OuchPassVodka · 23/09/2010 09:30

bugger it was out of school unifrom today and have sent ds in in school uniform. Little toad was a complete pain in the ass to get dressed in the firsty place. Am in too minds as to whether to take clothes in for him. Sigh.

Tough - he should have reminded me yesterday/not been such a pain about getting up
Nice - he really doesnt need to give the bulley a reason to pick on him

Alicetheinvisible · 23/09/2010 10:26

Hello Smile

Internet broke here yesterday, man coming out monday to fix it, but this morning it is back on again.

Hope everyone is good.

Nothing exciting here really, potty training is rubbish, definitely the most stressful part of parenting so far, F has caught my cold and is miserable with it Sad and i had to have words with DH last night.

But things always seem easier when the baby is asleep and the toddler is watching Mr Tumble and i have internet again Grin

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 10:53

Alice! :)

What is the word for a bigger chlid?

baby toddler something probably something else pre-teen teenager real person

OuchPassVodka · 23/09/2010 11:04

pre-schooler, school aged i think trills.

Alice lovely take it easy.

With regards to potty training I bribed ds and didnt use pull ups, but fabric pant with plastic lining. messier but i think he felt more uncomfortable when wet so it was more of an insentive to use his potty, and slightly less messy then normal pants.

Alice how old is Daisy? I could be way off the mark here & feel free to tell me to fuck off but maybe she's a bit too young just yet? Did your card arrive ok btw?

Blimey we're being inundated with Royalty of late Grin

Gigantaur · 23/09/2010 11:58

there was a cull?

hello all.

Just popped on to say another thank you for all my lovely birthday wishes.
George and I had a lovely birthday. He was very pleased with his pressies after all that anticipation. he then got to have a great time at pizza hut. we said as he was a big boy now and because he is now into double figures he could have a slightly later bedtime. he can now stay up to the devestatingly late time of.....8:15!
he was over the moon bless him.

Some more good news, My mum just rang. My little brother (well one of hem, there's a few. this is the 14 year old) has just been nominated by the surrey and sussex police to recieve a youth award for his contribution to the community.
we are all so chuffed for him. Where we live is a right hell hole and a lot of the kids round here end up with asbo's and prison terms. so for him to have bucked the trend and rather than get involved with that he has concentrated on trying to make the area a better place for kids his age.
We wont know if he has actually won for quite a while but even to be nominated is a huge achievment.

so very proud big sister.

now whats all this talk of porn.
Im still not allowed to be getting any so porn is not allowed. all i have to do is look at a banana and i go all funny at the moment

Alicetheinvisible · 23/09/2010 11:59

Hey Norma Smile postie's been but i haven't checked yet - i am in my nursing chair Blush
D is 3 in 6weeks, she knows when she is going and has asked to wear knickers/use the toilet etc. I am finding it stressful not because of the accidents (inevitable) but because i have to be constantly on her case the whole time about reminding her etc, and i struggle not to get cross when i have asked her if she needs to go (several times) she ignores me, then has an accident. We have tried easing into it a couple of times but it only works while she is interested, then back into nappies. This time it is bootcamp! To be fair, no accidents yet tis morning and she took herself to the potty wen she needed to, i am just very good at lazy parenting Grin

Planning on going to Ikea saturday evening, am i mad?

Alicetheinvisible · 23/09/2010 12:01

Gigi - yay for your brother, that really is huge Smile

Gigantaur · 23/09/2010 12:13

saturdays at ikea in general are a bad idea but the evenings are usually a lot better.

Potty training is hard. Ds was almost 5 and i got to the stage where i alost concluded he would be in nappies forever.
DD pretty much just clicked over night. I tried potty training for a couple of weeks but she wasn't interested, then a few months later she just seemed to do it by herself.
maybe this time she is ready in herself and will pick it up easier.

thanks, he doesn't know yet as he is at school. We cant wait to tell him Grin

Jaquelinehyde · 23/09/2010 12:19

Just caught up with the last 24hrs and all I got from it really was Porn, Ipods and that Mr Bella has turned into a sex pest. Grin

What a bunch of techno pervs you all are.

Gigi congratulations for your little brother, that really is an achievement for him.

