Jenny - I gave olives to dd again last night and lo and behold a huge clearout today. 3rd poo! Really stinky stuff that wouldn't have seen the light of day for ages yet. Yak.

Give them a try. Black ones. They are The business.

Hi everyone, just popping on to new thread for a quick read and to update you all. We had dt2's cardiac appointment on monday (he has a murmur) and consultant said that it has now developed into Arterial Stenosis so dt2 will need surgery . We find out tomorrow how much surgery and what type but it will be in the next month, so I may not be around much but I didn't want you all to think I had deserted you. I have been posting about it all on the multiples thread but won't go into detail here if that's OK.

On a lighter note, our WNOS arrived yesterday which cheered me up, they are so lovely and I'm very pleased with them. I will get some pics of them when I get a moment and stick them on my profile for you all to see.

mumface, loving the bitti brites, not sure which one I'd choose.

myjob, love your WNOS what a good choice. Your dc are so cute in their flongies.

Still like our flips here. dts have been in them all day again. I like the organic cotton inserts the best. dts did a massive sleep in their buggy earlier (4 hours +) and they didn't leak at all.

Hi Bagpuss, Good Luck for your little one. I have taught a family - 5 children and 4 of them have Aortic Stenosis. One of them has i quite serioulsy and is used as his Consutlant to teach other doctors - he gets £50 every time he is used as a "specimen". Sorry, going off track. But all of these kids have been fine, and you wouldn't know that anything is wrong - join in PE lessons fine etc etc. In fact the one who is "worst" is a right little and has an ASBO for his behaviour in teh village - smashing church windows, climbing onto the roof of the village hall etc etc etc etc.
Hopefully your LO will be as fit.

bagpuss · 27/01/2010 20:10

Thanks, myjob and Sal. Sal I meant to type Aortic Stenosis my brain is so confused at the moment. It is a particularly familiar situation for us as ds1 had Transposition of the Great Arteries as a newborn and so I know exactly what to expect re: surgery . ds1 is fine now though and can also be a right little ** at times .

Babybots · 27/01/2010 20:47

Hiya just popped in quick to catch up.

Bagpuss my heart goes out to you and your little one.

Unfortunately I have also had experiences of ASD's and VSD's and and lots of other heart related issues that I wish I didn't know about. We were not so lucky. A long story I won't go into here either but I just wanted to send my best wishes to you all. As you already know they can work wonders these days and the children bounce back so well after opps and its better diagnosed and sorted now before it causes irreversible damage.

Right on the age front i'm 28 and now feel old! lol lol lol

Right im off for a glass of wine now!

octothechildherder · 27/01/2010 20:50

Bagpuss - hope all all goes well with dt2's surgery I am waiting on cardio results atm as my heart doesn't work quite right! In fact am putting off ringing them - will do tomorrow!

Busy, manic and super manic here - met up with a great old friend today in Bath and did some girly shopping and had lunch. Then a customer came round with the cutest little 5 week old ever to pick up some stuff, now dh home so off to spend some quality time together.

Happy days

Busy day tomorrow too ...

octothechildherder · 27/01/2010 20:51

x post Babybots ((((hugs))))

octothechildherder · 27/01/2010 20:52

(I am not a huggy person normally lol)

Babybots · 27/01/2010 21:00

lol Octo thank you!

treedelivery · 27/01/2010 21:05

Oh Bagpuss. All will be well. I'm sorry to hear the news though.

Just bury yourself in fluff.

octo - stout heart mrs. I had one of those tape things. My heart goes like the clappers and it's no big deal. So maybe you will get no news/good news like I did.

4andnotout · 27/01/2010 21:43

Bagpuss - lots of love, hugs and positive vibes coming your way.

I had one of those 24hour tapes when I was pg with dd2, when they ripped the pads off my chest I had bright red circles for about a week

Dp off for GTT tommorow, he is just looking forward to the luxozade and hoping it won't be intraveniously like my mum had!

I really have to list all the cot bedding and sleeping bags tommorow as I have a room full which are never going to get used and would free up valuable fluff/pushchair accessory cash.

tree: Yes, I've just discovered black olives too! LOL AMAZING! Far better than laxatives! I first discovered it after Clement ate a couple of slices from his pizza, and then had a full turn out the next morning. Then a week later, (as I make homemade pizza once a week) it happened again - so I slipped some into Benjamin (as he tries to pull the olives off his pizza! ) and it had the same effect! So I'm going to make sure they have a dose of olives at least once a week or maybe twice, and there will be no more problems with constipation! Maybe Abigail never has problems with it because she loves olives!

Speaking of birthdays and presents, I'll be 28 on the 9th of Feb (so me & 4 are very similar in age! ) and Benjamin was telling me today what he wants to get me for my birthday .... a toy airplane! LOL Not quite as exciting as a nappy, mind!

bagpuss: hope all goes well for your little one!

Babybots: So far with suedecloth I've found are: BG, GreenKids, a few of the older Wonderoos (more of the ones under Wonderworks, though there are plenty of fleece ones about), and PocketBots v2. I always hated PocketBots (esp as cotton outer ones were rubbish) but we've got a new style v2 one and it's quite impressive - a lovely fit too! Just quite narrow for stuffing. I'm sure there are other brands about, esp wahm ones from America, as it seems suedecloth is used there more often than here in UK. Another thing I've done is buy a metre of suedecloth (I got some from Nappydashery) and cut liners from it, so now I can use the odd fitteds on Clement without problems!
