Hello there!!

"Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and the love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God - never doubt that these women can change the world"

Need I say more (thanks for that quote MaryBS!)

Well, here's a summary of July's requests - Do update if you can!!

MaryBS - Prayers for her mum coming to terms with her vocation. Been having vivid dreams and would like for them to stop (have they?) DH's nephew was adopted at the age of 3 and is now exhibiting some bad behavioural problems, mum and dad asking about "giving him back" etc. Very difficult situation. Prayers for study etc as she undertakes the course to become a Reader at church. Difficult situation regarding the church hall needs to be resolved. DD has a class mate who keeps hitting her etc, MaryBS unsure of how to handle the situation. Lots of prayers for non-Chiristian DH as he becomes more involved in church life (YEY! ) Prayers for situation between Vicar and a member of choir and finally prayers for a friend who has been meeting with Social Workers re: possibly adopting today! Pudmog - Feeling nauseous still (16 weeks PG, due on Jan 17th) and has chest infection. longwaytogo - Ongoing prayers for her DD's health problems, especially for her as she attends Allergy Clinic on Aug 31st Prayers too for her nan and grandad who were involved in a car accident; although they were not seriously hurt, they are battered and bruised and coming to terms with the shock of it all. Lots of prayers for her friend who is going to adopt a little boy - they are meeting up for the 1st time very soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - DH had another operation on July 5th - Is going to be discharged from the army very soon, lots of prayers for them as a family - finding new job, home etc etc.

Nanou1 - DH didn't get job in the end. Feeling very and right now - lots of prayers needed for reassurance and acceptance - and for another to job to come up very soon!! How did DD do in France Nanou1 btw??

TigerT - DD had to have another op on her head on July 6th as wound was becoming infected - praying that her little DD is ok, the infection is gone and she is on the road to recovery.

footprint - Struggling with depression and anxiety - has been doing better and was last seen going off on her hols with her family! How are you doing honey??

katzg - Didn't get job , but is feeling positive and praying hard that another job opportunity will come up soon as her contract on her current job runs out on Aug 31st. Also prayers for her DD who is under Consultant care for the skin condition Cutaneous Mastocytosis.

PandaG - Currently off on lots of hols - so praying she is having a lovely time! Her youth leader who had cancer died and the service was a beautiful tribute to her.

CatJ - DD4 is still in hospital and is improving, but she is going to require lots of ongoing prayers as she is going to spend quite a bit of time in hospital over the coming weeks / months etc .... Lots of prayers for all the LO's that DD4 is in hospital with.

Mary and Longway, great points about prayer.

Yorkiegirl, we continue to pray for you and your family, please let us know if there are any specific things we can pray for, or anything else we can do to support you at this time.

Xavielli, will pray for your friend's mum.

Darling baby girl is lovely, and the image of her big brother. Hoping to go and see her again very soon!

CaptainDippy · 15/08/2006 10:33

Morning all!!

Finally found a moment for catch up and post now the girls are having a rest.....

Will pray for your friend's mum Xavielli - Like MaryBS said, sooooo much to pray for atm, which is in a lot of ways, but thank goodness God's shoulders are big enough for all of us, eh!!?

"Cast your burdens onto Jesus because He cares for you ......"

Superb!

I really hope you have a lovely trip to the Safari Park today lwtg - despite the hoards of children!! Praying the weather will be nice and everyone will be reasonably well behaved - espcially you, young lady!

Hey - give my soap box back, Mary - you cheeky monkey!! Great points about prayer Mary and PandaG - I often pray those ... "Argh, I just don't know where to begin, take it from my heart directly Lord!!" prayers!!

Lurk away, Allie - you are a very welcome stalker - Watch out though - stay here and the Bible Bashers might get you!!!!

DD1 still hasn't entirely recovered from her CakeFest - getting there though - much better night last night!! No news from my friend - she went in to be induced last night at 7pm, so could be a few days yet. Hoping to get an opportunity to go and visit her a bit later. I'll update when I know more - of you getting to schnug your friends little bean PandaG - can't wait for my turn - needing some newborn schnuggles atm!!

Could you please pray for the Eastbourne and District branch of the NCT?? We're having a Teddy Bear's Picnic and a Balloon launch on Sat (19th) - only just managed to secure balloons and helium () so not much time to sell some and our committee aren't, erm, the most "committed" bunch - I don't think selling 10 balloons each is unreasonable, do you?? Well apparentely, it is!! Anyway, praying for decent weather, a decent turn out and for these bloomin' balloons to be sold asap!! Don't supposed any of you wanna buy a balloon do you?? 1st prize is a meal out for two here in Eastbourne!!

I wanted to do a separate post for you, YorkieGirl - Thank you for visiting us!

Like Mary said - you are an inspiration to us all. I am so sorry for your tragic loss and I thank God for Nigel and the beautiful life that he was able to share with you and your daughters. Cherish the precious memories that you have and let your children pull you through this time. May God carry you through these tough, confusing and devestating times. May God carry you through the storm and into the beautiful peaceful calm that lies beyond these impossible times. Cling to your Faith and trust that there will be a time when the pain is less keen and when you can smile at the wonderful memories that will remain with you always.