Mittz sorry about the situation with your Mum and Dad. What a nightmare, I hope it resolves how you want it to.

Fanny I hope this weekend goes smoothly for you.

I have been to the Drs today to have my implanin removed and replaced with a new one for the next 3 years. It was bloody agony! The Dr said the old one had been buried so deep in my arm he couldn't get it out properly and so had to have a proper dig around for it and it hurt! Oh well at least it is done.

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 12:36

Well done to Gigi's brother :)

Sounds very annoying Alice, no fun at all. But eventually (soon hopefully) you'll be down to just one lot of nappies to deal with.

Lizzylou · 23/09/2010 12:40

Well done to your brother, Gigi, that is such an achievement, you are rightly proud Smile

Alice, hope it goes OK today, in a few weeks time it will all seem a distant dream...

Och Jaq, bet that bloody hurt.

Have to get motivated, have done lots, but in a halfhearted, Kevin and Perry "Misss Patterson" manner, I am just so lacking in enthusiasm at the moment.

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 12:45

What has he done to get the award?

We have a certificate on the wall (well in fact in a bag, but it should be on the wall) from where DP and some friends ran down and tackled a mugger who had taken an old lady's handbag, then stood around him until the police came.

NormaSknockers · 23/09/2010 12:52

Sorry Alice for some reason I thought DD had only just turned 2 Blush I don't envy you at all, no easy task & I hear boys are even harder

Aww Gigi that's lovely about your brother Grin

Ouch Jaq that doesn't sound much fun at all, ow!

Lizzy are they jobs that have to be done today?

Trills sorry can you link me that cash back site thingy jig again please? Blush

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 12:56

topcashback :)

VinegarTits · 23/09/2010 12:58

helloooooo

well done to your little bro gigi, he sounds amazing!

Alice potty training is a pita but one day you will wake up to find she has just 'got it' and you will forget what all the fuss was about

Grin and the pervy hooded claw, how could you think i would do such a thoing Shock it had to be bof

Gigantaur · 23/09/2010 13:00

nothing specific.

the awards are for people under 25 who have made a difference to the community.

The police have nominated him as he is involved in pretty mucy every aspect of youth project in our town. He volunteers at the local youth centre almost every night and has set up a couple of projects. He has applied for grants and funding for a couple of thinsg for the centre and won the money.

he also goes to sea cadets and he has helped at a couple of charity events with them too.

He does it as he enjoys it and so this will come as a total shock to him. He is usually just my irritating little brother but he does do a lot for the community and i am really pleased for him that that has been noticed.

He will be bowled over when we tell him.
The police had to ring and ask permission before they were allowed to nominate him as he's only 14. He has quite severe dyslexia too so it makes his achievments even greater as it helps boost his confidence. The grants he applied for took a lot of reading and writing and information gathering so for him to get the money was a big deal for him.

aww im getting all emotional. Grin

NormaSknockers · 23/09/2010 13:29

Thanks Trills, I'm signed up (hope you get your £2.50 for that Grin) just have to remember to click it through now! Is is really as simple (& safe) as that?

Aww Gigu your brother sounds like a really lovely lad & you sound every inch the proud big sister Grin

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 13:39

Totally simple. So far seems totally safe. Apparently I have claimed a total of £144 from it, and I have £9.83 waiting for me that they can send :)

NormaSknockers · 23/09/2010 13:42

When you say claimed you mean you made £144 in cash back from it? I say something about Paypal so assuming you can just have any money you make sent to Paypal?

Just book a book from Play.com by clicking through so we'll see if it worked or not :)

TrillianAstra · 23/09/2010 14:05

Yes I've made £144 apparently. I have it sent straight to my bank account.

NormaSknockers · 23/09/2010 14:08

I best get spending then!

hellsbelles · 23/09/2010 14:43

do we reckon Bella is busy shagging?

I have just baked a batch of choc chip biscuits. Last time I used the recipe they were totally delicious. This time something has gone very wrong. I think I may have jinxed it by my very proximity (I have my period) - that is an insane theory isn't it?

Gigi - blimey - that is amazing for your brother.

Just viewed a house today that DH loves and I'm o.k. with ...will mean we cannot spend another penny...EVER...if we buy it.
