Check out this party...

I need to sleep now but shout if you want more ideas tomorrow. Xx

Blatherskite · 24/09/2012 10:23

There's a loads of good party ideas but there doesn't seem to be a lot of craft ideas. I could do ears and maybe biscuit decorating but I'm not sure if we're insured for providing food - which leaves me with ears.

AFAIK, Mickey is the theme - maybe Minnie too. I'm getting so desperate though, I'd be happy to push it to the whole Clubhouse gang...

stealthsquiggle · 24/09/2012 12:27

This looks closer?

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 24/09/2012 12:35

I could try the colouring pages I guess. There aren't really any crafts that I could do with 2 year olds though - unless I've missed them?

stealthsquiggle · 24/09/2012 13:17

Crafts with 2yos is a tall order at the best of times. I will have another think. Something with handprints? Or salt dough??

Tinkerisdead · 24/09/2012 18:43

Can you not do the photo booth idea after the mouse ears? Cheap frames from ikea. Stick it in the party bag as a souvenier. You can buy those fridge magnets to put photos in so even them if its cheaper?

Ive ordered loads of stuff for the rapunzel party, my dad has almost finished invites. Ive ordered some lantern kits on clearance from baker ross as another craft activity too. Tonight i'm going to get cracking on the pascal costume.

Blatherskite · 24/09/2012 18:44

We're only there for an hour and I'm not sure whether we're allowed to take photos.

stealthsquiggle · 24/09/2012 19:24

Are you doing face painting? If so, then that, ears and some coloring sheets would cover it IMO. Could the business invest in a class pack of crayola super washable pens?

DD's helpful suggestion was to make clubhouses out of modelling clay. She wouldn't accept that it might be a bit ambitious for 2yos

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 24/09/2012 20:00

No face painting this time I don't think. Have passed it back to the bosses. Serves 'em right for agreeing to a theme without looking into it :)

Tinkerisdead · 25/09/2012 22:53

quick tell me fun stuff, party stuff, sugary sweet stuff. I've just been scared shitless on the 'strange things you've seen' thread. Stick people and shadow people chasing you etc. (i really need to just stay here on our fluffy bunny thread).

stealthsquiggle · 25/09/2012 23:05

I have spent 7 hours in the car today and have done no dragon sewing at all. I have made a personalised scarf for a bear, and now I am going to bed!

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 25/09/2012 23:36

Stratters has seen a spooky stickman before it seems. Arghhh ive spooked myself googling etc.

Well done on the personalised scarf but you will have to crack on. I've finally removed all applique from the green rompee so i can start shaping the hood now. Electric tealights have arrived for my lanterns and filled the forms in for the hall. Dad is now working on the fonts for the invites.ive watched a lot if youtube sugarpaste stuff too getting sidetracked.

Now im gonna have to do the obligatory tower cake arent i. Think im gonna have to learn to scuplt ricecrispie treats?

stealthsquiggle · 25/09/2012 23:53

Gah. As if to prove that I am way too tired for sewing, I just wrote a long post and lost it.

Focus on scaffolding for cake. That will take your mind off creepy things.

No word of a lie dd1 just had a nightmare screaming out in the dark. I couldnt rush in cos i nearly had a heart attack i swear.

Blatherskite · 26/09/2012 08:17

Right, both kids are at school/preschool this morning and I am going to get round to posting your peg dolly DW. I am useless at the moment. Constantly tired. Got a few days where life is going to get in the way of running and I'm actually quite pleased

Tinkerisdead · 26/09/2012 12:49

Get in the way of running?!! As in jogging?!! For fun?!! Nope. Does not compute.

Blatherskite · 26/09/2012 13:32

No, running DW :) Doing at least 15k a week at the moment as I've joined a running club. Did 6k in the rain last night :)

Dolly is in the post. She should be with you tomorrow

stealthsquiggle · 26/09/2012 14:30

I'm with DW on the non-conjunction of the words "run" and "fun" - even in the long distant days when I was fit I hated running.

How is your rainbow dolly going, Blathers?

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 26/09/2012 14:53

I never said it was fun. It is helping me keep all that weight I lost off though and I don't hate it so....

Rainbow dolly has stalled a bit. Might start her dress tonight

Tinkerisdead · 26/09/2012 15:22

I've had my heart scan today and the woman was having a right laugh. She said all looks fine but i'm meant to wait for the doctor so i should start a health kick really. Lose my baby weight.... Ooooor eat malteasers.

Maltesers.

Can't wait for my dolly but you need to stop me rushing in to paint her as ive got that christening cake, pascal costume and all the party decorations to do before i even touch on christmas!

stealthsquiggle · 26/09/2012 22:55

in haste, because I have been sewing and am now off to bed, but I wanted to say good that the scan went well. Night all.

Tinkerisdead · 27/09/2012 19:11

Postman has been..

He brought purple bunting, purple tablecloths, yellow streamers for rapunzel hair, black plastic plates to make the infamous frying pan and......

My peg dolly!! Love you blathers xxx thank you xxx

stealthsquiggle · 27/09/2012 21:16

Where did the purple bunting come from? (I could possibly be tempted into dragon colours - which raises the question of what colour cake dragon should be)

Greedygirl · 27/09/2012 21:17

Right lovely party ladies, hello again (I came on here last year to plan DS' birthday and Halloween parties, spent waaaaaay too much time looking at pictures of rainbow themed parties, froze a hand in a rubber glove for Halloween and then popped off again!), I'm impressed that you are still here.

I need help with DS' next birthday party - no. 5! He wants a superhero party. Has this already been discussed? If so, I'll read through the thread. If not, any ideas for a low-effort party for lots of girls and boys (prob going to hire a hall)?

stealthsquiggle · 27/09/2012 21:31

I don't think we have "done" superheroes. First thing to establish with DS - do they want to train to be superheroes, or just be? (I may have made that mistake with astronauts)
