I hereby offficialy open The Labrador Club - because they deserve it!

Has anyone else got a soppy lab?

Ours is 16months old, black. At night he sleeps in his bed next to ours with his tongue slightly out and snores!

His fave food - socks!

Oh no, we think Archie may have a torsion, not nice. DH has taken him to the emergency vet, fingers crossed!

How is Archie this morning mrspink?

Thanks for caring! Just didnt know what to do with myself last night as DH drove away with him, and he's not even my dog!![hmmm]
They kept him in overnight and xrayed, not a torsion, but severe bloat which is uncommon in young dogs. Had lots of runny poo overnight ( he he he at least i didn't have to clear it up) and he was very vocal this morning, so back to normal. He is already on a special diet for his dodgy stomach so we are having to review this as the vet thinks he may have a motility problem! Thank goodness for insurance!

I've got a yellow lab x retriever called Bertie, he is just 5. He is adorable, more highly strung than a lab I think. He has just come home after an hour playing with his best friend and lover Taxi, a black lab. Despite being castrated last summer ( he became too testosterone driven and attacked other dogs, though still goes for golden retrievers ,no great personality difference noticed) he is adorable, and is so well behaved at home. Chopinrocks I wouldn't hesitate to get your dog done and if I had had my way Bertie would have been done as a pup and then he would have always stayed an adorable, submissive dog that he was, once his hormones got the better of him at about 3 1/2 he became difficult. His best friend Taxi was also done and he is much better now too. He seems much calmer in the fact that he doesn't need to pee over everything outside (and occassionally inside after visitors)in order to mark his territory. If anyone has any advice about how to cure his hatred of golden retrievers I'd be grateful. Our family just love him to bits
