Shock hate to break it to you shiney a mac is not a pc. it is a mac. whole different better thing imo.

Although it is fun getting around microsoft's wish of how you use their program with code. run macro...

It is a PC, a MAC is a personal computer - short for IBM PC Compatible.

MuckyDucky · 31/08/2010 22:42

Yes but generally a PC is the term used to describe a computer that uses a windows operating system, where as a mac has an operating system that works, with less effort and memory zapping.

Evening all

Grin I have reached my goal WW weight Grin

Went this evening and got a big gold envelope and a goldcard, so no more paying which is rather fab Grin

Would like to lose another half stone, tbh, but it's a definite 'would like' rather than 'must have'.

Envy at macbooks and ipads.

bellavita · 01/09/2010 06:18

DIIIIIIIIIIIB Smile, hello

What a great feeling that must be to reach your goal weight. Fantastic! Well done.

First day back at work, although it is a training day so no children in. Expect it to be rather busy though with parents coming in for uniform.

DH will drop DS2 at my parents on his way to work (they are bringing him back on Sat) and I have asked DS1 to tidy round, hoover and make sure all the toilets are flushed (boys have a habit of not flushing, yuk,) and his reply to me was "is this something you normally do during the day mum?" I was not very polite to him I am afraid. I had a bit of rant and told him exactly what I did before and after work. I doubt he wll question it again! Grin

Today is a new day, yogga brekka again and I have made two day's worth of a ww cous cous salad thingy which is about 2.5 points per serving for lunch. Chicken salad for tea.

CrispyTheCrisp · 01/09/2010 06:53

Morning Bella Smile

Beautiful start to the day here SmileSmile

Went out for a lovely drink with MyCat last night and it was lovely just to kick back and natter about nothing and everything. She says hi to everyone BTW Smile
Off out to Bath today to meet a friend and Wagamama's for lunch

Hope work ok today Bella and no abusive parents on the first day Hmm. Good training on the DS1 front, your future DIL will be thanking you i'm sure.

Shiney - Big decision, but i reckon for the best as you never seemed happy with the job. Something will come along i'm sure. Play hardball with the nursery, they take the biscuit with 2 months notice, especially if there are waiting lists and they will fill the place straight away

DIB, hurrah, hurrah for you Smile. Well done. Will i not recognise you on Fri? Wink

Mucky, i hope things have calmed down for you with DS?

mittz · 01/09/2010 07:16

Shiney..in the nicest possible way I am completely Envy of your taking a year 'off'. That is something I dream of!

No opinion on PC's and MacBooks, except go for it before you finish. I did like Trills saying ''Shiney did you see the thread on pedlars ( a website, not actual peple who go around with a horse-drawn cart selling stuff). I think you'd like them. They charge more for everything.''

JuJu I guess you are naturally desirable and don't have to be prettied up Wink

DiB.. THAT IS FANTASTIC.!! WoooooHoooo, and you are sooo beautiful, a goddess on this planet

I had lost 3lb when I weighed myself and then came on 6 days early so not sure if that included bloating. God knows with my body these days. I don't think you get my boobalooba and nipple updates on this thread but they have morphed into independent life forms and are worthy of their own news flashes!!

A company has taken a £90 payment out of my account 3 times. FFS. My patience is not at it's best..........

I need to bathe in Chamomile tea and eat copious quantities of lettuce.....

i didnt sleep a wink, nervous about the finnster's first day at school

is it compulsory at 4? he is too little for proper school damn it, i want him to be little for one more year, once they start school you blink and then they are 21!

mittz · 01/09/2010 08:24

Awwww..Vinny (( )) xx Treat yourself today, can you see a friend for coffee or your folks or Gran?

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 01/09/2010 08:27

Morning all,

DIB that is bloody brilliant, well done you, you must be thrilled Grin

Vinny does DS2 start today or tomorrow? I think I will be wide awake tonight at the same prospect! Good luck for the Finnster, is he excited?

Shiney hope you get somewhere with the nursery, what's the worst they can do, not like they'll drag you court over it would be far to costly & pointless.

Mittz OMG, get onto your bank straight away they'll be able to call back 2 of them for you (maybe even the 3rd if that's wrong too)

Gained 1lb this week, actually ok with it as less then I thought Grin

TrillianAstra · 01/09/2010 08:56

I bet the Finnster will love it Vinny.

PC = proper computer. Mac = arty farty computer.

DreamsInBinary · 01/09/2010 09:03

Morning

Thank you! I am very pleased and was oddly chuffed to get my gold coloured envelope and gold coloured card and gold keyring charm. Gotta love gold.

I think you are doing the right thing about work, Shiney, FWIW. You have never liked the job and you can get something you are more suited to once the boy is in school. As for two month's notice - ridiculous. Of course, if the admin is as bad as all the other nurseries I know, you can just tell them you've paid and they will never know any different.

DreamsInBinary · 01/09/2010 09:06

Vinny - my heart goes out to you. Please tell me it went well, otherwise I will spend the next six days weeping until it is my turn.

On the plus side - think of all that money Grin Only one set of nursery fees for me to pay after Thursday...]

Bella - hope you enjoy your first day back and that they don't give you too much. Still, work far easier than home, I reckon.

MuckyDucky · 01/09/2010 09:12

Congratulations DIB!!!!

Morning all by the way.

hope your day isnt too busy bella. although did Grin @ you putting ds1 in his place Grin

Mittz - can you sort the company and money out easily?

Vinny - bless you. No school is not compulsory until they are 5. if his birthday is in august you could keep him ome another year. I do know people who have chosen to do this although they did have to fight the local council with a lot of strongly worded letters.

ds is being a saint this morning and normality restored Hmm fuck knows how the result of the behaviour is going to be sorted or when i get to sort the mending pile but he is currently being very helpful, and pleasant and cheerful and happy. Hmm weird child.

wastingaway · 01/09/2010 09:15

PC = Piece of Crap.
Only admin had PCs at college. Yes, arty farty college. Grin
Love my Macbook. Grin

Shiney, I think a year off is a good idea. Give you time to get over shitty job and get some idea of what to do next. Smile And talk to us more. Grin

DIB, well done! How exciting!

I did try reading back, but there are only so many hours in the day! Grin

Me and DS have got a poorly cold, but I've been being productive the last couple days after the awesome weekend I had. Smile

NormaSknockers · 01/09/2010 09:23

I feel like I'm missing out by not really getting the MAC thing Hmm

VinegarTits · 01/09/2010 09:27

just dropped him off, he was fine and his teacher seems lovely, he looked a little bit bewildered and grabbed my hand as i was saying goodbye, but no tears (well apart from me)

well done on your glad DIB, no more WW fees is fab Grin and yes i am feeling the benefit of not paying full nursery fees already! i spent £200 on clothes this month i havent done that in years! Shock Grin

VinegarTits · 01/09/2010 09:28

oh fuck i mean your gold not with it this morning Grin

DreamsInBinary · 01/09/2010 09:35

Oh clever Finn Smile

He is so beautiful that all the girls will want him to be their Prince in games, and the teachers will not be able to resist him. And he will become King among boys because - hey - they might see this hand but they won't see this one Grin
