Pregnancy did not agree with me at all either, and child birth was quite horrific! I'd happily have 10 kids if they were handed to me newly born, but think maybe one more and I'm done as not a fan of baking them myself! (and watching One Born Every Minute does not help! horrific but I cant turn it off!!)

myjobismum we took LO camping when he was 3.5mths but that was a whole different kettle of fish as he was immobile and still fit in a snuggle nest, also the only food he needed was BM LOL so easy peasy.
We're planning on taking him to camp bestival this year and are looking forward to it even though I expect it to be a bit more challenging than last time!
The main things IMO are to make sure they are well insulated underneath and I think with a toddler a tent high enough so the zip is out of reach incase they wake before you and try to make a run for it!
I would worry about a 'proper' travel cot damaging the ground sheet.

We have taken ours all camping and have done it both ways - have taken the small tent and all squeezed in next to eachtoher and the big tent where we got a pod each!! We now also have a medium size tent

We have booked in 4 weekends to go camping this year - not doing longer holidays anymore as kept getting washed out by rain and also I like being clean ....

Have sicky bug but not been sick yet - have ventured into making a cup of coffee - okay atm!! ....

Myjob - we have a gelert horizon and really like it, although we haven't camped in it yet! Loads of space in it. Went last year and Elouise was 16 months and talia was newborn and all was fine! The fresh air, early mornings and late nights help the sleep situation!

octothechildherder · 10/03/2010 16:26

nooooooooooooo lol not morning sickness

was feeling a bit better but feel queasy - haven't felt as ill as I did in the night but in the night you tend to focus on it lol

Have you seen Jabulas new revamp of her site - she will be called Jabulababy from now on too.

Off to do ironing - have only done it once since mid december after adopting the fold and smoothe technique!

cheeksandcherries · 10/03/2010 18:05

Urk - i hate ms too... although only get it for first 4 mo. usually. That is long enough though...
And only just got the hang of the birthing thang though, 3rd time out... sort of liked it that time, at home and all that. Sigh... can't go there again though. Really.

Myjob... we don't have a great tent to shout about, but we got one of those Nomad baby travel cot/tent things for our LO, and it's kind of groovy. Gets good reviews here on the MN product reviews too... can zip them in and they are all cosy in their own little tent arrangement!

Octo - hope you are feeling better soon !

salbysea · 10/03/2010 19:32

Myjob, do you have discovery home and health channel, there's LOADS of one born every min type programs on there, I was addicted to the one based in the new forest birth centre and the 'deliver me' one based in america when I was pregnant!

Myjob, here is a link to my tent Quechua 4.2 seconds base. We spent 3 weeks in it in france last year and loved every minute. It has two bedrooms so we have a double airbed in each and i share one double with dd1 and dd4, dd4 sleeps next to me and dd1 tops and tails, we take a thick blanket to lay on and then a mummy bag for dd1 and a double for me and dd4. Dp and dd2 and dd3 sleep in the other bedroom in the same arrangement. We haven't used travel cots as we camp from early in the season and it would be too cold without the body heat of sharing a bed.

I have been really lucky with my pregnancies and never really suffered with morning sickness, the only symptom i had was lack of periods, i ended up with SPD with 2,3 &4 but it vanished as soon as i delivered. Still a bit broody but im hoping to start the cambridge diet next month as i need to lose a lot of weight, so going to try and do that before October.

I haven't had any fluffy post recently, i seem to be voluntarily on the wagon Being skint doesn't help tho!

I see you have some very cute models on your website Octo! Connor also starring on Jabulas website I should get an agent for them

LackaDAISYcal · 10/03/2010 23:13

I am not buying as paypal have suspended my account the fecking tossers

tis my own fault in a round about way, but only cos their tick box form was a load of old shite and forced me into ticking a business type even though I had already ticked that I was an individual and NOT a business....perhaps non-profit wasn't the one to tick though, as they now think I am a sodding charity (I wish, lol )

mump and moan over....

off to catch up

octothechildherder · 11/03/2010 06:58

lol paypal do that - when I signed up for a terminal with them they suspended mine while they checked the wording on my website - no warning or anything! I needed to change the wording on one sentence.

Glad you like the piccies - 4 still cant open yours you sent.

I am thinking about selling my big dome tent - is a montpelier 9 for £100 if anyone interested email me! We are only doing 'small' weekend camping this year.

Babybots · 11/03/2010 08:29

Hiya all (creeps back in after long time awol)

Hope you are all well!

Gosh all this baby talk, i need a pink bundle too! I love being pregnant but the birth scares the S**t out of me, but then had 2 not so nice ones so that could be forgiven i guess. Cant wait to be able to do NB fluff properly now i know what im doing and what will work! hmmm maybe soon

Oooooh Tents... We are looking for another one for summer. Had Ds in airbed next to me last year, ended up in with me most of the time though.

Octo Paypal are a pain in the arse! Did the same to me last week with VT hope you are feeling better.

Right i've a day planned of doing nothing and going know where except post office!

Be back later

QueenofDreams · 11/03/2010 08:39

hi again ladies. RL keeps getting in the way of mn.

DS in dispos again due to teething/nappy rash/flaking off skin etc. Need to sell a few of his nappies to fund some greenkids ones to trial.
hope everyone else is ok and the fluff is working well for you

JABULA · 11/03/2010 11:06

4 - I've got one of those night feeders too

Both of us stuck here with huge colds today. Feeling yuk

Congrats to you myjob jealous

QueenofDreams · 11/03/2010 13:06

Jabula I'm sitting in bed with laptop and soup. I'm ill too. And DS threw up all over his cot last night, so he's not on top form either.
Can I ask how you got your nickname? It's a very familiar word to me. Just wandering if you're from the same part of the world as me.

JennyPenny22 · 11/03/2010 14:08

Queenofdreams - My DC and I have had the bug too. Unfortunatly it was the worse possible timing for us as we had to get a house sorted so poor Dc were dragged out and I had to spend the day driving to different houses!

Getting frustrated as Talia wont sleep meaning I will have her down here while Elouise is asleep and then when Elouise wakes up, Talia will go to sleep, so nothing will get done, and Talia will be late to bed! Have so much to do!

JABULA · 11/03/2010 19:49

Grrr to colds for everyone. This is a really nasty fluey type thing we've got. Went to bed shivering last night. In bed now and heading off to sleep soon...

Queenofdreams - yep, DH is from South Africa, so that is where the name Jabula comes from. It was actually going to be the name of our 3rd dog if we got one (the others are Tombi and Inja, probably also sound familiar!) ..but then decided to call the nappy business Jabula instead, lol!
