I received this mailer today. Who on earth proof-read this? The grammar is poor and has actually irritated me!

I'm not planning to sell my house, but if I did, this tiny little detail would put me off using this company.

One mistake could be understood as a bunch of people just missing it. But that is mind bogglingly bad. Would put me off too. Pity because the overall tone and style is sort of appealing.

@bookworm44 I am a teacher, and I agree that teachers' grammar seems to be getting worse! It's embarrassing!
OP, I would also immediately be put off this company. I'd be tempted to contact them about their mistakes to be honest!

I recently came across a leaflet for a course in "basic english and mathmatic" and I have given the fuck up.

Clearly the ee cummings version of the language and mathmatic in the misspelt singular because, y'know, cutbacks.

The point for me would be that if they are too lazy to have their ad proof read for mistakes, then they are probably pretty lazy in general and therefore wouldn’t get my business.

It’s actually frightening. My sister’s children go to a highly regarded school and every piece of school correspondence is littered with basic literacy mistakes.

Oh please do let them know. That's a disgrace.

@Tiddlypomtiddlypom your sister needs to let the school know! I pointed out a mistake at my DD's school recently. I don't care if they think I'm annoying. 😂
