How spooky! You said you could feel your grandfather was there and he was!!! Still, it would have been so much better if he?d been there for real?

CaptainDippy · 08/08/2006 14:05

How about your grandpa Nanou1 - I am sorry that he couldn't make it to your Wedding honey; but I am glad "he was there", iykwim!!?

Hello all

Good to 'see' you Twiga, sorry to hear of your loss, will pray for you and your whole family.

Glad to hear you had a better day Xavielli, will continue to pray.

CD - sorry to hear about the biting, DS went through a stage of that, makes you feel dreadful doesn't it? He did grow out of it fairly quickly, praying that it is a one off incident for you.

well I've spent far too long following current events on MN, but have at least cleaned the kitchen. DH is taking me out tonight for our wedding anniversary 13 years today!
