So nauseous do they make me in fact that I cannot bring myself to open them or even post on them. Some are follow-on threads from ones that I really enjoy. I know it's unreasonable but it is a visceral reaction- I just expect them to be filled with barely literate tripe...

I have to hide the ones that say "would of", "could of" , "should of" ...

lalalonglegs · 03/04/2009 21:54

Shudder in sympathy with Katisha. Also overuse of "lol" where it becomes a sort of ersatz punctuation.

gigglechick · 03/04/2009 21:55

the thread title is fantastic

NorbertDentressangle · 03/04/2009 21:56

Katisha -aah, yes, thats the one I had to hide last week!

ScottishMummy -the only bit missing from your fabulous example is the "txt spk"

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/04/2009 21:57

Yes SM

Especially irritating when picking out a poster's name.

  • I'm with you Katisha on that one.
duchesse · 03/04/2009 21:57

Thank you Giggle! I accidentally chopped a T from the from the start of "title" while trying appropriately to misspell "thread" though.

feck isn't cutesey, its homage to Father Ted. and Dougal of course

ScottishMummy · 03/04/2009 22:24

i love Father ted.and yes they do feck a lot

duchesse · 03/04/2009 22:43

Grimma, I love your nickname too. Is Grimma the young pretty one, or the one who's as old as the hills and says "There's good eatin' on a fox!"?

OP posts:
GrimmaTheNome · 03/04/2009 22:47

don't know about pretty, but the one with attitude!

duchesse · 03/04/2009 22:52

They all have attitude! I suppose he doesn't really describe any of them, does he? I just imagined that she'd be pretty as well as feisty.

OP posts:
thumbbunny · 03/04/2009 22:54

good fred - I like freds like this!

I agree with SM that enormous blocks of text with no paragraphs, next to no grammar and wads of txt spk do cause me to want to slit my wrists and advise the OP to do the same to do us all a favour. However, I have been known to plough through a few of them and then give some helpful hints

Nowt wrong with feck, I use it a lot in RL as well.

MirandaG · 03/04/2009 22:59

Feck originally meant to put something down, as in 'would you ever feck that over there?' , so it is not the same as fuck...and that over-used Irish word 'craic' comes from the Irish for slapping skin - 'bualadh craicean' (sp?) i.e. fucking (not fecking). So think twice before you say 'oh yeah, we had great craic'.
