My poor dog.

Woke up this morning to a strange feeling. Freedom. The dog hadnt managed to sneak into the bed despite the door being open. Odd I thought as I wandered into the kitchen. On my way through I noticed my dog sprawled out on the living room floor.
When tea was made she was gone I thought she had maybe gone into DH, she hadnt, so I then checked DS room, she wasnt in there either. Found her curled up panting and shaking on the bathroom floor. (she never goes in the bathroom)
She is now sitting in her bed panting very loudly and shaking. I have found the remmnants of an Ikea pencil next to where she was laying last night.
Feel helpless because vet doesnt open till 9am and she is obviously suffering right now and I cant do anything.
My poor little baisey boo.

x-post. Glad she's home!

Hurray !!!! Plog hasn't wanted anything yet, I can't see her wanting tea either. I'm wondering what sort of night we're in for ......

Just heard about Blaise from mum. Glad she's ok.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 08/06/2010 21:12

Thanks DG. She is certainly being very quiet at the moment. Just trying to think of ways to persuade dad to take repayment for the vets bill. Im thinking sneaking the money into his wallet whilst he sleeps is the best bet!

Would also like to say thanks to everyone for your kind words and well wishes!

"Urgh Ive just seen the other thread about this I just want to explain...

Blaise went out on a huge walk last night. Lots of mad dashing about after her ball on the football pitch. To the point she came in had a drink and was out for the count! ( which says alot for a very bouncy Stafford!)

She can sometimes be achey and shakey when she has overdone it.

She often chews things. A few of DS wooden animals from his noahs ark have shuffled the mortal coil this way.

It was just the fact that the two things were combined that made me worry. As I said, better to be safe than sorry.

It just seemed more sensible to wait and go to my local (3 min drive up the road) vet surgery at 9am rather than drive to the City branch which has the out of hours vet service, a drive which would of taken at least 40 minutes, plus finding parking and the matter of sorting out DD."

Then I owe you a huge and genuine apology, ABF.

I can only say that it didn't read like that, not to my tired, weary eyes.

And as for your dog being fine after all, the cheeky moo! But rather that than anything else, regardless of stress and vet bills. I'm very relieved to hear that she's doing well now (one thing you can't do is say I don't care about dogs, no matter how arsey I am I suppose!).

Again, I'm very sorry and will be making a donation to a local SBT rescue by way of an apology to you. I hope you'll approve of my choice.

kid · 08/06/2010 21:56

Glad to hear all is well. I read your first post this morning and kept checking in while at work (good job I bought a blackberry as work blocked loads of sites!)

I was so worried for you and your dig. What a monster putting you through that! All's well that ends well x

AlCrowley · 08/06/2010 22:43

Glad she's doing better ABF

And glad Valhalla apologised!!

Vallhala · 08/06/2010 23:00

SO I should, AlCrowley, so I should.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 08/06/2010 23:45

I think that - and your repost - are very big of you, Valhalla, and would like to thank you again for your help to me last night.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 08/06/2010 23:46

(Also glad Blaise is doing well. )

Flighttattendant · 09/06/2010 06:21

Nice one, Val well done. and fwiw I can see why you misread the OP, just usually tend to give the benefit of the doubt, you know!

millimurphy · 09/06/2010 08:11

That's very decent of you Vallhala. Glad BooBoo is OK Ferret. Wouldn't worry about the reimbursement of parent - think we know how much that hound is thought of by said pater!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/06/2010 09:28

Thank you for the apology Vallhala. I more than approve of your choice of charity. Incase you didnt know Blaise is infact a SBT (there is a picture of her with DS on my profile for any one who wants a visual of the overdramatic hound herself!)
SBT are definitely a misunderstood breed but people can now add melodramatic and over the top to their qualities!

Thank you for your generous words ABF. I'd read that Blaise was a SBT (at least I cottoned on to that much!).

Lovely pictures, not just that of Blaise, but every one of them.

Alicetheinvisible · 09/06/2010 16:46

Ferret - so pleased all ok My mum has a SBT that is so soft it is almost embarassing. He likes to have the telly left on while he is at home by himself and is always bringing toys to whichever child is in the house at the time

oxocube · 09/06/2010 18:48

So pleased for your dog ABF and Val, it takes a big person to apologise publicly on a forum like this. You obviously love and know dogs and give such valuable advice to dog owners here - am so happy everything is resolved
