Looks more Cavapoo to me.

MadameThenardier · 02/04/2023 23:48

The photos aren’t great so it’s difficult to tell… Also looks quite young and they can change as they grow. Looks to be some sort of poodle mix. Is it supposed to be a cockerpoo?

SmoothSeasDoNotMakeGoodSailors · 03/04/2023 00:43

A cute one.

TheCentreSlide · 03/04/2023 00:50

Absolutely adorable.

Oopsadaisysgranny · 03/04/2023 01:08

Some sort of poodle mix I would imagine

Ladybird69 · 03/04/2023 01:17

Deffo poo hmmm not sure cava or cocka to me could be Maltese or bichon mix. He’s a sweetie for sure.

MarchMadness23 · 03/04/2023 01:21

I don't think so, looks more of a toy breed poodle cross to me

peppermintteagirl · 03/04/2023 06:02

Absolutely impossible to tell at that age from those photos. Are you thinking of buying this pup?

massivenamechnage · 03/04/2023 06:10

Looks like both my cockapoos did as pups
1 is three quarters poodle and 1 is fifty fifty

as adults the three quarters is smaller but chunkier

both regularly get mistaken for cava poos

hair is very long- how old?

someadvice20 · 03/04/2023 10:08

Not me who's buying -
posting for a friend who has her already

Apparently, 11 weeks , can't say I agree
I'll try get more photos

Apparently a Cockapoo yes mum is spaniel dad is poodle
So not come from a cockapoo mum and cockapoo dad would that explain why a bit smaller? As it's not two cockapoo parents?

I've got a photo of the apparent mum with the other puppies that look the same. Although I've no idea if it's legit

But the puppy does look like the ones in the pics with mum?
So maybe she's just younger than they say

blueminnow · 03/04/2023 10:39

The mum looks like a springer spaniel not a cocker spaniel.

I believe if one parent is a springer spaniel and one parent is a poodle it would be called a springerdoodle.

A cocker poo would be one parent is a cocker spaniel and one parent would be a poodle.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 03/04/2023 10:41

Those are Labrador ears so I’d say there’s some lab in there somewhere.

someadvice20 · 03/04/2023 10:52

Tbh all look the same too me in some way when they grow up. I'm just not convinced she's 11 weeks at all

OP posts:
someadvice20 · 03/04/2023 10:53

Will it grow to medium ish size as a cockapoo would? If that is the mum and dad

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/04/2023 10:57

Mum is a springer spaniel not a cocker spaniel

blueminnow · 03/04/2023 10:58

Size all depends on the parents and which genes the puppy has inherited from both.

Springer spaniels are more chunky than cocker spaniels but it will also depend on dad too and what size poodle he is.

All mixes and even puppies in the same litter will inherit different genes so it's impossible to tell.

I would say at a guess the smaller end of medium

someadvice20 · 03/04/2023 11:04

Yeah okay that makes sense.

I've just looked up springerdoodle and they all look the bloody same too me lol

Well, if she wanted a cockapoo she should of gone to see the mum first but instead she got her delivered to her address and just looked at photos 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

She looks much bigger (taller) in that last photo. The Mum being a springer, not a cocker, will make a big difference.

with a mix breed you just don't know how much of each breed you'll get. It's very much a lucky dip purchase.

Does she have any photos of the dig supposedly the DSD?

what has her vet said? Can she visit the bitches vet?

is she just curious or is there a reason for the question??

mumto2teenagers · 03/04/2023 11:17

If she had the dog delivered to her without seeing the puppy with it's mother first then I would be concerned about it being from a puppy farm, she has no idea what conditions it was living in.

I would recommend taking to vet for a health check, they will also be able to determine age of the puppy. If she is younger than 8 weeks she should still be with her mother, when a puppy is taken from their litters too early they are more likely to display problems in behaviour and temperament when they are older.

I agree with this.

I don't want to sound mean but getting a dog is a huge responsibility and needs to be looked into carefully, for your friends sake as well as the dogs.

It sounds like your friend hasn't looked into things as much as she needed too and as she has so many questions I think it would be a good idea for her to visit the vets and ask for some guidance.

It is a huge red flag to me that the supposed breeder was happy to deliver the puppy to her as that is not the actions of a responsible breeder and like the previous poster suggests a puppy farm where it is all about money not the dog or the new owners.

Wolfiefan · 03/04/2023 12:27

Your friend has done a bloody stupid thing. I suggest they get this dog insured ASAP and then get a vet check. Whatever it is and however old it is this dog does not come from a decent breeder.

CMOTDibbler · 03/04/2023 12:30

That picture of 'mum and pups' screams puppy farm - they have been dumped just inside the door of a house for photos, and look at her face. Poor puppy needs a thorough vet check immediately

MadameThenardier · 03/04/2023 12:35

TBH, I find it hard to believe that either of those dogs are the parents to that all black litter of puppies. Happy to be corrected.
