What is she?

I might be rescuing a kitten but they aren't sure what breed she is... Is she 'just' a standard moggy?

Very round orange eyes and a tail longer than her body

The eyes are like a British shorthair. Is her head round?

TheQueef · 28/09/2020 14:25

She's beautiful.

Pollypocket89 · 28/09/2020 14:27

Not round round

My black cat that I adopted was supposed to be a Bombay, you could have a compare to some images online maybe.

The vets have mine listed as domestic cat. The insurance might be more expensive if she was pedigree so I’m not too concerned.

Sunnydaysstillhere · 28/09/2020 14:28

Part puma??

AfterSchoolWorry · 28/09/2020 14:31

Oh my, she's gorgeous!

Pollypocket89 · 28/09/2020 14:36

How old does she look? She's very light and tiny

She looks quite young to me, but I’m not an expert. She looks like a real Hallowe’en cat though!

PurplePansy05 · 28/09/2020 15:27

I think she's domestic shorthair. She's beautiful.

Looks under 1 year to me, perhaps around 8-9 months old?

Pollypocket89 · 28/09/2020 15:32

They've said 4 or 5 months but she's not been spayed yet. I don't know if that's a weight thing as she's a lot smaller than she looks in the last picture

She looks just like our rescue cat.
British domestic shorthair aka moggy.

Looks like a pretty moggy to me - but I agree, she does look to have an unfeasably long tail Grin.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/09/2020 16:59

Oops. unfeasibly.

GerundTheBehemoth · 28/09/2020 17:01

Not a British shorthair, they have squished faces. I think she looks like a 'domestic shorthair' aka moggy, and an absolutely gorgeous one.

Pollypocket89 · 28/09/2020 17:06

Hoping that means her balance is good!

This is one of my boys. Lots of hair and very vocal (lots of range of noises). He's a moggy if assorted parentage by the looks.

What is she?
Bargebill19 · 28/09/2020 17:16

Like my Arfer! Standard British short hair ex feral mog.

What is she?
Beamur · 28/09/2020 17:18

I hadn't heard of Bombay's..they look lovely but not appreciably different looking to domestic shorthair.

Pollypocket89 · 28/09/2020 17:20

@Bargebill19 she looks exactly like that, even down to the baldy looking bits at certain angles around the eye/eyebrow area. Is he part feral?

MrsKingfisher · 28/09/2020 17:22

My domestic shorthair has a very Egyptian face and very long tail I think he's part Burmese, his sister is much smaller with a very short tail both bloody gorgeous!

PurplePansy05 · 28/09/2020 17:28

I may have been misled by the tail actually, she might be younger. One of my cats has a super long tail and pretty long legs too. She's extremely gracious, a great jumper too. Her balance is phenomenal, lucky you 😁
