It is 5.08AM. Aillidh is with us still, with sats that have remained in the 70s for the night, even when moved, and a stable pulse, and pupils reacting normally to light stimulus.

Keep going little girl, tiny, tiny steps xxxx

Mindyourownbusiness · 06/07/2012 11:54

I actually hate this word since it became teen speak for anything remotely good (bar of chocolate , a new top etc ) but this is really Awesome in the true justified sense of the word.
I believe also her ancestors are behind her as someone else said.
Can l ask a really silly question. I read somewhere on one of these many long threads about Ailidh having a graft (l think it was?) and they were hoping it would take or something like that. Is that anything to do with a bone marrow transplant or instead of one or to tide her over till she gets one ?? Basically what l am asking is are they still waiting for a donor match and what happens next if they find one any minute now. (well it's possible ! - anything is possible it seems around this little girl)

Wish l'd paid more attention on my Medical Terminology course Hmm

Anyway Ailidh you are absolutely awesome. You really really want to stay with your family it seems - and who could blame you they are wonderful.

"Sorrow may last for a night, but joy cometh in the morning". No truer words.

I fell asleep praying for Ailidh, and I am so glad to hear that there is positive news this morning. I've also told dh and the dses about Ailidh, and asked them to pray too.

I'll be praying throughout today.

Pendulum · 06/07/2012 11:56

mindyourownbusiness Aillidh has had a bone marrow transplant, the 'grafting' is the process of the transplant 'taking'.

Julezboo · 06/07/2012 11:59

Our candle is lit today until we go out to get the bigger boys from school later :)

You can fight this Aillidh!!! xx :)

ZacharyQuack · 06/07/2012 11:59

Mind I believe Aillidh has had a transplant, and now they are dealing with the after-effects, including respiratory inflections.

"Well, none of them knows what to make of it all" - obviously they don't know about the power of MN Vibes.

notmydog · 06/07/2012 11:59

mindyourownbusiness, from what I can gather the transplant have been fairly successful so far, but her body has been plagued by a viral infection and at the moment the main problem is to get her lungs strong enough to provide her body with enough oxygen. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Naoko · 06/07/2012 11:59

I have been away on holiday for three weeks and I have logged onto MN this morning because I could not stop thinking about Ailidh while I was away. I've finding my way through the threads to this recent one with tears in my eyes and dreading coming to the last post as the news seemed to get worse and worse, only to find this positive update.

While I was away, I lit a candle for her in the cathedral at Pienza, which is one of my favourite places in the whole world. I'm lighting another one here at home now.

Megan74 · 06/07/2012 12:00

I would really like to donate some money to Ailidlh's family to help at this difficult time. I have a paypal account - could anyone tell me how I do it. Keep going Aillidh x

daenerysstormborn · 06/07/2012 12:01

mindyourownbusiness - i'm pretty sure they found 2 matches, not perfect matches, but enough to give it a try.

i've never been sure if i believe in a god or not, but i'm beginning to wonder if there is some divine intervention going on here, long may it continue for aillidh's sake.

hidinginthecupboard · 06/07/2012 12:03

gingercurl · 06/07/2012 12:23

Wonderful news!

still praying and holding hands.

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 06/07/2012 12:25

Oh Rabid There have been so so many comments i have wanted to 'love' never mind 'like' on here, I have been so moved by the amount of people willing this little poppet to get better. Aillidh is an inspiration to so many people who sit and moan daily about things that really don't matter. A true fairy princess!

AllYouNeedIsAClickyBallpoint · 06/07/2012 12:25

Just lit another virtual candle. There's 17 pages of them! That's a lot of love and well wishes from around the world :)
Keep going Aillidh xx

psychomum5 · 06/07/2012 12:26

they found two 5/6 matches from cord blood donated. The match they used came from a cord donated from a now 2yr old boy in america (obviously donated when he was born).

they went ahead with the transplant, and all seemed good, altho she contracted a virus in her throat, and due to the aggresive chemo knocking off her immune system obviously she wasn;t able to fight it so well.

she has been having a lot of tests and treatment and they found that the virus (human pneumo something) had migrated to her lungs, which has led to her now being on a vent and fighting so hard.

and she is fighting....she is astounding us all and hanging tight hold to all those who love her so dearly.
