Jet - my skates come with about 5m of lace that has to be tied in a certain configeration so that it is done right. Be aware it might be tricky. You can get lace hooks to help but it is hard to get it right Also skating works on step sequences which are linked together so that you might get a routine that goes:

Left, right, crossover, mowhawk, back cross right, back cross right, step forward, cherry flip jump, step forward, left crossover, left crossover, inside left 3-turn, left back cross over, left back cross over, forward inside cross toe spin.

Basically the same issue of routine. once you can do it you must be able to string it. the above would take less then 30seconds to complete. As long as she is aware that once she can do the moves she is expected to group them together in sequences then she should be ok.

Now all I need to do is relead the forward inside cross toe spin. ie spinning on my right foot in a clockwise direction with my feet crossed. Hmm

ds has been shit today. murder was tempting. Instead he is not going to his dad's next week unless i have had significant progress. There were no more priveledges to take away Sad and he has spent most of the day in his room. I am fed up of this as the result of him having no boundaries on his behaviour when he is not with me.

bellavita · 29/08/2010 19:56

Oh I remember - Lizzy went to her PIL's place in Ingleton, it fits in now why she hasn't posted.

Crispy, my hair colour is just like it was in June, and the back is a little shorter. So really not much change. I bet you were great doing the Best Woman's speech.

Have just been on my hands and knees (my operated knee did not like it), I washed the kitchen floor the old fashioned way as I am sure that the vileda mop doesn't get it clean. The blummin muck that came off the floor was disgraceful Blush

MuckyDucky · 29/08/2010 19:57

Jet;
try this
or
this

both are very basic skates ok for the very beginner. both are lace ups though. bugger to relace but might be easier then the clips that you get with skate hire.

CrispyTheCrisp · 29/08/2010 21:03

Thanks all. I think the fact i had had no choice, had drunk plenty and have loads of lovely stories about him made it easier. Just missed off loads of stuff so would have been nice to have been better prepared.

Hells, i imagine you would be fab. You all would Grin. Oh, and i agree with jet, your Paris photo's were amazing Smile

Mucky - sounds like a nightmare for you to have to deal with alone Sad. Also the fact that the 'punishment' means that you have to get to deal with it more seems even crueller. Hope you get a few stress free hours this evening

jetcat · 29/08/2010 21:23

thanks mucky, much sympathy for having to deal with issues re boundaries with ex. Mine have come back tonight much later than they should of, their grandad game them chocolates which have actual booze in, and junior has a tatoo that wont come off for 7 days. She is back at school in 3, and knows she shouldnt have got it - so she is in big trouble. Ex got me so stressed i spilt a tin of paint on the bedroom carpetSad

Sorry, was supposed to showing sympathy for youBlush Hope you have a peaceful rest of the nightSmile

those skates look great - and not too expensiveGrin I guess she would need to try them on though, so santa cant really bring themHmm

Hells - i too thought you would be a master of public speakingGrin

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 22:30

Just uploading some pics to Facebook - DP has taken his laptop apart and I just hope nothing untoward happens while it is in bits.

Watched 'The Men Who Stare at Goats', which was ok, I was shocked at how old Robert Patrick is now!

VinegarTits · 29/08/2010 22:44

the men who stare at goats, sounds slightly bizarre, is it like animal porn?

TrillianAstra · 29/08/2010 22:51

Haha, no, that's not really my thing, it's about a reporter talking to someone who was in an experimental thingy in the US army in the 70s and 80s where they tried to train a group of soldiers in psychic hippy stuff. They tried to kill goats with their minds. Ewan MacGregor and George Clooney (if you like moustaches).

wastingaway · 29/08/2010 23:15

Hello. I have not caught up. I missed you all, but I've been talking to flesh and blood people in the flesh, and drinking etc. all weekend. Feels good. Grin

Hope everyone is well and I'll try and catch up asap.

YanknCock · 30/08/2010 00:56

hello ladies, i am fucking sick of this RSI no-typing thing. GP gave me two more weeks off and referral to physio. It has helped staying off the computer, but I am bored.

Am thinking of turning up for the Christmas meet up. I could try to convince my friend who recruited me to MN to go and see if I can crash at hers in north London. Or take the train back to the inlaws near Chingford? Ugh, the thought of waking up in inlaws living room with even the slightest of hangovers fills me with dread!

