Yes it would, if we get clarity on the Equality Act but children are still being indoctrinated in schools with regressive sexual stereotypes which lead some of them on a path to unnecessary surgery and medication and others to grow up to undo our good work on securing women’s rights and everyone’s then our victory will be Pyrrhic.

To sign the petition against teaching ‘gender identity’ ideology as part of RSE education in schools, for example that, though someone may have been ‘assigned’ male at birth, they are really a girl if they think they are - and vice versa -because everyone has an inner gender.

Petition against teaching children ‘gender identity’ ideology in RSE lessons at school.

Children should not be given the idea that they have an inner gender that might contradict their sex - this implies there is something wrong/ill-fitting about them; or imply that they can change sex by adopting a different gender.

What is the point of the petition to update the equality act to make clear that sex means biological sex if children are being taught to believe it is cancelled by an inner feeling completely removed from biology?

If you have a little boy who likes dolls, do you want him to be confused into thinking he may not really be a boy but have an inner ‘gender identity’ that means he is a girl instead?

Or have a little girl who is a tomboy, or embarrassed that men are looking at her body, or the victim of sexual abuse, or autistic and feeling not accepted as school, or guilty that she likes other girls - start to hate her body and think she may have a ‘gender identity’ that means she is a boy and that finally all will be solved if she gets rid of her breasts and starts taking damaging hormones, and possibly goes on later to have a hysterectomy?

Another thread is about how a disproportionate number of girls who are child sexual abuse survivors from paedophile ridden Blackpool presented as transgender.

Is this really because they have an inner ‘transgender identity as boys?

Or is it because they are suffering from self-hate of their own bodies for attracting abuse?

Were the gender clinics which treated them right to give these girls testosterone, breast binders and affirmation that they were ‘males’ to match their ‘gender identity’? Or should they have been giving them therapy and on going help for trauma?

This petition is against confusing children with the non-scientific idea that they may have an inner ‘gender identity’ which may be at odds with their sex as recorded at birth.

I hope people keep signing. It needs to get to 10,000 by 18th January and it is so nearly there it would be a shame to just miss the target.

If we want the Equality Act to be updated to make clear that sex means biological sex [not gender], then why would we want children to be taught that sex and gender are interchangeable in RSE lessons in schools?

Teaching children that though they were ‘assigned’ a sex at birth they have an inner ‘gender identity’ which might not match it, and which might be their true self, is effectively doing just that. Children are perfect in the bodies they were recorded as having been born with, regardless of whether they like pink or blue.

These RSE lessons are very often outsourced to organisations with an agenda to promote trans ideology.

I hope so too ScrollingLeaves. Getting gender identity out of schools, getting regressive sexual stereotypes out of schools, protecting children from adults with dubious agendas and from being put on a path to unnecessary, harmful medication and surgery is so important.

Not to mention enabling children of all ages including teenagers the privacy and dignity of separate changing rooms and toilets. Imagine being a teenage girl having to deal with periods in mixed sex facilities. It must be excruciating for many of them.

We must stop teaching children that they might be born in the wrong body due to their hobbies, likes and dislikes.

We must help children understand their world including the sexed nature of human beings. They need a secure grounding in reality to help them navigate the world. To keep themselves safe they need to know that they can trust their own judgment on who is a man and who is a woman. Don’t we mothers so often say, if you get lost or need help look for a mother with children?

Thank you, Hop, it is so difficult to explain what is happening and parents may not realise that their children’s RSE lessons have often been institutionally captured by ‘gender identity’ ideology.