We are all thinking of you and praying for you here on this thread - visit whenever you want - shout, scream, cry, laugh - we are all here to listen and offer you up to God in prayer and love. If there is anything we can do to help, please, please let us know. [hugs]] xxxx

Am still around and praying, I have to admit I often find my faith is the rock that I cling to in times of trouble.

Hello all!!

CaptainDippy - I understand entirely with the NCT Committee, am a recovering ex committee member at present I ran our local NNS for the last 4 years and am now enjoying the time off, though am still bopping along to the odd committee meeting. I used to ask the various members to put up 10 posters near where they lived and went to work/school/nursery and this was expecting too much twice a year....

Twiga · 15/08/2006 20:01

Yorkiegirl, you and the girls have been on my mind constantly recently - every time I look at the bouncer hanging from the living room door . Wee Phoebe and I have been praying for you all at bedtime. Wanted to let you know that we're thinking of you and again that we're so sorry. God bless you x x x

Twiga · 15/08/2006 20:05

Need to read back down the thread and catch up, hope everyone is doing ok. Am having the best week ever, it's our holiday club week at church and it's been just fab so far. We've had 70-80 kids each day and it's all go from the min the first arrive. Please pray for our team this week, that we would show God's love to the kids, be clear and faithful in our teaching and that we would survive to the end of the week - pretty shattered already.

MaryBS · 15/08/2006 20:42

Fantastic Twiga! Wish there was something like that here!

Think of me, took my mum to Mass tonight at the Catholic church, and stayed with her. First time I'd been to mass in a looong time, and of course, I'm not 'allowed' to receive communion (out of respect for my mother, I didn't). Felt a bit left out TBH. I went up for a blessing.

MaryBS · 15/08/2006 21:44

Any news on Catj's baby btw? Still praying for her...

If I sounded a bit down on the last post, I would just like to add that if I hadn't been kicked out of the Catholic church, I wouldn't be training to be a reader, and wouldn't be going to services conducted by M., which are 100 times better because of the amount of feeling and effort he puts into it!

CaptainDippy · 15/08/2006 22:25

Hello!

Quick post before bed!

My friend had her baby!! She had a little girl (no name yet), born at 3.46am this morning - Had 1st lot of gel at 9pm and little girl was born on the ward - no time to get her over to delivery!!!!!! Well as you can see I'm up and about at some unearthly hour - ds decided to get up @ 5.30 and grizzle.

Sooo tired went out with girls from work last night to one of the girls houses which was good. But one of the girls that I really like and talks a lot of sense is into tarot cards. Felt so uneasy, was praying they wouldn't be there when she opened her bag but they were. Did a few girls cards, just didn't know what to say or do so just thought silence was the best way to go especially seems I'm the new girl anyway.

Safari park was good yesterday - monkeys thought my back windscreen wiper was a good seat, once they'd pulled it out of course.

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2006 08:24

It is so difficult to know what to do or say in those situations, lwtg - I have every sympathy for you honey. I think I might have walked out - anything to do with the Occult scares me stupid. Praying for your friend, espcecially for protection. I hope you had a nice time out despite the card reading. xx Glad you enjoyed the Safari Park - I've always wanted to go to one, I'll wait til the DD's are a bit older and give it a go!!

All ok in DippyLand, more sickness this morning - or is it my imagination - or all the food I stuffed last night, yum!!? - Love and Prayers to all. xxxx

longwaytogo · 16/08/2006 08:47

ohhhh cd its looking like a maybe unless its the same bug your dd had the other day!

Well I have no washing machine or dishwasher today - came home last night to contents of dishwasher and washing machine over the kitchen floor. In the process of trying to find blockage dh has managed to snap the pipe work so will have to replace this evening.

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2006 09:00

Hope it gets fixed soon! In the meantime, you'll have to coerce your LO's into doing some washing up ("It's really fun, really it is!!") and get the old scrubbing board out .... Hee! Hee! Treat your LO's to a "Victorian Nostalgia Day"

katzg · 16/08/2006 11:06

katzg · 16/08/2006 15:58

can you all pray for my PG friend she's just gone over her due date and is a bit fed up, plus i want to meet my future godchild!

PandaG · 16/08/2006 16:19

Hello all

Longway - sounds like you have got a lot on your plate right now. Praying for your daughter, and for y our relationship with your work colleages. So difficult to know what to do in those circumstances, wanting to be salt and light, but wanting to build relationships so you can be taken seriously, so people know you and respect you. That is how I feel anyway.

KAtz - glad to hear job looks hopeful - will pray for that and said friend's pregnancy.

Mary - glad you could go to mass with your Mum, even if it was hard for you. Praying that you will cope with the rest of her visit.

CD - great that the baby has arrived safely, I should have been taking my 2 to visit my friend's daughter today, but I'm feeling a bit low - bit of a tummy bug I think, so won't go to pass it on.

Now who have I forgotten this time?

Love to you allxx

Xavielli · 16/08/2006 18:57

Glad everyone is doing ok. Things are ok here... Eliana had her jabs today and is doing fine.

Please could you pray for me... period pains are really hurting at the moment... only the second visit since Elli was born so still painful!

Thanks! God bless!
