Prayers for Aillidh.

Just wanted to start a prayer thread for expat's little girl, Ailidh, who has been very ill with leukaemia. Just wanted to show our support and pray that her treatment works and that she is back in action very, very soon!

Poor little girl. Thoughts sent skyward here xx

Thoughts and prays from me here too. Have been following the facebook thread but have not posted there.

I can't imagine what it is like see your child go through what she is going though. Lots of love to expat and her family. I really, really hope things turn around for her soon.

Do you know, I was thinking this morning of starting a thread asking how she was. I've been linked to this thread from a new one in chat, I think.

Positive thoughts coming from me...every day.

Aillidh is waiting to go down to theatre.

She has an adult form of leukaemia with rare genetics within her cancer.

She has had 5 rounds of 7-10 day chemo of 3-5 drugs and numerous side effects.

She had an allogenic stem cell transplant, cord blood donor, 28 days ago and in that time, has had 6 infections.

She is sleeping now and we are waiting for her to go down to theatre for a broncho scope and lavage. She has an infection in her chest (everything else has been ruled out) that has spiked her temp for 4 days and is not responding to all these drugs.

So here's hoping this procedure will determine what it is or flush it out, even.

She has a very long road even after this, with 18 months of monitoring and drugs, 5 years of checking for relapse and a lifetime of side effects.

Last night, her temp was soaring away she narrowly missed another transfer to HDU.

Expats. I hope this hurdle is crossed quickly x

She is completely neutropaenic and has only 3 lymphocytes, so she'll go the back way into theatre.

Still waiting.

Poor kid's been through the mill.

expat, have been following what's going on via twitter and facebook. i have everything crossed for ailidh and think of you all often. it must hurt so much to see her going through this. i just hope with all my heart her treatment works and very soon, she turns a corner, x.