Am off too bed, up too late as usual.

Hope you're all well!

mittz · 30/08/2010 07:39

Appropro to not a lot.. I love those pictures of Goats standing in trees. That is the kind of thing that just makes me smile.

Yank.. you are missed lady, but glad you are healing.

Glad your Best friends wedding was fab and woohoo on speach Crispy.

How are you today Hells.. ?

Sad and Angry at wnacky exes. Suspect mine had been drinking last night.

I am on a quest for tea.

I am thinking of getting bone china cups and saucers, I am creating little rituals and just like taking a cup of tea back to it's elegant roots. Smile

Morning all

had a lovely lie in and the finnster is very proud of himself for sleeping in his own bed all night and waking up dry Grin

Yank it would be fab to see you at the christmas meet, we could travel down together? as im not far from you, i havent decided yet if im driving or getting the train, which ever is the cheaper option i think

hello mittz i love tea in china cups Grin

real flesh and blood people wasting? Shock Grin

bellavita · 30/08/2010 09:23

Morning >

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaank, hello Smile. Did you get my holiday txt? Thought it might cheer you up. It would be really really fabulous to see you at the mn meet, please say you will come.

Vinny, I will go on the train - I do not fancy driving back the next day with a hangover... You need to remember about congestion charges and the cost to park in London when weighing up the cost of train tickets. Geat that you got a lie in and big kisses to the Finnster for his own bed and being dry - yay!

Wasting, sounds like you had a great weekend.

Trills, have just been looking at your pics. The cakes look really nice. What a lovely idea for a birthday.

Mittz, tea is nice drunk out of proper china cups. I have a lovely set up in the loft that belonged to my Grandma.

jetcat · 30/08/2010 09:37

Big kisses and helloooooos for YankGrin

and big hoorays for finnster sleeping in his own bed, and a dry one at that! Well done little manSmile

NormaSknockers · 30/08/2010 09:50

Hello you lovely lot,

I absolutely love the title, fantastic! We watch Nemo a lot in this house 'cause it keeps me the DC entertained Grin

So, what have I missed?

bellavita · 30/08/2010 10:24

Hello lovely Norma Smile, you looked gorgeous on your pics as did your little ones.

Shiney seems to be AWOL. She has ignored my txts and my fb chat message last night >

NormaSknockers · 30/08/2010 10:36

Aww thank you Bella, span are the best thing ever invented IMO Grin Wink

Oh dear, is Shiney ok?

bellavita · 30/08/2010 10:41

I am sure she is ok. But she is usually pretty rubbish good at txting back Grin. It is her gramps funeral on Thursday so she has a lot on her plate Sad

NormaSknockers · 30/08/2010 10:43

Poor Shiney :(

TrillianAstra · 30/08/2010 11:19

Morning all. Yay for a non-work Monday :)

Shal we bombard the Shiney one with texts to keep her mind occupied?

bellavita · 30/08/2010 11:22

Soumds good Trills, I have already sent one today.

TrillianAstra · 30/08/2010 12:02

I have spotted BoF around, why is she not posting here anymore? I shall have to lure her in with a cunning plan.

TrillianAstra · 30/08/2010 12:18

Have you heard there is going to be more Sherlock in the autumn?

Autumn 2011.

Two thousand and eleven!

NormaSknockers · 30/08/2010 12:31

Shall we grab BOF & drag her back?

I'm finally dressed but still sitting on my fat bum, really should do something productive....

bellavita · 30/08/2010 12:41

That Shiney is a right old cheeky mare!!

She rang my phone (which was downstairs and I was upstairs hoovering), Jack didn't think to answer it - just ran upstairs and said Julia had called. She left a message and said "Hi, just ringing to catch up and you are obviously not there to take my call, arse!". This is after my two attempts of txting yesterday and today and a fb chat to her last night which she ignored!

Yes, why isn't BoF posting here?

Have just eaten a tuna salad with olives, feta and a quartered boiled egg that was still a little runny in the middle.

We are being subjected to Eminem - DS1 must know the songs backwards by now he has played them that much.

I have yet to get the bolognaise on for tonights tea and I need to make some scones.
