nickel how are you doing? Thinking of you a lot at the moment...

Tuo · 06/06/2013 23:26

HELP! I have accidentally hidden the prayer thread, and I can't work out how to get it back - does anyone know? In the meantime, sorry for ignoring everyone.

Jaynebxl · 07/06/2013 05:31

I hadn't realised there was a prayer thread so I went to look but couldn't see it. Confused

Dutchoma · 07/06/2013 09:33

does this help?

niminypiminy · 07/06/2013 12:11

Beginning to feel really nervous about the BAP now -- Monday isn't far away and it is all getting very real. I've got to prepare a presentation and I'm waking at 5am every morning worrying about it ... and having pictures in my head like this. But in a strange way I'm also looking forward to it.

Could I ask people to pray for me? It would really mean a lot to me to know that. And you've all been so supportive so far

Thanks to you all

UniqueAndAmazing · 07/06/2013 12:33

mhd - don't ask me how I'm doing! I'm likely to cry! WinkBlush

no, I'm fine, really.

I'm missing church on Sunday morning because I'm selling games workshop at some convention thing in the town Grin
It'll be fun.
NV is back this week, so I'll miss his first service, and I think he's not taking evensong, so I probably won't see him at all

Dutchoma · 07/06/2013 12:53

Will pray that you really enjoy the challenge and that you will give the impression that you will be a really good vicar.. in a few years' time.

UniqueAndAmazing · 07/06/2013 13:40

course we'll pray, ninimy

you'll be fine. if it's meant to be, you will be fine :)

niminypiminy · 07/06/2013 13:44

Thank you both. It does mean a lot. Smile

madhairday · 07/06/2013 16:48

Very much praying, niminy.

You'll be fine...but I know that's easy to say. Go get 'em. :)

Looking forward to the weekend as the whole family are getting together to celebrate Mum's 70th, staying in a hotel together, so should be really lovely. Just making her cake now, and have made her a photobook scrapbook of her life - loved making it, made me really quite weepy, seeing her grow from baby upwards, and found some old photos from my aunt and scanned them in so it's really special, hope she likes it.

Dutchoma · 07/06/2013 19:42

She'll love it MHD. she will love all the effort you have put into it and she will love the photographs themselves. Have a wonderful day.

Jaynebxl · 12/06/2013 06:36

How did you get on on Monday Niminy?

And did you sell lots, unique?

UniqueAndAmazing · 12/06/2013 15:32

yes, i did thank you jayne* - it wasn't totally mad, but plenty enough to make it worth my while

niminypiminy · 13/06/2013 10:18

Back now from the BAP -- it was a really intense three days, but I met some amazing people, and thought it is such a hopeful sign for the church if such people are putting themselves forward for ordination. And though it was exhausting, at the moment anyway I feel at peace about the process.

But now I'm off to work and to catch up with all the things I didn't do while I was away!

Dutchoma · 13/06/2013 10:40

I think only people in the know would have realised this was a three day event. Glad you got on ok. What's the next step now?

niminypiminy · 13/06/2013 10:44

You're right DO -- yes it's a three day residential selection process, in which you are 'on show' the whole time, as well as having interviews, giving presentations and other activities.

It can take up to two weeks before you hear the result -- I'm sure the suspense will get to me (at the moment still too on a high and exhausted). Then the result is either yes or no.

How are you?

Dutchoma · 13/06/2013 10:54

Two weeks isn't that long, but long enough to get worried about it. You may not, though, knowing that it is all in God's hands.
We are ok-ish. It's a year since Bob went on oxygen today, so a year since our whole life got upheavaled. Not a lot has happened in that time for good or bad, so it looks as if we are in for a long haul. Somebody said to me the other day that he thought I was remarkably cheerful, given the circumstances. I said that I felt that was 'the joy of the Lord' being played out. Couldn't have done it without Him. Are you ever in a position to 'drop in' for a visit. Would be lovely to see you.

cloutiedumpling · 13/06/2013 12:01

Three days of being on show - ouch! You'll be glad its over now. The two weeks will hopefully pass quite quickly.

Bluetinkerbell · 13/06/2013 21:37

Prayed for you lots niminy hope you hear something soon!
I've found a job as parish assistant I'm anything for! :)

niminypiminy · 14/06/2013 12:30

Blue, that's great! Praying that this is the right opening for you.

niminypiminy · 14/06/2013 12:32

DO how I would love to visit you. You are not far from some of our family -- if we are going to be around that way I'll get in touch Smile

Dutchoma · 14/06/2013 13:41

Please do. I would love to be able to set up a meeting day again, but can't quite see me doing it. So anybody who is anywhere nearby is more than welcome to come and visit and drink Brew

Jaynebxl · 15/06/2013 07:48

Have lots of you met in person? Is everyone very spread out?

thanksamillion · 15/06/2013 08:25

I haven't met anyone in person but I am in Moldova which probably counts as fairly spread out! I have a few people on fb though.

Dutchoma · 15/06/2013 09:19

We had two meet-ups of people on the Christian prayer thread. The first was in 2006 or/07 in Oxford and the second one two years ago here in Northampton. About 8 people came to both with loads of kids. Only two I think came to both, Mary and I.

I have met others too, but always long to know more about everybody. Nosy, that's me.
