Hello there!!

"Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and the love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God - never doubt that these women can change the world"

Wedding was lovely yesterday and nice to have a break from the DD's. Off out this morning to help clear up the house of an elderly gentleman from church then off out for a picnic and play with the DD's and DH. Hope you are all having wonderful weekends and if you can tell me where to get popper vests that would fit a big 2 and 1/2 yr old, that would be great!!

TooTicky you've piqued my curiosity now. Would/Could you tell us your beliefs?

catj · 29/07/2006 08:32

Hello all. I'm afraid things aren't looking good for my dd4. Please let her be looked after whatever the outcome and help her sisters (11,3 & 3) cope with things. Dh is finding it very hard too. Thanks again. Cat

MaryBS · 29/07/2006 18:59

catj, I am so sorry to hear your news. I am praying for you and your family. God bless and take care of you all.

MaryBS · 29/07/2006 18:59

I just want to say thanks to God that this wasn't worse:

Robbie wanted to make some 'pretty red circles', so he turned all the rings on, on the cooker. Fortunately the only thing damaged was a tea-towel which caught fire, which I dropped in the sink and put the tap on, and a VERY melted chopping board. That was TOO close for comfort. He KNOWS he shouldn't touch the cooker, he's NEVER done it before, and please God, never will again!

CaptainDippy · 29/07/2006 19:15

at your little man MaryBS!! Good grief!! It's just an experimental thing at his age though (I remember setting fire to the pinboard in our kitchen when I was about 6 - God looked after us then as well!) - Praise God it wasn't worse though - Phew!

So sorry that things are not good with your little DD4 Cat - Praying for her and for you and all your family. May God be so close to you at this time. [hugs]]

It's been has reasonable day in the Dippy Household, apart from DH losing his Wedding Ring on the beach. Please pray it turns up - he is down there with a metal detector right now, bless him!! Thank you!

MaryBS · 30/07/2006 18:03

Congrats Xavielli!!!! So what is the ring like then? How did he ask you? Was it in a romantic setting????

I have some news too - I preach my first sermon 1 October . Gives me lots of time to prepare, but it REALLY brings it all home . My second will be 24 December. That one I'm looking forward to more, because its all about John the Baptist leaping in the womb for joy, and I think I can talk about leaping in the womb!

Xavielli · 30/07/2006 18:20

Wow! They have thrown you into Preaching really quick there! Praise God!

My ring is white gold white kind of crosses in a small lattice effect and where they join there is 2 small rubies and one diamond in the middle! It is beautiful.

It was romantic for me! I doubt anyone else would think so but hey... here goes....
We had spoken about when he would do it and he said Sunday.. and I guessed right that he wanted to do it at church... I said please don't as I would find it too embarrassing! lol So I was getting Elli's bottles ready when I turned around and nearly fell over him! lol He said "Will you marry me, my angel" and I said "Oooh, I don't know about that" teehee and then smooched him and said "Yes".

I have always said I don't care when or how or with what ring... and this, I have to say, was my perfect idea of it. Me and DP kissing afterwards with Xavi trying to get in on the action! Thank the Lord for my DP!

We had a guest speaker at church today who was teaching about holiness and therein the value of marriage! God is omniscient and inspirational as ever!! Praise God!

Xavielli · 30/07/2006 18:22

I love the idea of John the Baptist leaping for joy in the womb! My MIL always says when a newborn baby gets a 'windy' smile, that they are talking with Jesus!

MaryBS · 30/07/2006 18:57

Awww!!! I like the "my angel" bit. The ring sounds lovely too!

As for the preaching, yes it does seem a bit soon! Its the advice given in the documentation from the diocese, so long as its not more than once every 2 months in my first year. However, talking to another reader in training from another diocese, she has just started her second year, and she is preaching or leading worship virtually every week - which REALLY surprised me!

I don't know if I DARE tell my mother, she thinks its all a bit rushed as it is!

I need to check what I am preaching on 1 October, can't recall what it is, offhand. Please pray for inspiration for me, anyhow! And if anyone can recommend any internet resources...

