can a newbie join and share the love of my two new blueberry minkies?! pretty nappies...

I am and of some of your stashes!! Mine looks tiny in comparison.

And can I ask which you find to be the best night nappy (I have an 11 month old girl and at the mo I use an easy-peasy bambeasy with one booster, but want alternatives)?

octothechildherder · 27/02/2010 21:18

welcome catastrojb We like new fluffy people! I would suggest a pumpkin pants fleece soaker over the nappy you already have rather than another nappy. There are loads to choose from though - weenotions seem to be very popular.

I used the gro baby and loved it.

catastrojb · 27/02/2010 21:22

i'll have a look out - are they the same as fleece wraps? I use a couple of those, but find they smell a bit . I'm not new to this as have been using cloth since dd was born, but peeking at your threads tells me I know nothing of the options!

I am an itti-bitti addict though....and potentially now a blueberry one too! Love my bambeasys - bomb-proof, totally.

Do you all have favourites? (Probably been asked before, sorry....)

I thought my stash was quite restrained until I typed it all out, but it is for twins!!

Daisy, I didn't get WN either until I tried some and I have to say that they work very well, the pretty embroidery is just an added bonus .

Welcome catastrojb, of course you can come and join in . Some of the others will advise you on night nappies as I don't really use anything other than boosted day nappies as the dts are still small.

octothechildherder · 27/02/2010 21:24

yes fleece wraps - they do need washing after every wear - if they still smell they need washing without any detergent as you most likely have a build up.

My faves are fuzzis but could be swayed to buy loads - alas ds3 is now toilet trained so I just wave from the sidelines lol

bagpuss · 27/02/2010 21:27

My faves are probably tots bots and bumgenius although I'm finding it hard not to love ittis a little bit .

Don't worry Octo, you can relive your fluffy times vicariously through us .

octothechildherder · 27/02/2010 21:28

I am off to bed now Catch up soon x

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2010 21:28

twins (or two in nappies) is a good reason for a big stash bagpuss

hellloooo catastrojb (love the play on words that is your name btw ) and welcome to the mad house!

You need some woolly wraps for night time...wool rocks

I am coveting a grobaby at the minute but DH I can't justify the cost of one at the minute as we are stoney broke. I am trying to rectify that though and have a job thing tomorrow which will hopefully yield a part time job! will prolly mean working weekends and never seeing DH, but as he is being such a grumpy twunt at the minute, that's maybe not such a bad thing

LackaDAISYcal · 27/02/2010 21:40

arse, typed a long post, but lost it

favourites at the minute are bumgenius (first thing I reach for every time) closely followed by fuzzis but I must admit my preference have been different depending on which baby and the age of said baby.

Newborn nappies would be a toss up between diddy diapers and bimbles

Not newborn, but not yet crawling would have to be Totsbots (any two part nappy) with a Tots wrap.

On that note though, if you could only have ONE nappy in your stash what would it be?????

I need to think about that one a bit....

bagpuss · 27/02/2010 21:45

The new tots nappies would be mine I think because they would cover every stage of nappying although you would need loads as they take an age to dry.

catastrojb · 27/02/2010 21:59

LackaDAISYcal thank you for the name compliment! It kind of amused me when I came up with it....

Don't you have to do all sorts of faffy things with wool wraps? I hear scary things about lanolinising them - is it worth the extra time? I'd love some longies for dd though, I think she's look very cute! I can't wait for summer so I can set her off in nothing but her ittis...

Went to Karoake last night which was fun, got to bed at 2am then Till-Grace decided to get up at 5.45am

Dp and dad are going to replace the fan belt today and then we are going over to mum and dads for a pasta bake tea, yummity.

Right i'd really better get dressed and get the girls dressed!

CharlottesClan · 28/02/2010 12:01

ah yes octo do need some fleece, but it always leaked for ellen so havent bothered with charlie. i was thinking i might like some fleece trousers tho.. lol

bit about the MF wetbags.. i have three.. did i misunderstand?

i must say my small MF wetbag is SO useful, it fits all my wipes in it and the spray bottle too. i wasnt using the washable wipes much b4 cos of the faff of finding them and then the bottle of spray stuff. now am using it all the time

i really need to find a new changing bag. my huge tote bag no longer nessescery, as not bringing 2 childrens worth out with me anymore!

at some of the stashes, but DH is dead pleased to see i only have a mediumish stash in comparison!

bagpuss · 28/02/2010 12:54

I am worrying that my stash is too big now . CC I would recommend the Skip Hop bags if you have a bit of money to spend on one. I have just had to replace my bag for the dts (was faulty) and bought a Skip Hop instead which is so lovely and roomy with such clever features. Mine is a specially for twins one and fits across the double buggy we have but the single ones are really nice too (had one for ds2) and I used to get a fair bit in it for him without it being bulky. I also have one of their pronto mats which we tend to use along with dh's karrimor daypack when we are doing outdoorsy things - you can get a nappy or two in it along with a small pack of wipes and a thin wetbag.

DH cooking roast beef for lunch then we are off round to my mum and dads for the afternoon. Am just having a bit of a look round the internet in the mean time trying to see if I can get anything to help dt1's rash which seems to come and go with a mind of its own. DTs spent the night in fleece and were fine when they woke up, then had flip stay drys on and dt1's rash seems to have got worse again which is unusual because the flip inserts are suedecloth topped which is usually OK. There must be something I'm missing because dt2 has a lovely rash free bottom so it can't be anything in the nappies themselves I don't think.

CharlottesClan · 28/02/2010 13:23

bagpuss do they have the clips for bar pushchairs??

octothechildherder · 28/02/2010 15:37

CC - must have misread lol lol

I have a buggy clip thing which is good at attaching things to pushchairs - tellyaddict on MN sells them. I didn't get on with my open top skip hop bag as everything kept getting wet and wouldnt close properly with my napies in - think Bagpuss has one with a flap over the top??? I just chuck my stuff in a MF bag and clip it over handlebars these days or use a cotton shopping bag - the ones marie clare give away are quite good too

octothechildherder · 28/02/2010 19:43

MrsD which do you use at night?

bagpuss · 28/02/2010 20:18

CC, yes they do have the clips on them. Ours has a zip to close the top but I think some of the single ones don't. You can get at least two single versions with flaps over the top which would protect the contents - the dash and the via messenger I think they are called. The duo used to have velcro but I think they may have changed it for a magnet closure. The bag sits quite close to the back of the buggy so unless you spend all day out in the rain I doubt it would get that wet. Lots of lovely patterns to choose from in the single bags as well .

Just polished off some cold roast beef sandwiches and a glass of lager.

Octo how was your day?

MrsD, lovely stash there. I'm enjoying seeing what everyone else has. So many people use pockets and ai2s which is interesting as when I cloth nappied ds2 four and a half years ago they were quite a new thing.

MrsDimples · 28/02/2010 22:48

Octo
the BBH's with wool or the pop-in's with night booster

& I forgot my snugglepants from the list

Bagpuss I love seeing other people's stash too.

With the SIO itti's I love using them when out & about, cos you only need to take 1 nappy & lots of inserts, which means less to bring back too. Though I tend to use a pocket, generally a Rumparooz, for travelling.
