No news at the moment since the last update.

I will post it again here in case anyone missed it tho.

"Aillidh update: slight improvement in xray. Bronchoscope and lavage done. She is comfortable and sedated. Plan is to leave her on vent a few days and find out what is going on inside her lungs with results of bronchoscope/lavage. Please, please keep praying. Your prayers, thoughts, vibes and anything are keeping her and us going. We are buoyed by everyone's strength and hope. Her grandmother is here now and her maternal grandparents will be here on Monday."

No half an hour is usual, for an arterial line.
Hope the X-ray shows something treatable and not too debilitating.
Still praying, still hoping, still here x

l had a chat with my late big brothers pic on my dressing table this morning about Ailidh.

He fought cancer three times but lived nearly 20 years after his first diagnosis. He was due to go in a hospice the day after he died but he really didnt want to go as he couldnt bear to see poorly children Sad even though we explained to him he would only be with adults. He never felt sorry for himself but often said how he hated the thought there were children out there as sick as he was.

I know he would have hated to see little Ailidh so poorly and with the greatest of respect to people who are religious - l'm not - so am sorry if this is disrespectful, that is not my intention - but l have asked him if he is now with his god he believed in then please 'put a word in' for her.

He lived to be nearly 60 in the end and despite all his illness always considered himself very blessed with his lot. He was so positive and his indestructable optimism was inspirational.

There was no other hymn we could play at his funeral except this one:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T8aD7vOLbY

and l have been warbling singing it all morning. Maybe some of you would like to drown me out join in for Ailidh and her family and anyone else who is poorly and their loved ones this morning. xx

this is just too awful to read. really hoping that poor little Aillidh can feel the strength coming from all over the country/world that is willing her to get better.

sending love xxx

slartybartfast · 01/07/2012 11:13

i thougth you were her sister giraffe. you have been so Lovely Smile

positive that the doctors and medics seem to be working so hard.

sending hope to A and all her family x

TimeForMeAndDD · 01/07/2012 11:18

I don't think I have ever prayed as much or as hard as I have recently. I am willing strength over to Aillidh to fight this. What an amazing little girl she has already proved to be, long may that continue.

olivo · 01/07/2012 11:24

What fab friends you are then, giraffes and psycho Smile I too thought you must be related to show such love and giving.

Off to pray for you all.

Another candle lit. Just praying to anyone who will listen.

prettybird · 01/07/2012 11:37

If my dad had still been working at Yorkhill, he'd have been taking and analysing her X-rays. But he's been retired 20 years.

Still thinking positive thoughts and checking in here regularly.

5madthings · 01/07/2012 11:38

still here, still hoping against hope and sending love and strenght xxx

fingers crossed the drs find a way to treat Aillidhs lungs and help her to get strong, i hope she remains comfortable and is managing to get some sleep.

also hope her siblings get well soon, why do these things always happen at once? :(

rooting for you Aillidh and expat sending you strength and hope and holding your hand, we are all wishing there was more we could do xxx

LollipopViolet · 01/07/2012 11:40

Sending even more love and healing Aillidh's way, with some for Expat, family and her lovely friends too xx

wheniwasoneihadjustbegun · 01/07/2012 11:54

I have lurked but not posted on this thread. Have been sending strength and saying prayers for Ailidh. She sounds like such a fantastic girl and is clearly surrounded by love.

I also wanted to say, Expat / Giraffes / Psycho that I am just outside Edinburgh and gave a houseful of kids stuff, so if there is anything at all that Ailidh's siblings need (toys, bedding, 3 year old boy sized clothes?) just pm me and I can drop it round (away for the weekend but home tomorrow eve).