CaptainDippy · 30/07/2006 18:57

Congratulations Xavielli! Awwww, your proposal was romantic - My DH proposed to me in the middle of a puddle in a carpark in Bognor Regis - and it was beautiful!! The ring sounds gorgeous! I am glad you haven't got a solitaire diamond, tbh, I'm sick of seeing 'em (no offense to anyone who has got one, it's just everyone seems to nowadays and it's not that exciting to see anymore iykwim??) ANYway - hugest congratulations - HURRAH!!

Wow! - Quick going with the sermon stuff MaryBS - will be praying as you prepare and I'm sure you'll rmeind us nearer the time too!!

Off to see family pics we had done a while ago tonight - hope there's at least one worth having ........

Bought DH a temp silver ring today, bless him - Put an order in to have another one made.

Best go ......... Love and Prayers to all .......

Sorry for mistakes, not time to check!!

Hi - just wanted to post to ask for more prayers for Cat's dd4. She really needs them at the moment. Keep fighting sweetheart.

Xavielli · 30/07/2006 21:17

Lord, you are good. You are merciful and just. You are the alpha and the Omega, there is no one like you Lord. We come together tonight in prayer to give you thanks and praise for the life of Catj's DD4 and to ask you for healing. As is said in Isaih 53:5 "The chastisment for our peace was upon him, And by his stripes we are healed" we, as a fellowship acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and execpt the gift to which this makes us entitle, By his striped this precious baby is healed in Jesus name! You tell us through Mark 11:24 "Whatever things you ask for in prayer, believe that you recieve them and you shall have them" We have faith in you Lord, we recieve this healing for DD4 and we believe it is done! Thankyou father. Amen!

God is Good!

MaryBS · 30/07/2006 21:29

Praying hard here, for Cats DD. Lord you are merciful and we glorify Your name. Please spare this child. Your will be done. Amen.

CaptainDippy · 30/07/2006 22:25

Lord hold this little treasure close to your heart. Surround her with your love and with your healing power. Fill her family with the strength they need to join her in her fight. Her fight to live. Lord Bless her and Bless her family. xxxx

MaryBS you feeling any better? i don't know how you do it?! do you always have broken sleep? i admire you - where do you get your energy from with your studying, family etc?
will catch up with everybody a bit later as today looks very busy already. have a good day all
great news xavielli - many congratulations

Nanou1 · 31/07/2006 09:46

Cats dd4 - you are all in my prayers. x

Nanou1 · 31/07/2006 10:06

Marybs. how is your nephew? saw my cousin's kids last week and they are extremely affected by their parents' divorce. so . talked a lot with my cousin about the children and their feelings and how they coped / did not cope. i hate to see children in pain. made me think of your nephew. praying things are better there.

Xavielli · 31/07/2006 11:12

My lovely ring!

MaryBS · 31/07/2006 12:23

Nanou1 - I haven't heard any more about DH's nephew. Last time I spoke to DH's parents, they hadn't heard anything for about a week. DH's sister seemed to have cut herself off for a bit. I think we'd have heard if anything significant had happened. Please keep praying though, its such a difficult situation. Maybe his not being at school will make a difference, with who he mixes with.

As for my energy... I've been living with broken sleep for a while now. Sometimes I just go to bed early, sometimes I take a herbal tablet to help me sleep. However, what has made a HUGE difference is conquering my depression (praise the Lord!), or as I prefer to see it, being healed - as its only since I felt 'called' that I've felt like this, so alive.

Nanou1 · 31/07/2006 12:34

Hi MaryBS. nice to hear from you. Shall keep praying for your nephew. i don't like the word depression - healing is far more powerful. praise the Lord! did you have severe depression then?! i sense pain in your "voice" when you talk about it? dont' mean to intrude...

MaryBS · 31/07/2006 12:46

Nanou1 - thank God, there's not a lot of hurt left in me - just enough to remind me of how far I've come since then. I've taken a few knocks in life, and struggled to cope with them, getting very depressed at times. Now I choose not to be a victim and choose life! Its made a HUGE difference knowing that God has forgiven me AND I have forgiven myself for the mistakes I've made.
