'The Lord is my light and my salvation?
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident.

The one thing I ask of the Lord?
the thing I seek most?
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life'

( From Psalm 27)

This was read today. 'My heart will not be afraid' so much chimed with me. In the face of opposition, there is still the absolute certainty and protection of God's love. In our prayers now, at such a hard time, we are calling on that certainty. Our hearts will not be afraid.

Loving Father, hear our prayers

bumpybecky · 06/07/2012 00:32

I'm still hoping for a miracle for Aillidh, feeling as though we're all part of that mighty army, standing beside Expat and her family. I'm glad they have their faith in God xx

runnindownadream · 06/07/2012 00:35

Northernlurker · 06/07/2012 00:43
was also sung today.

'For You are with me and Your rod and staff are the comfort I need to know.
I will trust in You alone'

Alambil · 06/07/2012 00:44
ZeroFucksGiven · 06/07/2012 00:46

I also need to go to bed but just cant. It feels Like we are abandoning Aillidh Sad

Alambil · 06/07/2012 00:49

Zero, she needs us to be strong - to be strong we need to sleep.

It is sustaining her support system. We must sleep to remain strong for Expat, for Aillidh and for the whole family of Mumsnet who are affected

Sleep is not failiure or abandoning them - it is necessary.

Northernlurker · 06/07/2012 00:50

Zero - Aillidh has her mum and her dad and she has her heavenly Father. She will never be abandoned. We just need to do what we can and that will be enough. I know exactly what you mean but i'm going to have to go to bed soon too.

Lewis - that's lovely

Have sat and read all these (lost internet for 4 hours). And cried.

Sending love to Ailidh and her family and friends. Have sat in the dark night and prayed.

Now i dont want to go to bed. But i have to work tomorrow. I am mentally holding hands in the circle.

iMoniker · 06/07/2012 00:57

The sun has come up here - it's a beautiful day. Aillidh you are constantly in my thoughts. I have lit a candle for you, had a little cry and will sit and wait for news. Darling child, my heart breaks for your family. Thinking of you and hoping that somehow you'll wake from this terrible nightmare and all will be well. Love to you all xxxx

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 06/07/2012 01:00

Goodnight precious girls.
x

BlueFergie · 06/07/2012 01:01

Wishing you a peaceful pain free night Aillidh. Surrounded by the love of your family and the larger outer circle from mumsnet.
Be not afraid. Xxx

iMoniker · 06/07/2012 01:03

Should we start a new thread and ask MN to keep this one? This one is becoming quite difficult to load.

CakeistheAnswer · 06/07/2012 01:05

I can't find the words, but I am willing Aillidh to hold on with all my heart.

We're with you tonight. xxxx
