Scary government EHCP changes and petition

Hopefully all of us have already signed the petition which has been started by Special Needs Jungle to ask the government not to cut SEN support for children. There have been leaked suggestions that they are planning to remove all EHCPs in mainstream education. They already have 50,000+ signatures but need to get to 100,000 signatures plus to get a debate in parliament.

This government are treacherous bastards.

This really is the government throwing all children under a bus, as well as the teaching staff. If those who need support simply aren't given the help they need then it will be practically impossible to teach effectively. All children will lose out. I'm so disappointed, I really thought education was more valued than this.

I 100% agree with you @SendBooksAndTea. We just need to share with everyone we know and beg them to sign to try to stop this as it will inflict appalling damage.

Thanks to everyone who has signed this. Let’s keep this going to prevent this going ahead, which would be disastrous for children with special educational needs, all children across the mainstream sector as a whole and for teaching staff.
